Description
Crankshaft and process for hardening it Crankshafts, such as those used for example used in internal combustion engines have been known for a long time Time has been hardened on the surfaces of their bearing journals. For this, surface hardening Both so-called flame hardening and inductive hardening have been used. The aim here was to achieve a uniform thickness on the circumference of the tenons and width of hardening. So, precautions have been taken to Disturbances such as those caused by the relatively large masses of the cheeks during the To stop heating. These cheeks lead to a reinforced one Heat dissipation in certain areas and if it is heated electroinductively, results a certain disturbance of the magnetic field.
Modifications have been permitted or sought with regard to the hardening of the fillets, i.e. H. thus the places of transition from the pin to the cheek. Depending on the expected stress, preference is given to hardening the fillets and in another case this hardening should be avoided as far as possible.
The process of surface hardening both the eccentric crank pin and the central bearing pin has proven itself in practice. The hardening process, in which the crankshaft or the journals rotate during heating and quenching, has proven to be particularly useful. It is true that greater care must be taken in the tensioning and storage of the crankshaft during the individual heating and hardening operations than in the process in which the crankshaft is at rest and an inductor is used which surrounds the entire journal. However, the circulation method has the advantage that the crankshaft is warped to a lesser extent during hardening and quenching. Nevertheless, in the case of the circulation process, the amount of delay is still so great that subsequent straightening work is unavoidable. The straightening is not only disadvantageous because it means an additional and otherwise very carefully performed step, but because straightening the crankshaft in itself is not particularly beneficial. It was found that crankshafts, which had made a stronger message necessary, again show distortion during operation at the operating times in the engine, which results in a shorter service life of the bearing or the shaft compared to those that have only a slight or none at all Need notification. The well-known proposal too directing crankshaft that has been hardened overall on the surfaces of their journals to heat inductively on the cheeks or cranks, has not been put into practice, because this measure is relatively cumbersome. It would also only be feasible with relatively large crankshafts in which the crank arms are of sufficient length to make such heating possible. In addition, this measure does not avoid the straightening itself, but only facilitates the straightening work, or a modified straightening process is selected in place of the classic straightening work.
The inventors set themselves the task of creating a crankshaft, which harden regardless of the type of hardening, but in particular electroinductively, shows minimal warpage, and consequently between hardening and final finishing practically does not need to be directed. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the volume of the hardness layers of the eccentric pin in the circumferential direction seen, starting from the enveloping circle, increases in the direction of the crankshaft axis. In the circumferential districts of the individual journals that are closest to the shaft axis, the volume should preferably have the maximum value. The increase in volume will achieved through greater depth of hardness or through greater hardness width. It is further possible, the variations in the hardness depth and the hardness width at the same time and apply together to achieve the desired goal. Here the hardening capture only the pin surface or also encompass the entire fillet. It can also in the area of the shoulders only the pin surface can be detected and in the area of the cheeks hardened the pin surface including fillets be. The transition from tenon hardening including fillets must be in one area low alternating bending and / or torsional stress. Wes (something is in everyone Fall that the volume of hardness structure ip the vicinity of the outer circle -ering is and in Umian-srichtun -esehen, up to the immediate neighborhood the crankshaft axis increases in order to preferably reach its maximum value there.
The central plates of a crankshaft according to the invention should be uniformly hardened on the surface, as has been customary up to now for all bearing journals Z of crankshafts.
Surprisingly, it shows sich- that a crankshaft as described above, according to the Erfindun2 having a total hardness image, need not be directed more after curing. Due to a few stab attempts, it is for the . It is easy to adjust the volume variation of the martensitic structure for each journal circumference in such a way that the shaft shows a minimal distortion. In the drawings is in A b b. 1 shows the view of a four-stroke crankshaft partially shown in section.
A b b. 2 zeigt einen Schnitt längs der Linie A-A in Pfeilrichtung sehen; cle Ab b. 3 und 4 sind Län(Ysschnitte durch Hubzapfen. A b b. 2 shows a section along the line AA in the direction of the arrow; cle Ab b. 3 and 4 are longitudinal sections through crank pins.
