The invention relates to a method for a mobile communication device, and more particularly it relates to a computer-implemented method for a mobile communication device to recognize meeting context information in another mobile communication device. Technischer HintergrundTechnical background
Mobile communication systems in the form of smartphones - i.e. mobile phones with a touch-sensitive screen for interaction with a user - only become "smart" through application programs - so-called apps - and are used in practically all areas of life. Calendar entries can be used, for example, to manage appointments or make appointments; You can use a browser to search for information and people on the Internet, you can take part in video conferences or query profile data from participants in a social network, to name just a few.
In recent years, smartphones have taken over more and more functions from previously stationary computers. In the business environment, practically everyone always has at least one smartphone with them and can also use its functions elegantly during a meeting.
Due to increasingly globalized business relationships and urbanization, more and more people meet both professionally - also supported by agile forms of work - and privately, without having met each other before and therefore not knowing each other personally. Such gatherings, get-togethers or meetings may have been organized beforehand electronically - i.e. by means of email exchanges, invitations via electronic calendars or other communication platforms, or they may take place ad hoc, e.g. on the sidelines of conferences, at the airport, on the plane or at the start of studies. However, there is currently a lack of meaningful electronic support in the form of an app for such meetings in order to draw long-term and sustainable benefits from them.
Currently, there is little opportunity to efficiently share content - especially extended contact information - with a limited group of people: on the mainstream social networks, profile information is immediately public for the whole world, but at the same time difficult to find during an actual meeting; the input required to search for a name is distracting and error-prone for common names. Rounds of introductions or 1:1 handing over of business cards do not scale to slightly larger rounds; this bores even the sub-groups who already know each other.
There is thus a need to address the shortcomings of the existing solutions, in particular to effectively support face-to-face meetings with additional electronic services.
ÜBERSICHT ÜBER DIE ERFINDUNGSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This object is achieved by the method proposed here, the corresponding system and the associated computer program product in accordance with the independent claims. Further configurations are described by the respective dependent claims.
According to a first aspect of the present invention, a computer-implemented method for a mobile communication device to detect meeting context information in another mobile communication device is presented. The method involves connecting a reference to a user profile to a first communication service in a first mobile communication device and sending out a first broadcast signal with the reference to the first user profile by means of a signal which is at most within a predefined radius - i.e. locally limited - is receivable by the first mobile communication device. The first broadcast signal can be received by a second mobile communication device and can be forwarded to a second communication service, which has the same function as the first communication service, in the second mobile communication device.
The method further includes receiving a second broadcast signal by the first mobile communication device. This is received in response to the transmission of the first broadcast signal, with the second broadcast signal having a second reference to a second user profile. In addition, the method includes forwarding the received second broadcast signal to the first communication service and displaying at least part of the data of the second user profile using the first communication service on a graphical user interface of the first mobile communication device.
According to a further aspect of the present invention, a mobile communication system for recognizing meeting context information in another mobile communication device is presented. The system includes a processor and memory connected to the processor storing program code elements which, when executed, enable the processor to associate a reference to a user profile with a first communication service in a first mobile communication device and to emit a first Cause broadcast signal with the reference to the first user profile by means of a signal. This can be received by the first mobile communication device within a predefined radius at most, with the first broadcast signal being able to be received by a second mobile communication device and being forwarded to a second communication service, which has the same function as the first communication service, in the second mobile communication device.
The stored program code elements also cause the processor to receive a second broadcast signal from the first mobile communication device in response to the transmission of the first broadcast signal, the second broadcast signal having a second reference to a second user profile.
In addition, the processor is also prompted by the stored program code elements to forward the received second broadcast signal to the first communication service and to display at least part of the data of the second user profile using the first communication service on a graphical user interface of the first mobile communication device.
