Abstract

The cam follower of a valve gear of an internal combustion engine has an outer lever (2) and an inner lever (4) pivotable in relation to one another and interconnected by a coupling means (5) in the form of a piston which extends in a continuously smooth through-hole (13) in the inner lever and for coupling purposes is displaceable in or under a corresponding driving face (14) of an end side cross beam (15) of the outer lever. An outer lining of the piston is completely smooth cylindrical and is manufactured in centerless grinding process.
