Die vorliegende Zither ist so eingerichtet, dafs ein Theil ihrer Saiten mittelst eines Streichbogens zum Ertönen gebracht werden kann. Zu diesem Zweck ist der Körper stufenförmig gestaltet und je nach Art der Zither mit einer Anzahl Saiten bespannt. Die einzelnen Saiten jeder Stufe sind ebenfalls stufenförmig erhöht eingespannt. Es liegt z. B. die Saite α höher als die Saite b und diese wieder höher als die Saite c, wie dieses in Fig. 3 der Zeichnung dargestellt ist. Jede der sechs Stufen f ghikl trägt drei Melodiesaiten. Die Stifte d, welche die Saiten abc tragen, sind in verschiedenen Höhenlagen angeordnet.The present zither is so arranged that part of its strings can be made to sound by means of a bow.
