Abstract

In a fluidized bed reactor, e.g. for the incineration of waste materials, the gases pass through the bed at high speed. The gases form an isochronous, isohaline and/or insulating annular flow of varying temperature or concentration between the raw gas and the pipe wall. The gas flow is maintained at a steady speed of 5 - 300 m/s. A jet lance releases an aqueous medium of defined pH, or an organic medium (e.g. oil), or steam, into the gas at the point of highest speed and towards the flow filaments. The media are introduced in alternating pulses.
