Description
ANWENDUNGSGEBIET UND STAND DER TECHNIKAREA OF APPLICATION AND STATE OF THE ART
The invention relates to a dialyzer, a dialysis machine and a kit and a method for producing a dialyzer.
Hollow fibers are used as semipermeable membranes (so-called hollow fiber membranes) in the manufacture of dialyzers, among other things. Dialyzers are filter modules for extracorporeal blood treatment, such as hemodialysis, hemofiltration and hemodiafiltration. Such hollow fibers can also be referred to as membrane fibers.
Dialyzers represent the heart of a dialysis machine. Dialyzers usually have a tubular dialyzer housing with a longitudinal extension. Hollow or membrane fibers arranged parallel to one another are arranged in the interior of the dialyzer. The blood to be treated or cleaned flows through the interior of the hollow fibers, while the exterior of the hollow fibers and the interior of the dialyzer housing are traversed by a dialysate in opposite directions. Through the semi-permeable membranes of the hollow fibers, both water and mass transfer take place. In particular, water and pollutants are withdrawn from a patient's blood.
The disadvantage is that when the wrapping film is pulled out of the dialyzer housing, so-called kinked fibers can arise as a result of individual hollow fibers being bent over. These fibers cannot be potted with the potting compound, for example polyurethane, at their axial end sections and therefore do not have their opening in the extracorporeal blood circuit but in the dialysis fluid circuit. The result is that when the dialyzer is used as intended, a blood leak occurs, i.e. blood flows into the dialysate circuit of a dialysis machine. For this reason, dialyzers must be checked for the presence of such a defect as part of an integrity test prior to delivery. The dialyzers affected by this represent undesirable rejects. The presence of kinked fibers is the cause of about 2% to 5% of the rejects in dialyzers. This means that kinked fibers are a significant cause of rejects from a production point of view.
The phenomenon of kinked fibers increases with the packing density, i.e. the number of hollow fibers which are wrapped by the envelope film. As the packing density increases, the hollow fibers exert increasing pressure on the wrapping film from the inside. As a result, after the wrapped hollow fiber bundle has been inserted into the dialyzer housing, the wrapping film is clamped between the housing of the dialyzer and the hollow fibers. With increasing pressure, however, the risk increases that more and more fibers will be taken along and kinked when pulling out the enveloping film. This in turn has the consequence that the packing density of the hollow fibers that can in principle be achieved is limited by the risk of the occurrence of rejects caused by kink fibers. However, a high packing density of the hollow fibers has great advantages for the user. Due to the higher packing density of the hollow fibers, the dialyzer can be vented more easily without turning.
AUFGABE UND LÖSUNGTASK AND SOLUTION
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a dialyzer which avoids the disadvantages mentioned at the beginning in connection with conventional dialyzers, in particular reduces or even completely eliminates the risk of rejects caused by kink fibers. Another object of the invention is to provide a dialysis machine and a kit and a method for producing a dialyzer.
The aforementioned objects are achieved according to the invention by a dialyzer with the features of independent claim 1, a dialysis machine according to
According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a dialyzer.
The dialyzer has a large number of hollow fibers. The hollow fibers are designed to be semi-permeable, i.e. both water and mass transfer are possible via the walls of the hollow fibers. The hollow fibers are typically polymeric hollow fibers. For example, the hollow fibers can be formed from polysulfone. The hollow fibers can have a length of 5 cm to 200 cm, in particular 10 cm to 100 cm, preferably 15 cm to 45 cm. Furthermore, the hollow fibers can have a wall thickness of 10 μm to 200 μm, in particular 15 μm to 50 μm, preferably 20 μm to 40 μm. Furthermore, the hollow fibers can have an internal diameter of 50 μm to 2 mm, in particular 100 μm to 500 μm, preferably 150 μm to 250 μm. Furthermore, the hollow fibers can have an external diameter of 60 μm to 3 mm, in particular 100 μm to 1 mm, preferably 160 μm to 300 μm.
The plurality of hollow fibers is or the hollow fibers are arranged in a housing, i.e. in an inner space of a housing, of the dialyzer. The multiplicity of hollow fibers is or the hollow fibers are expediently extended in the longitudinal direction of the dialyzer housing and in particular arranged next to one another transversely to the longitudinal direction of the dialyzer housing. The hollow fibers are preferably arranged parallel or essentially parallel to one another.
