Die für einen Stator benötigten Einheiten – Blechstreifen und das Joch – werden getrennt hergestellt. Die Blechstreifen mit den vorgefertigten Nutschnitten, Stegen und den dazwischen befindlichen Zähnen werden spiralförmig über Kopf aufgewickelt oder als übereinanderliegende Blechstreifen mit Umfangslänge gestapelt und als ganzes Paket als Teil des Stators und noch ohne Joch rund gebogen. Die Zähne in diesem Fertigungsabschnitt werden nicht wie üblich durch das magnetische Joch mechanisch miteinander verbunden, sondern entgegen gängiger Motorbautechniken wird diese Verbindung durch einen schmalen mechanischen Steg auf der anderen Zahnseite, d.h. im Luftspaltbereich des späteren Motors, erreicht.
