Abstract
Description
MikrostreifenantenneMicrostrip antenna
The The invention relates to a microstrip antenna (patch antenna) high profit and great Bandwidth.
Known Microstrip antennas have a gain of approx. 6 dBi - 8 dBi and a small bandwidth of approximately 1.5% to 2.5%. Modern high-speed communication systems require antennas with higher Profit and wider range.
I. J. Bahl and P. Bhartia, Microstrip Antennas. Dedham, MA, Aretech Hause 1980]. It is already known to gain from microstrip antennas Use of one or more dielectric called superstrates Improve top layers [I. J. Bahl and P. Bhartia, Microstrip Antennas. Dedham, MA, Aretech Home 1980]. For a significant improvement of the gain, dielectric cover layers with high permittivity are required, which, however, is generally very complex and leads to a further one Reduction of the bandwidth available with microstrip antennas leads.
It are also known microstrip antennas with a high gain, which both have a resonance cavity underneath the microstrip line bearing dielectric substrate, as well as a cover layer with predetermined dielectric and magnetic properties [J. R. James, P.S. Hall, and C. Wood, Microstrip Antenna Theory and Design, Electromag. Waves Series 12, Peregrinus, 1981]. This Construction can improve the isolation of the radiation elements, but still has the limitations mentioned above.
Bei einer zweischichtigen, elektromagnetisch gekoppelten rechteckigen Mikrostreifenantenne wurde experimentell 9,2 dB Gewinn ermittelt, jedoch nur bei einer Bandbreite von 1,3 %.at a two-layer, electromagnetically coupled rectangular Microstrip antenna was determined experimentally 9.2 dB gain, however only with a bandwidth of 1.3%.
Es wurden auch dicke Substrate zur Verbesserung der Bandbreite einer Mikrostreifenantenne verwendet [H. Yang and N. Alexopoulos, "Gain Enhancement Methods for Printed Circuit Antennas Through Multiple Superstrates", IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, vol. AP-35, no. 7, pp. 860–863, July 1987]. It were also thick substrates to improve the bandwidth of one Microstrip antenna used [H. Yang and N. Alexopoulos, "Gain Enhancement Methods for Printed Circuit Antennas Through Multiple Superstrates ", IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, vol. AP-35, no.7, pp. 860-863, July 1987]. A larger substrate thickness enlarges however generally also the performance of surface waves.

All in all the prior art described above shows that use from horn radiators fed by means of dipoles or waveguides is widely used in microwave antennas. However, the task a microwave antenna equipped with a miniature horn to be designed so that the manufacturing and assembly work largely is reduced and at the same time the antenna gain and the bandwidth elevated has not yet been satisfactorily resolved.
According to the invention Object achieved by the features of claim 1.
In relation to the invention, a material used in the microstrip antenna, such as the carrier body, is said to be "non-conductive" if the loss factor of the material applies to the condition tan δ <10 -2 .
- • a support body with z. B. plate-shaped shape made of a non-conductive material has a recess,
- The dielectric substrate on which the planar radiator element is applied and the resonance cavity associated with the radiator element, the lateral dimensions of which are larger than that of the radiator element, are arranged in the recess,
- The side wall of the recess in the carrier body has an electrically conductive layer,
- • The underside of the support body, ie the side of the support body facing away from the radiator element, is completely or at least in the area under the resonance cavity covered with the base plate or with an electrically conductive layer conductively connected to the base plate
- • Each radiator element is assigned a miniature horn, which is arranged on the top of the support body and surrounds the radiator element at a distance, with the base of the miniature horn on the dielectric substrate and the lateral dimensions of the base of the miniature horn smaller than those of the are dielectric substrate.
This embodiment let yourself Modify advantageously by the miniature horn and the Carrier body from a non-conductive plastic such as PVC u. Like. exist, wherein the inside wall of the miniature horn is an electrically conductive layer having. Such an embodiment is particularly cheap to manufacture if the miniature horn and the support body are integrally formed are.
With the inventive microstrip antenna of the inner wall of the miniature horn of approximately λ o / 4, a gain of approximately 12.5 dBi, and a bandwidth of approximately 14.5% was obtained at a frequency of 9.37 GHz and a length. By increasing the length of the inside wall of the miniature horn, the profit can be increased further. With a suitable choice of the antenna parameters, the antenna can work in all microwave and millimeter wave ranges.
The invention is based on a preferred embodiment with reference to the attached Drawings explained in more detail with further details.
