The invention relates to a cigarette or similar smoking product with a cylindrical tobacco female part and a tubular mouthpiece, which are arranged coaxially to one another, wherein the mouthpiece emanates from and adjoins the tobacco-filled space Forms smoke passage and also has passages for additional air, which the exterior of the mouthpiece connect to the smoke outlet.
In the case of known cigarettes, an attempt is made to remove the smoke emerging from the space filled with tobacco to cool by providing a cavity in the mouthpiece into which both the cigarette smoke as well as additional air can flow in from the outside. One proceeds in such a way that one means Passages connects the cavity with the outside of the cigarette case, so that through these passages Additional air can be sucked in if a negative pressure forms in the cavity. This cooling has, among other things, the purpose of lowering the smoking temperature for physiological reasons and to give the cooler smoke the opportunity to condense tar constituents.
The object of the invention is to create an insert for such a cavity that is capable of is to mix additional air and cigarette smoke intimately and the mixture at the same time a comparatively to offer a large condensation surface.
This object is achieved in that in the mouthpiece immediately next to the Tobacco cylinder part a cylindrical body with several chambers extending in the longitudinal direction for receiving the additional air flow coming from the passages and that from the tobacco cylinder part coming smoke stream is arranged. An intimate swirl takes place in these chambers Mixing of the smoke flow with the additional air, and also the chambers have a comparative large surface area which is useful for absorption.
Eine besonders günstige Gestaltung des als Einsatz dienenden zylindrischen Körpers erhält man, wenn er mehrere im Abstand voneinander sich in axialer Richtung durch ihn hindurch erstreckende Längsschlitze aufweist, die die genannten Kammern bilden und am tabakzylinderseitigen Ende des zylindrischen Körpers voneinander getrennte Einlasse in die Kammern und am entgegengesetzten Ende des zylindrischen Körpers voneinander getrennte Auslasse aus den Kammern aufweisen und wenn die im Mundstück vorhandenen Durchlässe an ihrem einen ZigaretteA particularly favorable design of the cylindrical body serving as an insert is obtained if it has several spaced apart in the axial direction through it Has longitudinal slots which form said chambers and at the end of the cylindrical tobacco cylinder Separate inlets into the chambers and at the opposite end of the body cylindrical body have separate outlets from the chambers and if the im Mouthpiece existing passages on your one cigarette

Längsschlitzen in Verbindung stehen.End with the cigarette outside and at the other end with the chambers or longitudinal slots in connection stand.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the longitudinal slots in the direction of the Flow through the cigarette will be lower. This gives an even better forced mixture.
In order to be able to feed the smoke stream evenly into the chambers or longitudinal slots, it is recommended itself, the cylindrical body at its upstream end with at least one with to provide the chambers or longitudinal slots connected annular groove. Should the heat emission of the cylindrical body can be improved at its downstream end provided with a cavity.
In der Zeichnung zeigtThe invention is explained below on the basis of exemplary embodiments. In the drawing shows

The in F i g. 1 shown cigarette D consists partly of the tobacco-containing section with conventional paper sleeve 2 and tobacco filling 4 and on the other hand of a tubular mouthpiece into which the tobacco cylinder fits tightly. In addition, a cylindrical body 30 is also provided, which is then built into the enclosed tobacco cylinder end in a chamber 10 formed by the mouthpiece 6. It has an outer diameter of practically the same size as the inner diameter of the mouthpiece 6, so that a snug fit is created, and is attached to the mouthpiece 6, for example by means of adhesive.
The structure of the cylindrical body 30 is shown in FIG. 4 to 8 described in more detail. On his The end facing the tobacco cylinder and thus upstream, the body 30 has two annular grooves 32 and 34, of which the annular groove 32 extends around the entire circumference of the body 30, while the annular groove 34 is arranged radially further inward, as can best be seen from FIG. Of the Bottom of the groove 32 has a distance from the inner wall of the mouthpiece, whereby a passage for the additional air entering from the outside through the passages designed as grooves 8 is created will. In addition, the body 30 also has a plurality of chambers for mixing and absorbing serving longitudinal slots 36, which according to FIG. 5 run in radial planes. How out F i g. 7 can be seen, the slot bottom are arranged at an angle that the slots from upstream to Downstream of the body 30 become lower. This creates the longitudinal slots 36 at the upstream end of the body 30 are fairly wide inlets 33 and on the downstream side, on the other hand, rather narrow outlets 40, which are rounded outwards at 42.