The proposed computer-implemented method for a mobile communication device to recognize meeting context information in another mobile communication device has several advantages and technical effects that also apply accordingly to the associated system:
The proposed method can use three mechanisms to create a delimited private sphere within the public space in order to pass on non-public content - in particular profile data of users or documents used in the meeting - in a targeted manner. The above local and time restrictions ensure that only users of mobile communication devices who are in the same room (or in a spatially limited open-air area) at the same time are included. Optionally, a user-generated identifier for a particular meeting can be used as an additional constraint to allow a subset of people - or their corresponding mobile communication devices - to share information in the same room at the same time. An example of an outdoor subgroup would be a group of regulars in a restaurant or beer garden.
The proposed method also supports an extended business card concept. This applies insofar as profile information from users can be supplemented or refined in a context-specific or target-group-specific manner. For example, a business profile of a user within a large company may contain, for example, a company organizational unit or a country code. On the other hand, a user's business profile for a meeting/gathering outside of a company, e.g.
In addition - for example "Stammtisch" - private profile data, such as a private telephone number or connection data for a social network, can also be passed on in a targeted manner.
This can speed up the exchange of digital contact data. This represents a clear advantage over classic communication media such as social networks, email or SMS, since an email address or telephone number would normally always have to be spelled out or typed in beforehand. In the case of social networks, the profile data of certain users would first have to be searched for and found - sometimes laboriously (e.g. if the name is the same or if the name is common).
In addition, the data exchange in communication processes in the customer relationship (CRM process; Customer Relationship Management) can be facilitated, since contact data of potential leads are already passed on digitally and do not have to be scanned first.
This makes it easier to create contact and profile information and change contact information without having to reprint business cards. In principle, the process presented here also has the potential to replace printed business cards. An environmentally friendly aspect can be seen here, since paper no longer has to be used and no printing processes have to be carried out. In this way, profile data can be passed on in a user-controlled manner in both business and private areas without ver to go without. Since the transfer of profile data is contactless and everyone can call up this profile data on their own smartphone, a contribution is also made to protection against infection. Overall, it can be added that the functionality and scope of services of existing smartphones can be further improved, which represents better utilization of the existing technical infrastructure.
„cloud-less“ einsetzbar. An essential point of the concept described here concerns the fact that no central, coordinating server is required. Rather, it is a pure peer-to-peer method that can only be used between mobile communication devices without having to use the mobile network. Overall, the concept described can be used "server-less" or "cloud-less". This also enables use in areas where no mobile network or other network access is available.
In addition to the serverless property, it should also be emphasized that the function of the proposed concept also works reliably independently of location services. The simple local limitation of the broadcast signal is completely sufficient for this. In this way, the presented concept can also claim the attribute "location-service"-independently. No services such as GPS signals, beacon signals, WLAN location services, GSM triangulation, IMU (intertial measurement unit) based tracking, SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) or other location services are required to ensure safe functioning .
In addition to user profile data, other content in the form of other documents can also be distributed within the meeting group without having to access central servers or services.
Further exemplary embodiments are presented below, which can be valid both in connection with the method and with the corresponding system.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the method, the first broadcast signal can have a user-generated identifier in addition to the device identifier. In this case, the device identifier, which is transmitted by the broadcast signal to identify the communication device emitting the broadcast signal, can be predetermined by the type of broadcast signal. It can therefore be a connection identification (ID=identifier), as is the case for example with Bluetooth connections, it can also be an individual device ID; or in the case of communication based on the RS-232 communication standard (but implemented wirelessly), a device identifier can be selected individually.
In contrast, the user-generated identifier can be a freely selectable identifier that was explicitly chosen by a user for a meeting (e.g. “regulars’ table” or “contract negotiation for alternative energy supply”, “expert exchange on fuel cells” or similar). Typically, such a user-generated identifier would be exchanged or communicated to invited meeting participants by means of an electronic invitation, for example (e.g. calendar sharing, calendar entry by email or otherwise). From here it can be made known to the communication service in the communication device, forwarded to the communication service or retrieved by it (e.g. from a calendar entry).
