Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Ringofenanlage, die vorwiegend zum Brennen von Trockenprefssteinen dienen soll. Der Ofen ist mit einer Schmauchvorrichtung bekannter Bauart versehen. Es ist nun eine Einrichtung getroffen, mittelst welcher der bekanntlich viel Wasserdampf enthaltende Schmauch aus einer Kammer in eine andere beliebige Kammer abgesaugt werden kann, und zwar soll er aus einer frisch beschickten Kammer, in~ welcher sich der Schmauch entwickelt, in eine unter Weifsglut stehende, die fertig gebrannten Steine enthaltende Kammer geführt werden. Neben der dadurch erfolgenden Abkühlung der Steine hat dieses Verfahren den Vortheil, dafs der von dem fortschreitenden Feuer mitgerissene Schmauch zur Belebung des Feuers und Erhöhung der Brenntemperatur ausgenutzt werden kann. Vermuthlich befördert er die Vergasung des Brennstoffes. Die Wirkung dieser Einrichtung äufsert sich in einer bedeutenden Ersparnifs an Brennmaterial. An den Abzweigungen befindet sich zwecks Absperrung eine gewöhnliche Drosselklappe m oder ein Ventil, welches Fig. 4 veranschaulicht, und welches aus einem mit einem heb- und senkbaren Kegel versehenen Ventilgehäuse besteht. Der in den frisch beschickten Kammern gebildete Schmauch gelangt durch das Zweigrohr / nach Oeffnung der Drosselklappe oder des Ventils in die Leitung k und kann nun von hier aus beliebig entnommen werden, z. B. nach einer Kammer, in welcher Weifsglut herrscht, die Steine also fertig gebranntsind. Durch den eintretenden Schmauch werden die Steine abgekühlt. Der Schmauch wird durch das in die anderen Kammern fortschreitende Feuer mitgerissen und gelangt unter den Brennstoff, welcher hierdurch vollständiger verbrennt, so dafs eine Ersparnifs an Brennstoff eintritt.