The housing of the dialyzer is usually tubular. In principle, the housing can have a circular, elliptical, oval or polygonal, for example triangular, rectangular, square, pentagonal or hexagonal cross section. The housing of the dialyzer is preferably designed as a round tube, i.e. as a tube with a circular cross-section.
The dialyzer according to the present invention is particularly characterized in that the large number of hollow fibers or the hollow fibers in the housing of the dialyzer is or are wrapped in a textile fabric, the textile fabric being permeable to liquids, in particular permeable to water and / or dialysate, and / or is designed to be at least partially, in particular only partially or completely, water-soluble. Due to the textile fabric, the hollow fibers are preferably bundled together, i.e. in the form of a hollow fiber bundle. The hollow fiber bundle can have a circular, elliptical, oval or polygonal, for example triangular, rectangular, square, pentagonal or hexagonal cross section. The hollow fiber bundle preferably has a circular cross section.
The textile planar structure wound around the hollow fibers or the hollow fiber bundle can also be referred to as a textile wrapper or textile wrapper in the context of the present invention. In this case, the hollow fibers or the hollow fiber bundle can be wrapped in one or more layers, in particular at least in sections, preferably only in sections, in three layers, of the textile fabric.
The expression “dialysate-permeable” used in the context of the textile fabric should be understood in the sense of the present invention as a textile fabric which is permeable to a dialysate.
In the context of the present invention, the expression “dialysate” is to be understood as an aqueous solution which is used in renal replacement therapy, in particular in hemodialysis, in order to absorb dissolved substances from the blood and / or to release it into it. The dialysate has, in particular, electrolytes, glucose and buffers in a composition that basically corresponds to that of the blood serum.
- Because the textile fabric is liquid-permeable and / or at least partially water-soluble, it does not offer any significant resistance to dialysate flow during intended use of the dialyzer and a potting compound for producing hollow fiber embedding during production of the dialyzer.
- - By lowering the reject rate, the manufacturing costs of the dialyzer can be noticeably reduced.
- - If the textile fabric is designed to be water-soluble, it can after the introduction of the hollow fibers wrapped with the textile fabric into a dialyzer housing during the leak test of the hollow fibers (by means of the so-called bubble test), with which dialyzers Water can be rinsed, dissolved and flushed out of the dialyzer housing.
- Because the textile fabric can remain in the dialyzer and / or can be at least partially water-soluble, disposal of the textile fabric is not necessary.
- It is also advantageous that a higher packing density of the hollow fibers and therefore in particular a larger diameter of the hollow fiber bundle can be selected than is the case with conventional dialyzers. This significantly simplifies the handling of the dialyzer according to the invention. A higher packing density allows in particular a rotation-free and therefore simpler venting of the dialyzer.
- - Finally, there is another advantage that the textile fabric can be specifically functionalized, whereby the textile fabric can take on additional tasks, such as the task of a DNA and / or endotoxin and / or bacteria and / or virus adsorber.
In an embodiment of the invention, the textile fabric has a pore diameter, in particular a mean pore diameter, of 0.1 μm to 10 mm, in particular 200 μm to 1 mm, preferably 1 mm to 5 mm. The pore diameter, in particular the mean pore diameter, of the textile fabric is preferably determined by means of mercury porosimetry. The pore diameters disclosed in this paragraph have proven to be particularly advantageous from the point of view of the liquid permeability of the textile fabric.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the textile fabric is designed as a nonwoven or nonwoven, preferably as a nonwoven.
In the context of the present invention, the term “nonwoven” is to be understood as meaning a structure made of fibers, in particular staple fibers (staple fibers) and / or continuous fibers (filaments), and / or yarns, in particular cut yarns, of any type and of any origin, which are based on any Were joined together to form a fleece (a fiber layer or a fiber pile) and in some way connected to one another, whereby the interlacing or entangling of fibers or yarns, as is the case in weaving, knitting, lace manufacture, braiding and the manufacture of tufted products happens, is excluded.
In the context of the present invention, the term “yarn” is to be understood as meaning linear textile structures made of two or more fibers.

Ferner kann das Vlies oder der Vliesstoff ein Flächengewicht von 0,1 g/mm2 bis 500 g/mm2, insbesondere 1 g/mm2 bis 100 g/mm2, vorzugsweise 10 g/mm2 bis 50 g/mm2, aufweisen.Furthermore, the nonwoven fabric or the nonwoven fabric can have a weight per unit area of 0.1 g / mm 2 to 500 g / mm 2 , in particular 1 g / mm 2 to 100 g / mm 2 , preferably 10 g / mm 2 to 50 g / mm 2 , exhibit.
