Abstract

In the prior art, shower baskets used to store bathing utensils such as shampoo or shower gel bottles are often attached to one side of the shower wall, for example by means of a suitable base plate, which in turn adheres to the wall surface with self-adhesive strips. The secure hold of the shower basket is given by the fact that both a shearing load along the respective adhesive strip and a moment of force that acts on the adhesive strip in a direction perpendicular thereto due to a tilting load on the shower basket are smaller than the holding capacity of the adhesive strip. In particular, a depth of the basket measured normal to the wall surface is a decisive criterion for its holding capacity and load capacity, since this depth results in the lever of the above moment of force and therefore has a significant influence on it.

Among other things, so-called "detachable" double-sided adhesive strips are known, which after bonding can be detached from the adhesive joint between the wall and base plate by stretching in a direction approximately parallel to the wall, so that the shower basket can be removed from it again without damaging the substrate . Such adhesive strips are usually glued behind the shower basket in such a way that an area that can be gripped by hand and is non-adhesive remains within reach for “expanding de-adhesion”.

Also known in this context are symmetrical corner baskets for mounting in a shower corner, which have, for example, an approximately triangular base for placing bathing utensils, which is typically surrounded by a vertical basket wall. The basket wall contains as wall sections two flat side walls arranged approximately at right angles to one another, which are each to be attached to one of the two wall surfaces of the shower corner adjoining one another at right angles.

To attach such a corner basket in a wall corner, for example, it is off U.S. 8,020,820 and U.S. 7,802,766 B2 known to use two separate mounting plates, one on the outside of the first side wall and a second on the outside of the second side wall of the corner basket each pivoted, ie deflected with a certain game, and releasably attached. Both fastening plates can be bonded to the respective wall surface on their flat rear sides by means of adhesive, for example by means of a double-sided self-adhesive adhesive strip.

To attach the corner basket to both wall surfaces of a wall corner U.S. 7,802,766 B2 suggest bringing the corner basket close to the corner of the wall, with both mounting plates being deflectably and detachably attached to the respective side wall and initially only the adhesive on the back of the first mounting plate being exposed. The corner basket is brought close to the second panel with the back of the second mounting plate, the adhesive of which is not yet exposed at this step, and moved towards the wall corner until the first mounting plate touches the first panel and is adhered to by the adhesive. The corner basket is then detached from the first mounting panel and the adhesive on the back of the second mounting panel is exposed. The corner basket must then be reconnected to the first mounting plate, with the corner basket deflected relative to the mounting plates such that the exposed adhesive on the back of the second mounting plate does not touch the second wall. Only then does the corner basket have to be deflected in such a way that the exposed adhesive on the back of the second fastening plate touches the second wall and thereby adheres to it.

However, the last two assembly steps in particular are over with the one U.S. 8,020,820 and U.S. 7,802,766 B2 known system and methods are not easy to carry out in practice and require a certain level of technical skill. In addition, it is a two-point attachment.

In order to offer sufficient storage space, however, it is necessary with such a symmetrical corner basket to increase the depth of the basket and thus the "lever arm" significantly. In order to ensure a secure hold in this case as well, a three-point attachment of the basket may be necessary.

Another problem to be expected when attaching the corner basket is that the wall surfaces of a shower corner, to which the shower basket is to be attached, are in practice not exactly at right angles (90° standard angle), but have angle tolerances within certain limits on site. As a result, especially in the third Attachment point with a three-point attachment Stresses arise during the adhesive attachment, which would drastically reduce the holding capacity of the shower basket.

An analysis of the "Angle Tolerance for Shower Walls" shows that, as a rule, a deviation of no greater than 1.5 mm is to be expected within a shower basket size of 200 mm (side length). In order to generate some additional security, this value can be rounded up to 2.0 mm. This tolerance must be compensated for when developing corner shower baskets with a three-point attachment in order to avoid tension on the bond.

Task

The object of the invention is to provide a technical solution in the form of a shower basket system and a corresponding method for its attachment in a shower corner, which compensates for the above-mentioned tolerance deviations from a standard angle of 90° in the case of adjacent wall surfaces of the shower corner and allows for a simple and at the same time secure attachment of the Shower basket also allows for a non-technical qualified user. It is a particular object of the invention to provide a technical solution that also allows a three-point attachment of a corner basket in a shower corner.

