Aus den Seitenwandungen der beiden Blätter A und B eines zweiblättrigen Speculums, wie es unter dem Namen Cusco gebräuchlich ist, sind jederseits so · starke Ausschnitte gemacht, dafs beim Geschlossensein desselben ein freier Raum a, Fig. 1, bleibt, welcher von den Flügeln ί>ι des Blattes B beginnt und bis zu der Spitze c sich verjüngt. In diesen so gewonnenen freien Raum ist jederseits ein Blatt d d, Fig. 4, von der Länge und Breite desselben eingefügt. Die äufsere Fläche dieses Blattes ist convex und legt sich an die convexen Flächen von A und B dicht an. Von der inneren Fläche ist oben und unten im Verlaufe der ganzen Länge bis kurz vor der Spitze b, Fig. 4, soviel abgenommen, dafs der stehengebliebene Theil in den Raum a, Fig. 1, einspringt und somit die innere Fläche dieses Blattes mit der innern der Blätter A und B abschliefst. Die Blätter d d sind nach hinten verlängert, um- und etwas seitlich abgebogen, und ist an den hinteren Enden jederseits eine Stellschraube e e, Fig. 4, durchgelassen. In Fig. 4 sind sie durch Scharniere ff mit senkrecht stehender Axe mit einem Bügel g g verbunden. Durch Andrehen der Stellschrauben e e ist der hintere Theil der Blätter dd dem Bügel SS ^zu nähern und wird unter Drehung in den Scharnieren ff eine horizontale Sperrung der Blätter d d bewirkt.