Ferner kann das Vlies oder der Vliesstoff eine Luftdurchlässigkeit von 10 l/m2s bis 10000 l/m2, insbesondere 100 l/m2s bis 5000 l/m2s, vorzugsweise 1000 l/m2s bis 5000 l/m2s, aufweisen.Furthermore, the fleece or the fleece can have an air permeability of 10 l / m2s to 10,000 l / m2, in particular 100 l / m2s to 5000 l / m2s, preferably 1000 l / m2s to 5000 l / m2s.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the textile fabric is designed as a fabric.
In the context of the present invention, the term “fabric” is to be understood as meaning a textile fabric consisting of two thread systems, namely warp (warp threads) and weft (weft threads), which are at an angle of exactly or approximately 90 ° when viewed from the fabric surface cross according to pattern.
The fabric can have rectangular or square meshes.
Furthermore, the fabric can have threads, in particular yarns and / or twisted threads, and / or fibers with a diameter of 1 μm to 1 mm, in particular 10 μm to 100 μm, preferably 20 μm to 50 μm.
In the context of the present invention, the expression “twisted yarn” is to be understood as meaning a linear textile made of several yarns twisted together.
Furthermore, the fabric can have threads, in particular yarns and / or twisted threads, and / or fibers with a length-related mass of 1 dtex to 150 dtex, in particular 1 dtex to 10 dtex, preferably 1 dtex to 3 dtex.

Furthermore, the fabric can have a mesh fineness of 0.1 mesh to 1000 mesh, in particular 1 mesh to 200 mesh, preferably 1 mesh to 50 mesh.
In the context of the present invention, the expression “fineness of fabric” should be understood to mean the number of meshes of the fabric per English inch (25.4 mm).
Furthermore, the tissue can have a pitch of 0.01 mm to 100 mm, in particular 1 mm to 20 mm, preferably 2 mm to 10 mm.
In the context of the present invention, the expression “pitch” should be understood to mean the spacing of the threads and / or fibers of the fabric from thread center to thread center and / or from fiber center to fiber center. If the fabric is, for example, a fabric with square meshes, the division in the warp and weft directions is the same.
Furthermore, the fabric can be designed as a plain, twill or atlas weave, i.e. the warp and weft threads can be crossed in plain, twill or atlas weave.

Alternatively, the textile fabric can be designed as a knitted or knitted fabric.
In particular, the textile fabric can be designed in the form of a network.
The textile fabric, in particular fibers and / or threads, in particular yarns and / or twisted threads, of the textile fabric, preferably has a weldable material or consists of such a material. The weldable material is preferably a weldable polymer. With regard to suitable weldable polymers, reference is made to the polymers described below. As a result, a secure closure or secure fixation of the flat textile structure (with the formation of a textile wrap or a textile wrap), in particular without additional adhesives such as adhesive strips, can be achieved with particular advantage. According to the invention, it is therefore preferred if the flat textile structure wound around the hollow fibers is fixed or closed without additional adhesives, in particular without adhesive strips.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the textile fabric has fibers with a fiber core and a fiber sheath surrounding the fiber core at least partially, in particular only partially or completely, preferably completely, i.e. fibers with a core-sheath structure. The fibers are preferably multicomponent fibers, in particular bicomponent fibers.
In the context of the present invention, the expression “multicomponent fibers” should be understood to mean fibers which have at least two firmly but separable interconnected polymers with different chemical and / or physical structures or consist of at least two such polymers.
In the context of the present invention, the expression “bicomponent fibers” is to be understood as meaning fibers which have only two firmly but separable interconnected polymers with different chemical and / or physical structures or consist only of two such polymers.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the fiber core has a fiber core polymer and the fiber cladding has a fiber cladding polymer, the fiber core polymer having a higher melting point than the fiber cladding polymer. As a result, secure fixation or secure closure of the textile fabric wrapped around the hollow fibers is particularly advantageously possible, in particular without, for example, the risk of the wrapped textile fabric being welded through and consequently damaging the wrapped hollow fibers. For example, a welding temperature can be selected to fix or close the wound textile fabric, at which the fiber cladding polymer melts, but not the fiber core polymer. In this way, the passage of a welding bar onto the hollow fibers can be prevented.
