clear difference between the two habitats. In the sediment of the tidal sand flat we could observe a larger total number of organisms than in the estuarine mudfat. Predominantly we found ciliatesin the sand flat and copepoda in estuariane mudflat. Although there is a need for further studies we can tell that our experiment supports the hypothesis that there is a difference between the two habitats respective constellation and ab-undance of organisms in the intertidal system.