Solution

This object is solved by the invention with the features of the independent claim. Advantageous developments of the invention are characterized in the dependent claims and in the subordinate claims referring back to the independent claim. The wording of all claims is hereby made part of the content of this description by reference. The invention also includes all reasonable and in particular all mentioned combinations of independent and/or dependent claims. The description of all features and technical effects that are described with reference to the shower basket system according to the invention also applies to the method according to the invention, and vice versa.

The present invention relates in particular to a shower basket system for fastening in a shower corner which is formed by two wall surfaces which are at a standard angle of 90° to one another. On-site angle tolerances of both wall surfaces must be compensated up to a predetermined maximum angle deviation from the 90° standard angle.

The shower basket should be able to be used to store bathing utensils, such as soap or bottles of shampoo or shower gel. For this purpose, the shower basket system comprises a container in the form of a corner basket, which has two substantially level (i.e. flat) vertical side walls standing approximately at right angles to one another and a floor held by the side walls and stretched between them for storing bathing utensils. In a final assembly state of the shower basket system in the shower corner, the floor can in particular be aligned horizontally. “Essentially planar” can in particular mean “apart from coupling recordings described further below”.

Here, spatial direction and orientation information such as "vertical", "above", "horizontal", "sideways", "above", "wall-side" etc. always refer to the position of the shower basket system in its final assembly state in the shower corner (if not explicitly stated otherwise). In this case, a shower corner or wall corner edge, along which both wall surfaces of the shower corner adjoin one another, extends in the vertical direction.

Furthermore, the shower basket system includes a two-part base plate, which is composed of a first base part and a second base part. Both base parts have flat adhesive surfaces for self-adhesive adhesive strips for attachment to one of the two wall surfaces on the back (herein also referred to as "wall side"), as well as for attachment to one of the two side walls of the container on the front (herein also referred to as "container or coupling side") coupling elements. Each side wall of the container has coupling receptacles on the outside, which are designed for a detachable connection with the coupling elements of the associated base part of the base plate by means of a form fit.

According to the invention, the two base parts of the base plate are pivotably connected to one another via a single rotary joint (for example in the form of a hinge). In a final assembly state of the shower basket system, the axis of rotation of the swivel joint extends vertically and thus parallel to a corner edge formed by the two wall surfaces. This results in an intuitively understandable and easy-to-use assembly structure of the base plate, whose (two) individual base parts are connected to one another, in contrast to previously known solutions, and by rotating/pivoting around a single axis of rotation, their position and arrangement are adapted to the real conditions of an individual geometry of a shower corner are customizable. As a result, the fixing method described below compensates for on-site angle tolerances of the two wall surfaces of a shower corner reliably and in particular without manual skills or manual dexterity.

The container can be coupled to the base plate by mutual displacement of the container and the base plate in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation mentioned, in that the container is pushed with its coupling receptacles onto the coupling elements of the base plate from above. The container can be decoupled from the base plate again by mutual displacement of the container and the base plate in the opposite direction.

Due to the fact that the two base parts of the base plate can be pivoted about their swivel joint and due to a suitable mutual design of the coupling receptacles and the coupling elements, the coupling of at least one of the base parts and the associated side wall of the container has such play both during the coupling process and when connected to one another that on-site angular tolerances of both wall surfaces can be compensated for up to a predetermined maximum angular deviation from the 90° standard angle by pivoting the two base parts around the swivel joint accordingly. As a result, tension at the adhesive points can be reduced or avoided entirely, which enables the best possible holding capacity of the shower basket.

As already mentioned, the specified maximum angular deviation from the 90° standard angle is not to be expected to be greater than 1.5 mm for a shower basket size of around 200 mm (in relation to a side length that is measured horizontally along a side wall). In order to generate some additional security, a value of 2.0 mm can be assumed and scaled accordingly for other shower basket sizes.

This shower basket system, in contrast to conventional fastening systems, thus enables a simple method of fastening the container (i.e. corner basket) in a shower corner, which does not require any special manual skills on the part of the user. A suitable sequence of process steps which are easy to understand and carry out is given below and in the claims.

According to a preferred embodiment, the shower basket system is designed for a three-point attachment of the container in the shower corner, in that the first base part has two adhesive surfaces for separate adhesive strips (pairs) that are spaced apart in the horizontal direction in the final assembly state of the shower basket system and that form two correspondingly spaced attachment points. The second base part can have an adhesive surface that forms a third attachment point.

