Die in Fig. 1 und 2 der beiliegenden Zeichnung dargestellte Walze besteht aus einem Hohlkörper H und der inneren Achse A. Diese Achse ist nicht, wie bei den bisherigen Constructionen, nur an einer Stelle in der Mitte mit dem Hohlkörper verbunden, sondern an zwei Stellen aufserhalb der Mitte, wodurch eine wesentlich geringere Beanspruchung und daher gröfsere Ausnutzung des Walzenmaterials erzeugt wird. Dieser Vortheil macht sich besonders bei grofsen Breiten geltend, zumal dann, wenn die Walze nur zum Theil, und zwar einseitig ausgenutzt- wird, in der Art, dafs etwa die Actionslinie der Resultirenden von Biegungskräften nicht gerade durch die Tragstelle des Walzenmantels geht. In diesem Falle werden bei Vorhandensein von zwei Befestigungsstellen diese nur auf einfache Festigkeit beansprucht, wohingegen bei nur einer Tragstelle dieselbe in bedenklicher Weise auf zusammengesetzte Festigkeit beansprucht, die Ermittelung der angreifenden Momente recht verwickelt und somit auch die Bestimmung des richtigen Widerstandsmomentes vielfach eine Glückssache ist.The roller shown in Fig. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing consists of a hollow body H and the inner axis A.
