Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the decoration of porcelain or the like. Goods under glaze by means of decals, which differ from the hitherto The usual procedure is differentiated by the fact that the picture is completely burned in one fire.
Das Verfahren besteht in Folgendem:The procedure consists of the following:
The burned-up, i.e. pre-burned body is first mixed with a mixture of alcohol, Shellac, firnifs and liquid glue coated resp. immersed in this mixture; then the image is peeled off in the usual way on this adhesive layer. Adheres to this layer but not the glaze; this would therefore not cover the image when burned on. Around to achieve this, the layer carrying the image, as well as this, becomes at the same time as one Dextrin solution coated; after this dextrin layer has dried, the picture is then glazed.
The mixing ratios of the two solutions used, both the adhesive and the dextrin solution, vary somewhat depending on the physical conditions of the porcelain, its porosity etc. The following ratios should be mentioned as an example, where the sought protection should not be limited to this one recipe.
Instead of shellac, a other equivalent resin may be used in whole or in part; it is not the same excluded that the glue is partly replaced by other equivalent means. the Dextrin solution is best used in ι ο percent strength; however, this strength can both in the case of the dextrin alone, and especially when the dextrin is wholly or partly by other rubber-like bodies, such as. B. tragacanth, agar, is replaced. As above already noticed the items are after both layers with the one in between lying pictures are applied, dried for some time; the glaze is then applied and the pottery prepared in this way was immediately burned to the surface.
H. for those who want the picture on a coherent, mostly made of collodion Wear layer. It does not simply apply to rubber images; H. at such images, which consist of pressed individual, mostly made of rubber or the like. Existing Put surfaces together. If you want the process to be usable for these images as well make, the burned-up body is first provided with a raw glaze coating, whereupon the details of the procedure as previously described are carried out, only with the difference that it burned up between the adhesive paint and the paint There is still a layer of glaze in the shards. In this case, too, the body is immediately burned to the surface. It is It does not matter which of the two types of decals is used; it falls in everyone
If the fire in the muffle or the melt continues; you can also use the decals Produce in all colors for the smooth firing.
