KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The present invention relates to armature electrical machines with open or
also closed winding, both ring and drum armature, and has the purpose of
to avoid sparks at the commutator, the self-induction effect of the
to reduce the commutator leading coils, by an arrangement that
it allows the self-induction during power interruptions at the commutator
the coils and the like generated extra currents that cause the fire to be diverted.
The first embodiment (FIG. 1) is intended to be parallel to the commutator bars. the brushes have electrical resistors www .... which absorb the extra currents. In this embodiment, no weight is placed on the current loss in these resistors, which form a bypass to the main circuit. A second embodiment is shown in FIG. 2. In addition to the coils that lead to the commutator, windings WWW .... are arranged, which are closed individually or in groups and thus absorb the extra currents according to the laws of mutual induction. It should be pointed out that these short-circuit windings have a different effect here than the known arrangement of short-circuit rings on the pole pieces of electrical machines, known as the amortiser. This arrangement keeps the field constant in the pole pieces, while here the other, imagined fixed part of the machine can also be fed with alternating current. The embodiment of FIG. 1 is also conceivable in such a way that the commutator is replaced by a single ring made of a material with certain resistances, which of course has the same effect as the arrangement of individual resistors between the webs of the commutator, and thereby excludes power interruptions altogether.
