Bei der Fabrikation künstlicher Blumen war bisher das Verfahren üblich, die Blumen in der Weise herzustellen, dafs man die Blätter derselben einzeln aus Gewebe, Papier u. s. w. in derjenigen Gestalt fertigte, welche der natürlichen Form der Blüthenblätter möglichst entspricht, diese Blätter um einen festen Kern herum nach der Blüthenform gruppirte und einzeln befestigte. Abgesehen davon, dafs dieses, Verfahren relativ theuer und für die Bedürfnisse der Massenfabrikation langwierig ist, weil es die Herstellung und Befestigung vieler . einzelner Stücke erfordert, leidet dasselbe noch an dem Uebelstand, dafs die so hergestellten Blumen des geringen Haltens wegen, welchen die einzeln stehenden Blätter besitzen, sehr vergänglich sind. Letzter Umstand macht sich insbesondere dann sehr fühlbar, wenn es sich um die Verpackung und Versendung derartiger Blumen handelt.
