Abstract

The adjusting device consists of an outer cylinder (2) and an inner cylinder (5) acting as a separating piston and dividing the outer cylinder into two pressure chambers (25,26). A stop component (28) is installed at the closed end (6) of the inner cylinder and interacts with a stop (31) installed on the outer cylinder through which an extension of the inner cylinder from out of the outer cylinder is limited to a maximum extended position in which a piston ring (13) separating the pressure chambers of the outer cylinder is bypassed, connecting these pressure chambers.
