The invention relates to an optical arrangement for eliminating the line structure in picture tubes of television receivers that work on the interlaced principle. The one sent from the screen Light is by means of an optical diaphragm, whose in line direction and at a constant distance running grooves have a smaller distance than the neighboring picture lines of a full image, especially scattered across the line direction.
Since the spaces between adjacent lines are covered in such an arrangement, it is possible to view the television picture from a much smaller distance than before, since the otherwise annoying Line structure is no longer recognizable. In addition, those are closely related to the line structure unpleasant phenomena, such as the breaking between lines, the wandering of lines and the Staircase effect, no longer visible, so that a calmer television picture that is noticeably sharper horizontally than before.
Zu den eben erwähnten Störerscheinungen sei noch folgendes ausgeführt:The following should be added to the disturbance phenomena just mentioned:
Dies wird erfindungsgemäß mit einer gerillten optischen Blende der beschriebenen Art dadurch erreicht, daß die Rillentiefe T nach der FormelThe interlace is a frequently observed disturbance in the television picture, which occurs as a result of the interlacing process with a frequency of only 25 Hz (vertical flickering of the picture). Line wandering is also a consequence of the interlacing process. It is based on the accommodation of the eye to a certain line, simulates to the observer a line raster of half the number of lines moving slowly up or down and is particularly disturbing in the case of vertical movements in the image. The staircase effect is understood to mean the property of any transmission system that works with a line grid to depict all lines enclosing a small angle with the lines as stairs. As a result of the abolition of the line structure, all these phenomena are no longer visible to the television viewer. The aim of the present invention is to dimension the optical diaphragm in such a way that the best possible coverage of the interline spaces can be achieved without any noticeable loss of light for the television viewer and without impairing the pixel sharpness in the line direction. This is achieved according to the invention with a grooved optical diaphragm of the type described in that the groove depth T according to the formula

Bei Beachtung der erfindungsgemäßen Lehre wird die Zeilenstruktur auf der Leuchtschicht des Bildschirmes für den Zuschauer praktisch unsichtbar.4 <ζ · (η-1), where D denotes the line spacing, b denotes the groove spacing, α denotes the distance between the luminous layer and the profile and η denotes the refractive index of the screen material used. If the teaching according to the invention is observed, the line structure on the luminous layer of the screen becomes practically invisible to the viewer.
An optimal result for eliminating the line structure is achieved when the value of b = D / 20 to D / 5 for a periodic surface profile with constant groove spacing b.
Furthermore, an arrangement has proven to be particularly advantageous in which the groove depth of the groove profile consisting of a chain of arcs of a polynomial, preferably of parabolic arcs, is approximately b / 10 .
Hierbei zeigtAccording to a further feature of the invention, the material of the screen has almost the same refractive index η as the screen glass.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Here shows

Das Rillenprofil 2 der optischen Blende 3 bewirkt eine Umordnung der ursprünglichen Leuchtdichteverteilung S (z) der auf der z-Achse befindlichen Leuchtschicht 1 in eine für den Beobachter 4 sichtbare Verteilung S* (q), die durch das Rillenprofil 2 aufCoordinate cross entered, with the luminescent layer 1 of the picture tube on the z-axis and the profile 2 of the optical diaphragm 3 on the (/ -axis) drawn at a distance χ - α (parallel to the z-axis) causes a rearrangement of the original luminance distribution S (z) of the luminous layer 1 located on the z-axis into a distribution S * (q) which is visible to the observer 4 and which occurs through the groove profile 2

I. The observer 4 sits like this. far from the pane 3 This relationship for the effect of the diaphragm 3 applies to any profile. Of particular interest are periodic profiles 2 of the diaphragm 3, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 are shown. Here is the constant groove spacing of these periodic profiles with b

II. The maximum deflection of the rays from the luminous layer 1 as a result of refraction at the groove profile 2 occurs only in the area of small angles (<20 °), so that their argument can be set for the sine and tangent functions:
sin ω «a w tgq>f&q>. (1)sin ω «a w tgq> f &q>. (1)
III. The angular dependence of the luminance, which occurs after the cosmic law, can be neglected, so that the transition ao from S (z) to S * (q) can be obtained solely by a coordinate transformation ζ - f (q)
Under these conditions, according to FIG. 1 and 2 determine the coordinate transformation, where the following sizes are used:
φ = Ablenkwinkel,
α = Einfallwinkel
A2 = Ausfallwinkel, φ = deflection angle,
α = angle of incidence
A 2 = angle of projection,
β = Neigungswinkel des Profils 2 im Punkt (α, q), β = angle of inclination of profile 2 at point (α, q),
ρ = Funktion des Oberflächenprofils,

n* = Brechungsindex für die Blende (1). ρ = function of the surface profile,
K 1 = refractive index for air (= 1),
n * = refractive index for the diaphragm (1).
The observer 4 sees on the luminous layer 1 at the point 5 with the coordinates O, q a surface element luminous with the luminance S * (q) , which in reality is located at the point 5 'with the coordinates O, ζ = q-a · tg is located. The deflection of the light beam coming from point 5 'takes place in the diaphragm 3 at point 6 with the coordinates a, q by refraction on the groove profile.

Because of the finite aperture of the eye, the observer 4, who is sufficiently far away from the divergent disk 3, no longer perceives the individual stripes separately, but rather integrates them over stretches of b. The mean values obtained by him are presented to him as a continuous black-and-white transition flattened to 2 /.
This black and white transition applies to each line and its subsequent space if before the Luminous layer of the television picture tube with its line * ° structure a panel with a parabolic surface profile is attached. This results in the cheapest Value for the dispersion if the dispersion width / equals the distance between adjacent image lines.
Is is preferably selected for the diverging diaphragm a groove spacing of about one fifth to one twentieth of the spacing between adjacent image lines and a groove depth of about one tenth of the groove spacing.
One can for the scattering effect of the optical diaphragm ao also use a non-periodic groove profile with static distribution of the angle of refraction, if here the mean groove width is small compared to the distance between adjacent image lines. This execution is very easy to manufacture by, for example, the groove profile using abrasives, z. B. by means of sandpaper, whose grain size compared to the distance between neighboring ones Image lines is small. Such a profile of the diffusing diaphragm also erases the line structure. However can partially total reflections due to the static distribution of the refraction angle occur, so that part of the light is lost for the viewer and causes a certain loss of brightness.
Periodic surface profiles avoid such total reflections, so that diaphragms with such profiles favorable line erasure without loss of brightness compared to the television picture on the luminescent layer exhibit.