The eccentric crank pin bearings are labeled 1 to 4. 5 to 9 are the middle bearings. The partial section in the area of the hub bearing 2 and the central disk 7 shows that the hardness layer 10, indicated by dashed lines, of the central bearing 7 is distributed uniformly over the circumference of the pin. In the case of the eccentric bearing journal 2, a relatively thin hardness layer can be seen at 11. In the vicinity of the central axis 12 of the crankshaft, this layer is, as indicated at 13 , much thicker. The layer thickness increases, as shown in A b b. 2 recognizable, steadily increasing in the direction of the circumference. The same applies to the crank pin 4. In the vicinity of the crankshaft center axis 12, the hardness layer 14 is particularly strong, on the opposite side of the crank pin at 15 it is relatively weak. Otherwise the pins 1 and 3 are to be treated in the same way.
The hardening layer can also comprise the fillets, as in Ab b. 3 shown. Here, too, according to the invention, the hardness depth around the circumference can be uneven in the sense described. However, according to a further development of the inventive concept, it is also possible to have the hardening in the vicinity of the enveloping circle 18 only encompass the pin surface 20, but in the vicinity of the shaft axis additionally the fillets. The area of relatively small layer thickness, as in Fig. B. 4 shown, is not hardened down to the fillets, on the other hand, at 19 with a thicker layer, the fillets are also included. The transition from tenon to fillet hardening must be in an area in which only slight alternating bending and / or torsional stresses occur.
In any case, it is important that the volume of the hardening areas in the vicinity of the crankshaft center axis 12 is greater than the volume of the layers which lie in the region of the enveloping circle 18. This is presumably due to the fact that the expansion effects, which as a result of the increase in volume when the martensitic hardness structure arises, are balanced out in each pin.
For the properties of the crankshaft, it is immaterial in itself, -the to w ELCHEM Ve # Hahreff wave it is he that is in total cures. Particularly expedient to provide ductile heating, as is known per se, the whole-surface hardening process, in which the pin revolves opposite an inductor which only partially surrounds the crank pin in the form of a loop. When the pin has reached the necessary hardening temperature after rotating it several times against such an inductor, the inductor is switched off and the quenching agent is passed on. According to the invention, the off-axis loading einzelneu pin during rotation are scheduled t, moderately in a, the delay entgeeenwirk-c-idcii C - heated unzleichförmig manner on the Umfan2- to a circumferentially continuously to a maximum value of the depth and / or Generate a wide increasing or decreasing hardness layer. The inductor, which only partially surrounds a pin rotating at constant speed, is supplied with different power levels synchronously with the rotation of the shaft. This performance can be controlled. indc.-n the excitation of the generator is controlled, which serves as an alternating current source for the induction heating system.
Furthermore, one can in the circuit of such an induction heating system Upstream choke coils, which are provided either in the oscillating circuit itself or in front of it could be. The power to be supplied to the inductor can be controlled by the characteristics of these reactors are changed. This happens for example by providing slidable cores or by the choke coils be premagnetized in different strengths by means of direct current.
Another way of controlling the power to be supplied consists in varying the inductive resistance of the inductor leads. this can be done by having cores provided between the conductor branches of the leads that can be extended and retracted to a greater or lesser extent.
The power can also be regulated by adjusting the coupling distance of the inductor is changed periodically and synchronously with the rotation of the pin. At the The simplest is the direct electrical influence depending on the circulation of the cone. It is known, for example, the power as a function of the angle of rotation to control the crankshaft.
However, other types of switching and control are also possible, which are known per se for other purposes. For example, it can be a master wave are provided. It is also possible to arrange cams for the necessary movements of switching elements or mechanical parts. Of furthermore it is possible to work with cams, limit switches or the like.
The simplest way to achieve the hardness profile according to the invention consists in increasing the thickness of the hardness layer on the perimeter and steadily to lose weight. In this case, the width usually also increases bw. away. The constant widening and in the width again removal of the hardness layer in Axis direction seen of the pin, can be achieved analogously with the same or similar means as described above.
It is in the description of the method to -n generate a crankshaft according to the invention it has been assumed that the crankshaft during heating and deterrence, because this in itself is a process that is proportionate gives little cause for warping. However, on the generation of the crankshafts the standstill method with a comprehensive inductor can also be used. The heating depth and / or heating width can be achieved with the same power supply Unevenly distributed placement of laminated sheet metal stacks on the inductor be designed in the circumferential direction of the pin so that they are up to a maximum value steadily increases and decreases again.
