Description
Call receiver for wireless paging systems For paging systems It is necessary that the wearer of a pager perceive a signal clearly can. There are various possibilities. The real problem, however is that with the relatively low electrical energy of a miniature receiver a sufficiently clear signal is triggered for the person to be called. the electrical energy, which is mainly supplied from rechargeable batteries or dry batteries, must be used economically with a view to a relatively long service life will. So it is an essential consideration how much energy is needed to trigger of a signal is required. In contrast, the power consumption for the The device's readiness to receive is only a fraction of that when the Signal is used.
Acoustic signals are known for paging receivers which are emitted by a miniature loudspeaker (small earphones. Furthermore, there are flashing lamps which are mainly used for rooms with a lot of noise, and vibrators are also known which, for example, use an eccentric cam to close the housing of the paging receiver vibrate so that a person can perceive the call signal. The most widespread technology is that with acoustic call signals. It is important here to trigger a penetrating, intensive signal with a predetermined electrical power due to the battery volume while maintaining the longest possible operating time. The electromechanical efficiency Such miniature loudspeakers are now at a technical level that can hardly be improved. Therefore, as is known, paging receivers have already been built in which a funnel is placed on the loudspeaker to increase the sound radiation, whereby the adaptation to the radiation gsfeld is improved and a higher degree of efficiency is achieved. However, these funnels can bring only a slight improvement in the necessary smallness, as is possible with such a receiver, because their dimensions are still small compared to the emitted wavelength. For radiation, frequencies in the area of the highest ear sensitivity between 1000 and 3000 Hz are mainly used, the higher frequencies above 2000 Hz mainly because they can be better distinguished from the interference spectrum of noise-filled rooms.
The invention relates to a pager for wireless paging systems, in which the call signal lying in the area of the highest ear sensitivity has a electroacoustic transducer is emitted. The invention is that for Increase in the sound radiation of the ringing frequency of the transducer with an acoustic Resonater is coupled to one in the range of the highest ear sensitivity lying frequency is tuned.
The invention thus makes use of a tuned resonator, which can be placed in front of a small earphone, for example, and an essential one Increase in the radiated sound power of the call signal enables.
Resonators are in connection with microphones and loudspeakers already known, but they always serve to linearize the frequency responses. With a microphone z. B. related two resonators, one of which on one medium and the other is tuned to a high tone frequency.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a cavity with a corresponding opening is placed in front of a conventional small receiver, so that in connection with the small receiver a resonance increase occurs at 3000 Hz. In this embodiment, the sound pressure obtained in this way is at least 10 db higher than the value without a resonator. This means that only a tenth of the electrical power is required for the same sound radiation.
From your simplified electrical equivalent circuit diagram shown in Fig. 1 for an embodiment with a magnetic small earphone and the matched cavity in front of Fig. 3 , the more detailed mode of operation emerges. LI, Cjj Ri simulate the mernbranch resonance of the listener, which is around 150OHz in the example. C2, L2 simulate the cavity in front of the membrane with the opening of the earpiece, the natural frequency of which is around 220 Hz. The tuned cavity placed in front of the small receiver is simulated by C and L. It has a natural frequency of around 4000 Hz. C4 and R2 are the equivalent circuit for the radiation resistance of the listener. By coupling the two cavities C 1 and C3 via the opening of the receiver L9, a resonance occurs at 3000 Hz, which is used for the signal tone.
It is also possible to customize a special receiver which differs from that shown in Fig. 1 and 3 embodiment in that ACCORDING TO FIGS. 2 and 4, the cavities C2 and C, and the necessary openings L, and L, in a single cavity C2 ″, with an opening L2,3 , so that a resonance frequency of 3000 Hz arises.
The solution according to the invention has the significant advantage over a funnel arrangement that a much larger sound radiation with actually smaller Volume dimensions can be realized because this is in contrast to the funnel the volume dimensions for a resonator are small in relation to the wavelength its miissm, which is paramount to a pager.
In Figs. 3 and 4 practical embodiments of the invention are shown.
A small earphone capsule 1 has on its front side an attachment 2 in which there is a small emission opening not visible in the drawing. A body 4, which is provided with a cavity 3 and in which an opening 5 is located, is pushed onto the approach 2. The cavity 3 forms together with the opening 5 a resonator which is excited by the non-visible small opening of the listener, thereby improving radiation of a call signal the waste.
9 bildet. Die nicht sichtbar dargestellte Membran des Kleinhörers 6 wirkt direkt auf das in dem Hohlraum, 9 befindliche Luftvolumen, so daß der aus dem Hohlraum 9 und der öffnung 7 gebildete Resonator angeregt und ein Rufsignal verbessert abgestrahlt wird.FIG. 4 shows an exemplary embodiment, the equivalent circuit diagram of which is shown in FIG. A cap 8 provided with an opening 7 is attached to a small receiver 6 , which together with your small receiver 6 forms a cavity. 9 forms. The membrane of the small earphone 6 ( not shown) acts directly on the volume of air located in the cavity 9 , so that the resonator formed from the cavity 9 and the opening 7 is excited and a ringing signal is emitted in an improved manner.
