Abstract

Use is claimed of a surfactant-containing concentrate in the production of a cleaning solution for use in an apparatus for cleaning windows of vehicles, the concentrate being characterized by also containing an effective amount of a defoaming agent. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) use of a surfactant-containing cleaning solution also containing a defoaming agent in an apparatus for cleaning vehicle windows; (ii) use of such a concentrate or solution in the 'first fill' for the storage vessel of vehicle window washing apparatus following production of the vehicle; and (iii) a surfactant-containing concentrate for such a use containing a defoaming agent (especially a nonionic surfactant/polymer or silicon compound), and also: (a) a monohydric 1-4C alcohol (30- 80%); (b) a 2-3C diol, a di- or tri-alkylene glycol with 2 or 3C in each alkylene group, a 3-5C triol or a monoether of these (0-25%); (c) surfactant (0.5-1.5%); and optionally (d) (in)organic builders (0.005-1.5%).
