Description
Process for the wash-resistant finishing of textiles with disinfectants It is known to impregnate textiles with substances which have a disinfecting effect. According to French patent specification 1226 622, organic compounds which contain one or more phenolic groups and are practically insoluble in water are particularly suitable for this purpose, e.g. B. chlorinated phenols, cresols or xylenols. Decorative textiles are impregnated by soaking them with a solution of the disinfectant (alone or mixed) in sodium hydroxide solution and, after removing the excess of this solution, treating them with dilute acid to neutralize the sodium hydroxide solution. This known type of impregnation has the disadvantage that the disinfecting effect is lost after a relatively short time through the laundry, since modern detergents, but also soda and soaps, dissolve the disinfecting substances, especially at the high temperatures used in the laundry . Another method known from US Pat. No. 2904466, in which a solution containing a water-soluble polychlorophenolate, a tetraalkali metal pyrophosphate and a salt of a metal whose specific gravity is greater than 4 is used as the impregnation bath has the same disadvantage. In addition, the presence of the pyrophosphate as a complexing agent for the heavy metal is required.
It has been found that the action of disinfectants, with which textiles are treated, persists practically indefinitely, if after soaking the textiles with the solution of the water-insoluble disinfectant freed from excess of this solution in sodium hydroxide solution, then diluted in a Nickel salt solution treated and finally after thorough rinsing in well-known Way equips. This increases the anchoring of the disinfectant on the textile.
Zweckmäßig wählt man Nickelchlorid. USA.-Patentschrift 2 804 391, geeignet send. The general procedure here is to remove the textile material to be impregnated soaked in a solution of the disinfectant in dilute sodium hydroxide solution, wherein the concentration of the solution in the disinfectant is set appropriately so that that their percentage is as high as the desired order in percent, d. H., if you want an order of z. B. 2%, the solution should be about 20 / a of the agent or the funds included. The excess of caustic soda, based on the amount which is necessary to dissolve the disinfectant is expediently 5 to 10%. The textile material is pressed or flung onto it, so that the ratio Solution to textile goods is about 1: 1. The treatment in the diluted nickel salt solution follows, whose concentration is between 1 and 31 / o, based on salt (anhydrous). Appropriate choose nickel chloride. The excess nickel compound is removed by centrifuging and thorough rinsing and equipping the textile product in a known manner, for. B. by Treatment with a soap solution and / or a finishing agent. You get improved products if you use a water-repellent preparation, what for the well-known means, -like z. B. Solutions of aluminum salts with fatty acids substituted melamine resins or carnauba wax emulsions, the latter cf. USA patent 2 804 391, suitable send.
An embodiment which is advantageous in some cases exists dark, that the treatment of the textile with the disinfecting solution after the application of the nickel salt repeated.
If you use the textile product after treatment with nickel salt aftertreated with a water-repellent preparation, it can be useful that Textile material before drying with z. B. a calcium acetate solution to treat to make the emulsion emulsifier insoluble.
All compounds are suitable for carrying out the Kies process have a disinfecting effect, soluble in water, but because of free OH groups -are soluble in alkali, such as B. chlorinated phenols, cresols or. Xylenols or Chlorodioxydiphenylmethane alone: older in a mixture with each other.
Bakterien. Unter dem Gewebestück war die Wachstumsbehinderung in allen Fällen »total«.As the examples 1 and 2, the effect of the disinfecting substances against fungi improved überrascheryderise over .the time and still exists after 50maligem washing .. From the examples 3 and 4 shows that even after washing 6maligem a germicidal effect - on Bacteria is present. In these experiments, the effect of the method according to the invention was investigated using the auxonographic method by inoculating a nutrient agar vigorously after solidification with spore-containing fungal or bacterial material and then placing the treated piece of tissue 20-20 mm in size on the agar layer. The zone around the piece of tissue in which the bacterial or fungal growth was inhibited was then measured. "Total" means a complete absence and "partial" means a strong reduction in the growth of fungi or bacteria. Under the piece of tissue, the inhibition of growth was "total" in all cases.
Example s represents a blind test and example 6 a comparative test according to British Patent 843 839, Example 2, that of U.S. Patent 2 904 466 corresponds.
Example 1 Dissolve part of a mixture of 30% chlorophenol, 30% dichlorophenol and 40% chlorocresol in 7.5 parts of 40% sodium hydroxide solution and diluted with water, so that a solution with 2% content of the chlorophenol mixture is formed. A knitted fabric made of copper rayon is treated with this solution for 10 minutes at room temperature and then removes the excess solution by pressing, so that the knitted fabric contains 2% of its weight in chlorophenols. One goes on here with the textile in a 2% nickel chloride salt solution and then rinsed it thoroughly with cold water. Then you treat it with a preparation 3 g of soap per liter, spun out and dries. The knitted fabric is then with Soap - 4 g / 1 - washed at room temperature of 25 ° C up to 50 times.
The same impregnation solution is used, however the textile material becomes again after the nickel salt solution has been applied and washed out treated with the impregnation solution, pressed, rinsed and then in a carnauba wax emulslon - 5 g / 1 -prepared. Drying takes place first at 80 ° C., and then briefly towards the end at 120 ° C.
Example 3 A cotton fabric is used. in one: slightly alkaline soda Solution, which contains 5% dichlorophenol sodium, treated, then pressed off so far, that 5% of the substance remains on the tissue and then with a 2% nickel salt solution brought together. After thorough rinsing, treatment is carried out in a carnauba wax emulsion. The tissue is finally pressed off and to insolubilize the emulsion emulsifier treated with a 2% calcium acetate solution and dried.
The textile is washed 3 or 6 times in a lye, the 5 g mustard and Contains 3 g of soda, for 30 minutes at a temperature of 60 ° C.
This fabric treated in this way has been divided into two pieces, from which one has been tested directly for its disinfecting effect. That the other is washed 5 times in succession in a lye at 90 ° C before the test which contained 5 g of soap and 2 g of soda per liter.