According to an interesting embodiment of the method, the reference to the user profile can be the user profile itself. The reference to a publicly available profile, for example, would have the advantage that existing public information could easily be passed on to another user without jeopardizing the protection of personal data. On the other hand, since the user profile itself is sent instead of the reference to a user profile, it can be designed individually. The communication service can also be used to manage and edit several user profiles. Thus, the user can decide individually which user profile should be used. This would also be possible with a reference to a user profile; However, by using the communication service, the user would then have to choose between several publicly accessible profiles of the user - for example from different social communication platforms (e.g. LinkedlN, XING, Facebook, etc.).
The use of the public profiles would also have the advantage of lower network volume required and more elegant way of operating the communication service together with the mobile communication device.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the method can include determining a user-generated identifier after the transmission of the first broadcast signal and sending the determined user-generated identifier to other communication services that are already connected to the first communication service. In this case, the user-generated identifier is not already sent with the invitation to a meeting. Rather, it would be decided ad hoc that communication using the communication service would only be restricted to a limited number of communication devices or users of the same.
This would make sense if other users with their communication devices were also in the vicinity and also used the communication service - in other words, the necessary smartphone app. Without the user-generated identifier, which would only be known to participants in the meeting, or which would be known to the communication services of the communication devices of the participants (i.e. which can be accessed), any appropriately equipped communication device or its user would have access to the information of the meeting - for example the corresponding user profiles - can access. By blocking broadcast signals in or by the communication service in the event that a broadcast signal is also sent with a user-generated identifier, the group of users can be limited by the respective communication services in the respective communication devices of the respective user, so that the privacy of the participants in the meeting can be guaranteed without having to resort to additional security mechanisms.
According to an elegant embodiment of the method, the first communication service can be configured in such a way that it compares a user-generated identifier received with the second broadcast signal with a stored user-generated identifier. This does not have to be the case only during the return communication (i.e. when the second broadcast signal is received), but can also already take place here in a second communication device using the second communication service. This means that the second communication device or the second communication service receives the user-generated identifier received with the first broadcast signal from the first communication device and compares it with a user-generated identifier known there by the second communication service. If there is no match, the corresponding communication service may ignore the broadcast signal and/or send a response broadcast signal. Alternatively, the respective communication service could check the reference sent with the broadcast signal to a user profile via a second (secondary) list and, if necessary, display an indication that there is no match with a known user-generated identifier.
In addition, a time stamp can also be provided with the user-generated identifier, which refers to a start time or a time interval for a specific meeting. The respective communication service can also carry out a check with regard to such a time stamp. In this way, two users or their respective mobile communication devices with the associated communication services can determine whether participation in the respective meeting is correct at a specific point in time.
Due to the complete symmetry - i.e. all communication services used here are identical in their function - it does not matter which of the meeting participants takes the initiative, i.e. sends out the first broadcast signal.
According to a further elegant embodiment of the method, the signal standard for the broadcast signals can correspond to the Bluetooth communication standard. However, the signals between the mobile communication devices - or indirectly the communication services - can use other communication standards, which are based, for example, on IR signals (infrared), pWLAN signals, NFC (near field communication) or an interaction of the screen or another light source ( e.g. flashlight) of the first communication device with a camera of a second communication device. It is assumed for all communication services that they are completely upwardly compatible on their respective version (from V.1). In addition, a different communication channel can be selected for a broadcast signal than for a response broadcast signal. A mix of communication standards would be possible, which would further increase the aspect of data security. The respective communication services in the communication devices can be configured or configurable accordingly.
According to a further developed embodiment of the method, it can additionally be provided that an activation signal is received before a broadcast signal is transmitted. In this way, the user can retain full control and user profile data is not sent in an uncontrolled manner. The activation signal can be a user action: e.g. a gesture such as swiping or tapping on a certain area of a touch-sensitive screen, shaking the smartphone or tapping on an object, or voice-activated activation.
