Diese Gefahr würde vermieden werden, wenn man das Gelatinerelief auf die bereits fertig in den Hauptzügen plastisch modellirte Unterlage aufbrächte. Auch ein derartiges Verfahren findet sich in der amerikanischen Patentschrift beschrieben ; bei diesem Verfahren ist aber die Gefahr der localen Beschädigung des Gelatinereliefs auch nicht ganz beseitigt, da die Gelatineschicht in gequollenem Zustande leicht verletzlich ist und mit zunehmender Erhärtung zu spröde wird, um sich den Formen eines' modellirten Untergrundes ausreichend anzuschmiegen.
