Abstract

The automobile has an engine compartment at the front, containing an IC engine coupled to an exhaust gas manifold (8), with a front air entry supplying a cooling air flow for the exhaust gas manifold, divided into an air entry region (FH) at a higher level and an air entry region (FT) at a lower level. The air entry region at a higher level can be blocked as required, e.g. via a movable blocking device (9). An independent claim for a method for adjusting the cooling air flow for the exhaust gas manifold of an automobile is also included.
