Diese besteht im wesentlichen aus einer mit der zu bremsenden Welle umlaufenden, jedoch axial auf dieser verschiebbaren, beidseitig mit Bremsbelägen versehenen Ringscheibe, einer weiteren axial verschiebbaren, nicht drehbaren Ringscheibe sowie aus einer mit einstellbarem Druck an die nicht drehbare Ringscheibe anpreßbaren Feder. Dadurch ist es möglich, daß die Brems scheibe Schwankungen und Ungleichheiten nachgeben kann und somit eine gleichmäßige, stoßfreie Bremswirkung erzielt wird. Ein weiterer Vorteil besteht darin, daß die Abmessungen der Bremse klein sind und diese Bremse daher leicht in das Lager der zu bremsenden Walze eingebaut werden kann. Eine Schraube, also ein einfaches Bauelement, kann zur Erzeugung der Vorspannung dienen.