The body 30 can be of various sizes and provided with more or fewer longitudinal slots be. A useful embodiment, however, is the one shown in the drawing with ten longitudinal slots 36 and two annular grooves 32 and 34. With her, the body 30 is 6.3 mm long, each of the ten longitudinal slots is 0.3 mm wide and tapers to the outlets 40 of 0.5 mm radial length together, the grooves 32 and 34 are 0.3 mm wide and 2.3 mm deep. Of the The radius of the curved portion 42 is 7.9 mm. The body 30 can be made of various Material, e.g. B. metal, especially aluminum, paper or plastic exist.
Another useful embodiment of the body is shown in FIG. The one shown here cylindrical body 44 corresponds essentially to the body 30, but has the difference from this at the downstream end a conical cavity 46, which for better heat radiation through the Cylinder is used.
The cigarette E shown in FIG. 2 is designed in the same way as the cigarette D with regard to the tobacco cylinder and mouthpiece, and its parts therefore have the same reference numerals. The cigarette £ also has a body 30 at the upstream end of the chamber 14 which, like the body 30 used in the cigarette D , is directly connected to the tobacco cylinder.
Die Zigarette F The cigarette F shown in FIG. 3 has a mouthpiece 18 which encloses a cavity 20. The inner wall of the mouthpiece is crimped, as a result of which a number of longitudinal passages 22 result in a groove-like cross section. The cigarette F.
The cylinder 30 can also, as is the case with the cigarette D , be attached to the mouthpiece 18 near the tobacco cylinder, for example by means of adhesive.
All three embodiments Ό, E and F act in a similar way when smoking, as will be explained in detail below with reference to the cigarette D. The only significant differences between the three types of cigarettes are the various types of additional air flow through the individual passages used in these cigarettes. When smoking the cigarette D , the smoker applies an induced draft to the mouthpiece and creates a vacuum in the chamber 10 so that the smoke is sucked out of the tobacco cylinder directly and indirectly through the grooves 32 and 34 into the chambers or longitudinal slots 36. At the same time, additional air is also sucked in through the passages 8 into the annular groove 32 and from there into the longitudinal slots 36. Since the gases sucked into the mouthpiece to fill the negative pressure partly consist of additional air, both the cigarette burning temperature and the temperature discussed earlier are reduced Tar formation. The body 30 brings about a fairly intimate and complete mixing of additional air and smoke, in particular in the chambers or passages 36, because these act as mixing chambers.
Temperatur der vom tabakhaltigen Zigarettenteil her einströmende Verbrennungsprodukte herabgesetzt,
This effective mixing is based on the turbulence which is caused by the air jets entering the cylinder slots and grooves and which causes additional air and smoke to swirl around in the grooves. Through the admission of the additional air and its mixing with the smoke, the temperature of the combustion products flowing in from the tobacco-containing cigarette part is reduced, whereby the tar is precipitated. In addition, the body 30 supports this lowering of the smoking temperature by means of heat radiation, which is quite large in its case and which can be intensified by the configuration according to FIG. 8.
As mentioned, the body 30 serves to intercept some of the tars that have formed, which, owing to their sticky nature, adhere to the body surfaces delimiting the slots and grooves. The cylindrical body 30 forms a considerable tar trapping surface due to its design. The cylinder is not easily clogged because of its structure of many slots and grooves. Even if parts of a slot or several of these should become clogged with tobacco crumbs or tar, smoke and additional air can still find many free passages around the blocked areas.
Der teerärmer gewordene Rauch tritt aus den als Mischkammern dienenden Längsschlitzen 36 über die Auslässe 40 in den Stromabteil der Kammer 10The smoke, which has become less tar, passes over from the longitudinal slots 36 serving as mixing chambers the outlets 40 into the downstream compartment of the chamber 10
Here, the longitudinal slots 36 also act as a forward resistance for the amount of smoke flowing through. The body 30 also makes use of one Filter at the inner end of the tobacco cylinder to catch any emerging from it Tobacco parts can be dispensed with, since the body 30 assumes this function.
