Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Tragsäule eines Kraftfahrzeugs mit einem sich nach oben konisch verjüngenden Querschnitt, welche aus zwei miteiander verbundenen, in Fahrzeuglängsrichtung hintereinander angeordneten Profilen, einem Hauptprofil und einem Zusatzprofil, zusammengesetzt ist, wobei das Hauptprofil über den Großteil seiner Länge unter einem spitzen Winkel beschnitten ist. Um bei einfachem Aufbau eine hohe Steifigkeit zu erreichen, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass das Hauptprofil ein geschlossenes Hohlkammerprofil umfasst, das Zusatzprofil ein geschlossenes Hohlkammerprofil umfasst und zum Verbinden von Haupt- und Zusatzprofil wenigstens zwei von einem oder beiden Hohlkammerprofilen abragende Flansche vorgesehen sind, welche in flächigem Kontakt mit dem jeweils gegenüberliegenden Profil stehen.