The melting point of the fiber core polymer is preferably at least 10 ° C., in particular at least 20 ° C., preferably at least 30 ° C., higher than the melting point of the fiber cladding polymer.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the fiber sheath polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyamides, copolyamides, polyamide 6 (PA 6 or polycaprolactam), polyamide 6.6 (PA 6.6, ie polyamide produced by polymerizing hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid), polyamide 6T (PA 6T , ie polyamide, produced by polymerizing hexamethylenediamine and terephthalic acid), polyamide 6.9 (PA 6.9, ie polyamide, produced by polymerizing hexamethylenediamine and azelaic acid), polyamide 6.12 (PA 6.12, ie polyamide, produced by polymerizing hexamethylenediamine and dodecanedioic acid or caprolactam and laurolactam), polyamide 11 (PA 11 or 11-aminoundecanoic acid), polyamide 12 (

Furthermore, it is preferred that the middle layer and an inner layer of the three-layer winding structure are not connected to one another, in particular not by a material connection such as a welded connection. As a result, the risk of damage to the hollow fibers wrapped by the textile fabric can be significantly reduced or even completely eliminated. The inner layer of the three-layer winding structure thus preferably serves exclusively as a protective layer for the wrapped hollow fibers. In the context of the present invention, the expression “outer layer” should be understood to mean the position of the three-layer winding structure which, in relation to the middle layer and inner layer of the three-layer winding structure, has the greatest distance from the wrapped hollow fibers. In the context of the present invention, the expression “inner layer” should be understood to mean the position of the three-layer winding structure which, in relation to the outer layer and the middle layer of the three-layer winding structure, has the smallest distance from the wrapped hollow fibers. In the context of the present invention, the expression “middle layer” should be understood to mean the position of the three-layer winding structure which is arranged between the outer layer and the inner layer of the three-layer winding structure.

With regard to further features and advantages of the kit, reference is made in full to the statements made in the context of the first aspect of the invention and to the description below. The features and advantages described there in relation to the dialyzer, in particular the large number of hollow fibers, the housing of the dialyzer and the textile sheet-like structure, also apply mutatis mutandis to the kit according to the third aspect of the invention.
According to a fourth aspect, the invention relates to a method for producing a dialyzer, in particular according to the first aspect of the invention.
- - Wrapping a large number of hollow fibers with a textile fabric, the textile fabric being liquid-permeable, in particular water- and / or dialysate-permeable, and / or at least partially, in particular only partially or completely, water-soluble, and
- - Introducing the multitude of hollow fibers wrapped with the textile fabric into a housing of the dialyzer.
The hollow fibers are preferably produced by means of a hollow fiber spinning plant, in particular by means of a continuously operating hollow fiber spinning plant.
The hollow fibers emerging from the hollow fiber spinning plant are preferably wound up, usually in batches. The hollow fibers can be wound up by means of a reel device, for example by means of a reel wheel. The reel device is preferably uniform Circumferentially distributed winding mandrels on which the hollow fibers can rest. This allows the hollow fibers to be stretched freely between the winding mandrels. The distances between the winding mandrels can preferably be selected so that a hollow fiber bundle is created between each two winding mandrels. These hollow fiber bundles are preferably wrapped around by means of the textile fabric in such a way that the hollow fiber bundle has a circular cross-section with a predetermined, defined diameter.
Preferably, so many hollow fibers are wrapped in the textile fabric that the resulting wrapped hollow fiber bundle has an excess of 1% to 30%, based on the inner diameter of the housing of the dialyzer.
Furthermore, it is preferred that the hollow fibers are wrapped with the textile fabric to form a three-layer winding structure at least in sections, in particular only in sections. Preferably only an outer layer and a middle layer of the three-layer winding structure are connected to one another, in particular by a material connection, preferably by a welded connection. In particular, the outer layer and the middle layer of the three-layer winding structure are materially connected to one another, preferably welded to one another, in the longitudinal direction of the wound flat textile structure. Furthermore, it is preferred that the middle layer and an inner layer of the three-layer winding structure are not connected to one another, in particular not by a material connection such as a welded connection.
The outer layer and the middle layer of the three-layer winding structure are particularly preferably connected to one another by thermal pulse welding. Alternatively, the outer layer and the middle layer of the three-layer winding structure can be connected to one another by other plastic welding processes, such as, for example, heatable tools or laser welding processes.
With regard to further features and advantages of the method, reference is made in full to the statements made in the context of the first aspect of the invention and to the description below. The features and advantages described there in relation to the dialyzer, in particular the large number of hollow fibers, the housing of the dialyzer and the textile fabric, also apply mutatis mutandis to the method according to the fourth aspect of the invention.
