Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of co-amino-caprylic acid and its esters with alcohols which contain 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
The process according to the invention makes it possible to obtain very pure products. This is special Significance in view of the fact that the co-amino-caprylic acid was previously difficult to obtain, which in turn their use as a monomer for the production of polyamide fibers was very cumbersome.
The manufacturing process described in the literature (Goldsobel, Ber. Dtsch. Former Ges., 27 [1894], p. 3128) of ω-amino-caprylic acid is that initially with the oxime of 9-ketostearic acid one Beckmann rearrangement is carried out, whereupon the product obtained is treated with concentrated hydrochloric acid 180 ° C is decomposed. Under these conditions only a small amount of amino acid is formed during the the remainder consists mainly of nonylamine, decanoic acid and azelaic acid.
The ω-amino-caprylic acid and the above-mentioned esters can be used according to the invention in a simple manner obtained when 7-cyano-2,5-heptadienoic acid or its ester is selectively hydrogenated in two stages, with the Provided that one in the first stage with a palladium catalyst and hydrogen under pressure at 10 to 80 ° C and then in a second stage with a Nickel-chromium catalyst and hydrogen reduced under pressure at 20 to 60 ° C. The hydrogenation process leads to co-amino-caprylic acid and its esters according to the formula:

Palladium is very suitable as a catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of the double bonds and can, when applied to substrates, it can also be used in very small amounts.
The lower alcohols used here are aliphatic alcohols within for practical reasons a limit of 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The esters of these alcohols obtained can be distilled as such and polymerized without it being necessary to first saponify them and separate the amino acid.
The end product obtained by the hydrogenation, if it is an ester, can be distilled will. It should be noted, however, that it is difficult to achieve partial polycondensation in this way of the amino ester, especially if it is a lower ester. In this case it is advantageous to first add the product by boiling it with a mineral acid such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid saponify, then neutralize it with ammonia, to applicant:

The amino acid can also be purified via its hydrochloride (melting point = 145 to 146 ° C.).
The crude reaction product of the can also be used as the starting product for the process according to the invention Reaction of 4-chloro-1-cyano-butene (2) with acetylene, carbon monoxide, nickel carbonyl and water or alcohols use.
Vergleiche z. B.It is already known to reduce unsaturated carboxylic acid nitriles to saturated amino derivatives, to be precise both in a single operation and selectively in stages. Compare e.g. B.

Knowledge of this state of the art, however, does not allow foreseeing whether and in what direction a reduction will occur runs selectively, since z. B. Sodium and alcohol in one case selectively only the carbon double bond, in the other case selectively reduce only the cyano group. It must therefore be used for the inventive method as Surprisingly, it can be seen that with the aid of certain catalysts it is possible in different stages to achieve the desired selective reduction.
14 g Methylester von 7-Cyan-2,5-heptadiensäure werden 30 Minuten lang bei 30° C in einer Methanollösung unter einem Wasserstoffdruck von 30 at in Gegenwart von 1 g Palladiumkatalysator auf Trägerstoffen hydriert.14 g of methyl ester of 7-cyano-2,5-heptadienoic acid are for 30 minutes at 30 ° C in a methanol solution under a hydrogen pressure of 30 atm in the presence of 1 g of palladium catalyst on supports hydrogenated.
The catalyst is then filtered off, and there are 5 g of a nickel-chromium catalyst and 0.3 g of sodium hydroxide added. The hydrogenation is then carried out for 30 minutes at 30 ° C. under a hydrogen pressure of 30 at continued. The catalyst is then filtered off. The solution appears clear and colorless. Now the alcohol distilled off and the residue refluxed for 3 hours with 36% hydrochloric acid. It will neutralized with sodium carbonate during heating, and then about 0.5 g of a basic oil is added extracted with ether.
The solution is then acidified with sulfuric acid, neutralized with ammonia and evaporated. The residue is extracted repeatedly with absolute alcohol, and the salt is filtered off. The alcohol extract is evaporated and so the ω-amino-caprylic acid is obtained.
Das Hydrochlorid der Säure schmilzt bei 145 bis 146° C. Die Ausbeute an ω-Amino-caprylsäure beträgt 80 %.The hydrochloride of the acid melts at 145 to 146 ° C. The yield of ω-amino-caprylic acid is 80%.
