Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 31. August 1901 ab.Patented in the German Empire on August 31, 1901.
The raw material made from monazite sands of various composition or from consumed Incandescent mantles can be made with the appropriate amount of coal (bituminous coal or coke or coal dust) melted together in the electric furnace. At Monazitsand are per 100 kg. about 30 to 40 kg. To use coke. It creates a golden yellow colored, shiny metallic mixture of carbides of the metals concerned, which easily dissolves in suitable acids with the evolution of acetylene and ethylene; when using less carbon, a brown, non-metallic carbide is formed, that with acids methane mixed with more or less hydrogen, because with this melting operation carbides of various compositions as well as metals develop.
The acidic solution of the enamel product does not contain phosphoric acid, because phosphorus for the greater part burns in the melting process as such, for the smallest part in the Dissolve as' phosphine escapes. This also escapes from the silicates of the Silicon originating from sands when dissolving as silicon hydride.
Remnants of glow stockings can also be turned into white, shiny metal by melting them with charcoal Thorcarbide, mixed with cercarbide, turn into nitric acid dissolves, so that usually a directly reusable thorn nitrate is obtained.
Excess coal is transformed into splendidly crystallized ones during the melting process Graphite that remains when dissolved in acid and is used accordingly can.
The filtered acidic solution of the digested Monazite sands is made according to the usual Methods fractionated, the gate failing first.
The method described differs significantly from the previously known and common ones in that the annoying disintegration with sulfuric acid is saved furthermore the costly removal of phosphoric acid and the laborious process that it entails Operations are avoided. Since salts can be obtained directly by the above process, which are considerably more soluble are than the sulphates obtained by the methods hitherto practiced, the operation will be carried out fractional felling is much easier and cheaper. Granted a special advantage the process used to process mantle residues that were previously the monazite sand had to be added because they could not be unlocked in any other way. The other rare earths (cerium earth, ytter earth and zircon earth) can be obtained from the after Solutions which remain fractionated can be obtained by known methods.
Claims (1)
Patent-An saying:
