Description
The invention relates to a diaper consisting of a plate-shaped sheet of absorbent Cellulose, a moisture-wicking pad and a moisture-proof film that only can be used once and then thrown away.
So nehmen z. The currently most commonly used children's diapers are made of a soft fabric and are washed after soiling before reuse. However, situations often arise where storing and washing soiled diapers is extremely inconvenient. So take z. For example, families often take their children with them on a long road trip, or they bring them to visit friends or relatives. In these cases, the soiled diapers are kept until you return home stored where they are then washed. Own a cheap diaper that is only used once hence the greatest practical interest.
A known single-use diaper consists essentially of one thin, plate-shaped sheet of moisture-absorbing cellulose, on which a separate, slightly smaller padding made of cellulose, which is also moisture-absorbent, is arranged. A thin one flexible film made of a waterproof material, e.g. B. a polyethylene film, is with the outer surface of the Upholstery and the ends of the arch that protrude beyond the upholstery, glued. The finished diaper is relatively cheap and can be thrown away when dirty.
In another known diaper intended for single use, they are more impermeable or layers of moisture-absorbing cellulose are not sufficiently absorbent for the body fluids. The lack of ability to handle large amounts of moisture absorbing quickly, on the one hand, causes moisture to penetrate. Also have to such diapers are changed very often. The invention avoids these disadvantages, namely by that the material of the sheet is partly made of water-insoluble and evenly distributed sodium carboxymethyl cellulose consists. Although a diaper is already known for the production of a moisture-proof sheet with increased wet strength the use of aluminum carboxymethyl cellulose is suggested. Naturally, however, the absorption capacity of the paper is thereby reduced decreased and by no means increased.
According to a preferred further embodiment of the invention, the material of the sheet can be diapered

In the latter case, the percentage of ether according to the invention is not important, since the presence of the ether in any quantity compared the absorbency of the diaper to one consisting of unsubstituted cellulose.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing, in which FIG the arch, 2 the absorbent pad, and 3 a waterproof film.
With the preferred embodiment, a diaper is obtained which contains a large amount of body fluid absorbs without some of the moisture penetrating the clothing or mattress. the However, the diaper can also consist of any suitable combination of pads and sheets or another Mass of soft, absorbent material of any shape or shape. at All of these embodiments, the essential feature is that at least one larger Part of the absorbent material at least partly consists of a water-insoluble sodium carboxymethyl cellulose consists.

Every single anhydroglucose unit of cellulose has three etherealizable hydroxyl groups. Cellulose, which has been etherified as far as possible, therefore has an etherification degree of 3.0. In practice, a degree of etherification of 3.0 is rare, if it is reached at all. The actual value of the degree of etherification in each case represents the average number of ether groups which were introduced into the cellulose mass per anhydroglucose unit of the cellulose.
Zur Prüfung der Aufsaugefähigkeit verschiedener Stoffe werden jeweils 1 g wiegende Proben von unreagierter Cellulose, von verschiedenen Natriumcarboxymethylcellulosen und von einer MischungAny known sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is suitable for use in the present invention Diapers, the only requirement being that it be substantially water-insoluble, i. When unsubstituted cellulose with the sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is mixed, any purified cellulose, e.g. B. Cotton linters, cleaned wood pulp, etc., use. Long fiber cotton lint is preferred in some cases because of its softness Texture. For the same reason, the carboxymethyl cellulose used can also be made from long-fiber, etherified cotton lint. In other cases, even short fibers can give optimal results; deliver nits. Mixtures of unsubstituted cellulose with sodium carboxymethyl cellulose are preferred Embodiment of the invention, there is an unsubstituted cellulose together with the ether cellulose mass containing better absorption properties than pure cellulose or pure sodium carboxymethyl cellulose shows. This leads to an "entangling effect" of the unsubstituted cellulose back, which when combined with the extremely absorbent sodium carboxymethyl cellulose most effective product results.
As stated earlier, the method of making the sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is not important. For illustration, however, the production of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is described below Sample 4 described in the table.
Dann neutralisierte man die Mischung mit Essigsäure und wusch mit einer 65:35-Mischung von Alkohol und Wasser aus.1520 grams of xylene, 293 grams of ethanol, 90 grams of water, and 100 grams of cellulose were added for 5 minutes in a 2 gallon capacity bottle with a metal lid and a polyethylene liner as well as a small one Glass tube rolled in the middle of the metal lid. 9.4 g of sodium hydroxide were then added and rolled Mix another 30 minutes. The cellulose was torn and kneaded at intervals of 10 minutes, to ensure good penetration of the reactants. You then added 9.5 g of monochloroacetic acid and rolled the mixture for an additional 10 minutes, after which you put it on a Heated water bath to 50 to 60 ° C and rolled for another 15 to 20 minutes. The alternating heating and Rolling continued for a total of 3 hours. Then the mixture was neutralized with acetic acid and washed off with a 65:35 mixture of alcohol and water.
The sodium CMC of Samples 5, 6 and 7 in the table were prepared in a similar manner, only with the exception that the amounts of sodium hydroxide and monochloroacetic acid are correspondingly were varied.
