Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Bremse, welche dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dafs das Bremsband bezw. die Bremsbacken durch Freigeben eines diese Elemente bethätigenden Gewichtes plötzlich angezogen werden können und einen sofortigen Stillstand der Maschine veranlassen, wobei das Gewicht zum Umlegen eines Arretirhebels benutzt wird.