According to another further developed embodiment, the method can additionally have at least one of the following characteristics when stored: the aggregated list of participants, the reference to the user profile, a time stamp, a location, a reference to another document or other data. Other documents can be, for example, a presentation, a photo/image, a description, a spreadsheet, a voice file, a video file, and so on. The respective communication services and, protected by the user-generated identification code, the participants in a meeting can therefore link further information to this meeting. The storage (what and where) can be controlled or controlled by the respective communication service. In this way, each user has a sort of history function after the meeting, so that it can be understood which documents - ie meeting context information - were shared during the meeting.
Furthermore, embodiments may relate to a computer program product, accessible from a computer-usable or computer-readable medium, having program code for use by, or in connection with, a computer or other instruction processing system. In the context of this specification, a computer-usable or computer-readable medium can be any device suitable for storing, communicating, transmitting, or transporting program code.

DETAILLIERTE FIGURENBESCHREIBUNGDETAILED FIGURE DESCRIPTION
In the context of this specification, conventions, terms and/or expressions should be understood as follows:
The term 'mobile communication device' in the context of this description can refer to a smartphone. The term smartphone is to be interpreted broadly. In particular, this should also include tablet computers, personal computers, network computers, etc., which essentially can fulfill the function of a smartphone—regardless of the form factor. In particular, reference is made to the example of a functionally similar smartwatch.
The term 'meeting context information' can mean data that is relevant in the context of a meeting of people. This can initially include location and time details as well as further information in the form of presentations or other documents. A history of a meeting process (a kind of protocol) and also a sequence of meetings can be created in this way.
The term 'user profile' can describe data that is available individually for a user. A user can use different user profiles or user data depending on the context. The user profiles can contain information about the user, but in a broader sense also relate to other data that may be necessary or relevant in connection with a meeting.
Grundsätzlich ist es möglich, den Kommunikationsservice auch hardwaremäßig - z.B. mittels ASICs - zu implementierenThe term 'communication service' can describe a software application - for example in the form of an app on a smartphone. In addition, functionally identical software applications on the devices described above can be meant. In principle, it is possible to implement the communication service in terms of hardware - e.g. using ASICs
The term "broadcast signal" can describe a radio signal that can use different communication channels. These can be based on radio frequencies (for example Bluetooth or WLAN or other corresponding standards), but they can also be implemented on the basis of ultrasound or light signals. A broadcast signal is sent out to trigger a response signal from another mobile communication device. This in turn can also be sent out as a broadcast signal, which in principle can be picked up by any other technically suitable device. However, the respective communication service ensures that certain filter functions are used so that the user only sees or makes available those answers that can pass these specific filter functions (e.g. timeout, same user-generated identification code, ...).
The term 'can be received within a predefined radius' means that the broadcast signal has a field strength that can be received by smartphones under normal conditions. This can vary in a free, undeveloped space with a radius of 1m to 12m or up to 10-11m or up to 8-9m or 6-7m or up to 4-5m or 2-3m; further limitations result from buildings (walls, doors). I.e. outside the set radius, the broadcast signal would not be easily receivable by another smartphone. The term 'radius' can also be understood here in a more abstract way - i.e. not necessarily circular. Walls in a room can change the broadcast signal so that it is no longer strictly circular. However, this does not affect the need for the local limitation of the broadcast signal.
Ausführungsbeispiele für das entsprechende System beschrieben:A detailed description of the figures is given below. It goes without saying that all details and instructions in the figures are shown schematically. First, a flowchart-like representation of an embodiment of the computer-implemented method according to the invention for a mobile communication device for recognizing meeting context information in another mobile communication device is presented. Further exemplary embodiments or exemplary embodiments for the corresponding system are described below:
Alternatively, a user profile that is stored on another, remote system can also be used. This can be a user profile from a social network, for example. In this case, a reference would be used, for example in the form of a URL (universal resource locator). In this case, the user profile storage could be used for the corresponding link address (URL). Instead of the reference to a user profile, it can also be the user profile itself. Ideally, the smartphone user selects a user profile that is best suited for the upcoming meeting to be supported by the app.
