It is known that l-phenyl-4-amino-5-chloropyridazon- (6) and 2-chloro-4,6-bis- (ethylamino) -s-triazine have a selective and total herbicidal effect. However, these effects are unsatisfactory.

They are suitable for both selective and total control of Plant growth.
The active ingredients can be prepared by appropriate known processes. So you get for example by condensation of 1-phenyl-4-amino-5-bromopyridazon- (6), which in turn is obtained by reacting l-phenyl-4,5-dibromopyridazon- (6) with ammonia in aqueous solution can, with dimethylformamide under the influence of an acidic condensing agent, e.g. B. a phosphorus halide or thionyl chloride, phosgene or benzenesulphonic chloride, the compound N- [4- (1-phenyl-5 - bromopyridazon - (6) - yl] - N '- dimethyl - formamidine, which has the following formula:

The condensation reaction can optionally also be carried out in a solvent, for example benzene.

The agents according to the invention for influencing plant growth can be used as emulsions, Solutions, suspensions or dusts are used. The forms of application are directed depending on the intended use, they should in each case provide a fine distribution of the active substance ensure during application. In particular when used as a total herbicide, the Effect through the use of inherently phytotoxic carrier substances, such as high-boiling mineral oil fractions or chlorinated hydrocarbons, can be increased.
On the other hand, the selectivity of the growth inhibition comes with the use of opposite Plant-indifferent carriers may come into their own more clearly.

(Cotton), Poa annua (annual bluegrass), Alopecurus myosuroides (foxtail), Sinapis arvensis (mustard), Chenopodium album (white Goose foot), Urtica urens (small stinging nettle), Stellaria media (chickweed) at a height of 3 to 15 cm with 2 kg per hectare of N- [4- (1-cyclopentyl-5-bromopyridazon- (6) -yl] -N'-dimethylformamidine (I) and by comparison with 2 kg per hectare of N- [4- (l-phenyl - 5 - chlorpyridazon - (6) - yl] - N '- dimethylformamidine (II), dispersed in 500 l of water per hectare. After 3 to 4 weeks you could see that I had a stronger herbicidal effect than II. The herbicidal The effect can be seen from the following table.