More generally, the shower basket system can be designed for fastening the container in the shower corner comprising more than two (for example three, four, five or more) horizontally spaced fastening points. For this purpose, the first base part can have two or more horizontally spaced adhesive surfaces for separate adhesive strips (pairs) in the final assembly state of the shower basket system, which form two or more correspondingly spaced attachment points. The second base part can have one or more adhesive surfaces, each of which forms a further attachment point.

In other words, this results in an attachment solution for shower baskets with a three-point adhesive attachment, of which one adhesive point is attached at an angle of approximately 90° to the other adhesive points. The design of the base plate described here makes it possible to compensate for tolerance deviations from the 90° standard angle of the on-site wall surfaces of a shower corner in the area of DIN 18202 (dimensional tolerance in building construction), with the maximum tolerance deviations according to this standard being around 0.38°.

In the embodiment with the three-point attachment, the coupling of the first base part to the associated side wall of the container can be essentially free of play, while the coupling of the second base part to the associated side wall of the container is designed with said play. As a result, the manufacture and/or the assembly process can be further simplified and improved.

In a specific configuration, the side walls of the container have, at their upper edges in the final assembly state of the shower basket system, which ideally extend horizontally, at least in sections above the coupling receptacles, a shoulder-shaped border protruding horizontally outwards, the underside of which forms a supporting surface that can be placed on the associated coupling elements of the base plate is formed at or for their connection to the coupling receptacles.

In a particularly advantageous manner, the shoulder-shaped border in the final assembly state of the shower basket system, the coupling receptacles and / or coupled thereto coupling elements of the base plate or between the respective side wall of the container and a Wall surface to which it is attached, completely cover the gap formed in the horizontal direction. As a result, the elements mentioned can be covered and/or protected from the ingress of liquid, in particular when the shower basket system is viewed from above.

In a specific embodiment, the two flat side walls of the container can extend vertically upwards from its base and be connected by one or two further, preferably rounded, wall sections to form a container wall that completely encloses the base on all sides. As a result, the bathing utensils accommodated in the container can be additionally protected from falling out or sliding out.

In particular, the bottom of the container can also have a plurality of through-openings which are designed for water to flow out of the container. As a result, the formation of waterlogging in the container can be avoided.

According to one embodiment, the self-adhesive adhesive strips are provided separately from the base plate as double-sided self-adhesive (and in particular as the initially mentioned detachable) adhesive strips for subsequent attachment to the base plate. In this case, before the attachment process described below, the adhesive strips are each protected on their two adhesive surfaces by non-adhesive cover films.

The covering films are then removed from the adhesive strips on the first base part of the base plate. The container with the second base part is then placed against a first of the two wall surfaces and the container is moved in the direction of the wall corner until the first base part rests against the second wall surface and is thereby adhered.

The container is then decoupled upwards from the base plate. The second base can now be pivoted about the pivot away from the first panel to remove the cover sheets from its adhesive strips.

The second base part is then pressed against the first wall surface until the second base part also adheres to the first wall surface. This is followed by repeated pressing of all adhesive surfaces of the base plate onto the respective wall surfaces by exerting pressure on the coupling-side surfaces of both base parts. In order to achieve an adhesive effect that is as uniform as possible in each adhesive strip over its entire surface, each adhesive strip is pressed on at several points distributed over its entire adhesive surface.

Finally, the container is coupled to the base plate by pushing its coupling receptacles from above into or onto the associated coupling elements of the base plate.

If double-sided self-adhesive adhesive strips are available separately from the base plate at the beginning of the process and are protected on both sides by non-adhesive cover foils, an additional preparation step is added: Attaching adhesive strips to all adhesive surfaces of the base plate by releasing each adhesive strip from the cover foil on only one of its two adhesive surfaces and is attached to the base plate by pressing said adhesive surface to one of the adhesive surfaces of said base plate.

Coupling elements 30 and 31 (not shown in detail) are formed on the aforementioned surfaces 20 and 21 of the base plate 7, which lie opposite the adhesive surfaces 90, 91. The container 5 has a bottom 15 with a large number of through-openings 16 which prevent waterlogging in the container 5 . The container 5 is delimited by vertical side walls. A first side wall 3 and a second side wall 4 span a 90° angle between them in the horizontal plane.
