Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet ein Verschlufs für Kisten, welcher nicht nur an sich sehr sicher ist, sondern auch der Kistenwandung selbst einen festen Halt verleiht. Als Verschlufs dienen winkelförmig gestaltete Riegel r, welche mit dem einen Schenkel in Aussparungen α der Querleisten eingelegt sind. Es erhält jede der Leisten zwei einander gegenüberstehende Riegel zur Führung, von welchen der eine an der einen und der andere an der anderen Seite über die Seitenwand der Kiste greift. Wenn die Kiste geschlossen werden soll, so werden die beiden Riegel in der Mitte zusammengezogen und hier an einander oder am Deckel der Kiste befestigt. Die senkrecht gebogenen Schenkel der Riegel sind mit Dornen d versehen, welche in die Seitenwä'nde der Kiste eingreifen, so dafs dadurch das Abheben des Deckels, falls die Riegel nicht zurückgeschoben werden, unmöglich ist. In der Mitte der Deckelleisten, da, wo die Riegelköpfe k liegen, ist eine Oeffnung oder Aussparung angebracht. Die Riegelköpfe können hier in beliebiger Weise befestig! werden.