In addition, an automatic selection from one of several profiles is possible. For example, a time period, a day of the week or a time period within a day are conceivable as influencing factors for the selection. For example, on a weekend or on other free days (e.g. holidays), a leisure user profile would be selected or first suggested, which the user would have to confirm. The same applies to the specific time, e.g. a time after the regular daily termination of an employment relationship, for example from 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. In addition, the automatic selection of the user profile can also be based on other measurable parameters. Another possible parameter would be a specific location or a specific meeting ID (identifier) - i.e. the already mentioned user-generated identifier. In this way, the first communication service can relieve the user of routine tasks.
Furthermore, the
Furthermore, the
In this case, it is optionally possible for the second user to use an input signal to prevent the second broadcast signal from being sent by the second mobile communication device. In addition, he can influence the type of user profile sent out by the second user, just as the first user was already able to do with the first communication service.
Typically, the first broadcast signal and the second broadcast signal would use the same communication standard. However, it is also possible that the second broadcast signal is based on a different communication standard. For example, the first broadcast signal could be based on Bluetooth, while the second broadcast signal is based on ultrasound, for example. Other combinations are possible. In this way, the security of the communication could be increased in a communication service-controlled manner. In addition, it is possible for the communication channel for the second broadcast signal to be prescribed by the first broadcast signal. In this case, the second mobile communication device would automatically select the other communication channel, controlled by the associated communication service. In the event that the second mobile communication device cannot meet this required communication standard, it is possible to provide that instead of a single other communication channel, which is prescribed with the broadcast signal for a response (i.e. the 2nd broadcast signal), a list with priorities of communication channels is sent by the second broadcast signal. In this way, there is a high probability that the communication channel used for the second broadcast signal is different from that used for the first broadcast signal.
To make this possible, forwarding 108 the received second broadcast signal to the first communication service is part of the
In addition to the first broadcast signal, which is sent out by the first communication service or the associated smartphone, the user-generated identifier is received by the second smartphone user or by the second smartphone or the associated communication service, 202, which is part of the first Broadcast signal was sent out. However, the second communication service does not "know" the user-generated identifier (is unknown, 204) since it was not previously received. The user of the associated smartphone, for example, came to a meeting later without having previously received an invitation with the user-generated identifier. Normally, the processing would now be aborted in the second communication service, since there is no match between the received identifier and an existing user-generated identifier.
However, the communication service can be configured in such a way that in such a case a message appears on the display of the second communication device (i.e. second smartphone) and allows the user-generated identifier to be entered. The second user can receive this verbally or in writing and enter it into his communication device, 206 (receiving the user-generated identifier). This authorization can now lead to an exchange of data—specifically with the first mobile communication device or the associated first communication service—related to the user-generated identifier. For this purpose, the second communication service sends out a request for data exchange (via the described mechanism "operating system and smartphone hardware").
If the first communication service receives this request for data exchange, it can - by means of the associated smartphone - send out at least parts of other user profiles it has already received, 208. This would mean that a further user or his smartphone who was initially added unplanned would be included in the group of people attending a meeting belonging smartphones.
In the event that a user-generated identifier would be used, only the
A response to the transmitted broadcast signal can then be made by a plurality of other mobile radio systems/mobile communication systems/smartphones. Therefore, the
First, the response broadcast signal from a second smartphone is received with a second functionally equivalent communication service. This second broadcast signal (BC signal) also has a second user profile, which is received by the smartphone hardware or the corresponding operating system, 214. The second user profile is then forwarded 516 to the first communication service in the first mobile communication device .
