Abstract
Production of 12, 16, 20, 24 C aliphatic compounds comprises preparing 50-100 (wt.)% linear, 4 C olefin mixture of 50-100% butenes and butadienes with olefin/diene molar ratio (1-10):1; catalytic addition of butenes to dienes to increase carbon number by 4; catalytic isomerization to conjugated dienes with same carbon number; separating dienes with 4n C atoms; selective hydrogenation to olefins or conversion to amines, aldehydes or alcohols. Production of aliphatic olefins, amines, aldehydes or alcohols with 4n carbon (C) atoms, where n = 3, 4, 5 or 6, comprises (a1) preparing a 4 C olefin mixture containing (wt.%) 50-100 % butenes and butadienes with 50-100 % linear olefins, and passing this mixture, optionally mixed with buta-1,3-diene to an olefin/diene molar ratio of (1-10):1, to (b1); (b1) addition of the butenes to the dienes to increase the C number by 4 in the presence of a basic catalyst and passing the mixture to (c1); (c1) isomerization of the dienes in the mixture to conjugated dienes with unchanged C number on an isomerization catalyst and passing the mixture to (d1); (d1) separating the dienes with 4n C atoms from the mixture and passing them to (e1) and (partly) recycling the remaining dienes in the mixture with butenes to (b1); (e1) selective hydrogenation of the dienes to olefins or reaction to amines, aldehydes or alcohols. An independent claim is also included for production of aliphatic 12 C olefins, amines, aldehydes or alcohols.
