Die bisher bekannten, als Flachringe ausgebildeten Klemmspangen für Gardinen haben den grofsen Nachtheil, dafs sie nicht als Zugringe verwendet werden können, da ein Ecken dieser Ringe auf den Gardinenstangen unvermeidlich ist. Aufserdem besitzen diese Flachringe, die zumeist aus Messing bestehen, geringe Federkraft, die nach kurzem Gebrauch ganz verloren geht. Die aus Draht zusammengedrehten Klemmspangen von kreisförmigem Querschnitt sind nur in bestimmten lichten Durchmessern anzufertigen, da die den eigentlichen Ring bildende Spirale bei grofsen Durchmessern ihre Kreisgestalt wegen der Durchhängung verlieren.
