Abstract

The present invention relates to a medical table connection (800) for connecting instruments for use in medical treatment, in particular a surgical skull holding device (1000), to an operating table (O), the table connection (800) having: a rod (801) for releasably connecting the table attachment (800) to the surgical skull holding device (1000); a first side member (811a) and a second side member (811b) each movably mounted on the rod (801) relative to the rod (801); a first clamping or plugging section (821a) and a second clamping or plugging section (821b) which are arranged on the first side part (811a) and the second side part (811b) so as to be movable relative thereto; the first clamping or plug-in section (821a) and/or the second clamping or plug-in section (821b) having a first or a second clamping rail (823a, 823b) and/or a first or second plug-in projection (825a, 825b) or openings for receiving the first or second plug-in projection (825a, 825b) in sections.

Description

The present invention relates to a medical table connection according to claim 1 and a set according to claim 9 or according to the preambles or generic terms of these claims.

During a number of head surgery procedures, it is important to keep the patient's head in the desired position. In practice, skull clamps are used for this purpose. They become stationary, e.g. B. attached to the operating table, and have pins that apply pressure to the bony skull from different sides of the head to clamp the skull between them.

One object of the present invention is to specify a table connection (herein also referred to as a medical table connection, since it is intended for use in a medical environment) and a set.

The object of the invention is achieved by a medical table connection for connecting a medical instrument, e.g. B. a skull holding device, with the features of claim 1 and a set with the features of claim 9 solved.

For this purpose, the present invention proposes a medical table connection (hereinafter also abbreviated to: table connection) for connecting instruments for use in medical treatment, in particular for connecting a surgical skull holding device to an operating table.

The table connection has a rod which is suitable and intended to provide a detachable connection between the table connection and the instrument, e.g. B. So the surgical skull holding device to allow by the instrument can be attached to the rod.

Furthermore, the table connection has a first side part and a second side part, which are preferably each arranged on the rod so that they can be moved relative to the rod, in particular so that they can be moved in rotation and/or translation.

The table connection also has a first clamping and/or plug-in section and a second clamping and/or plug-in section. The clamping or plug-in sections, which can be configured identically or differently from one another, are preferably movable relative to the first side part or the second side part, in particular rotatory and/or translatory movable, arranged on the latter.

The first clamping or plug-in section and/or the second clamping or plug-in section preferably have a first or a second clamping rail. Alternatively or additionally, they preferably have a first or second plug-in projection or openings for receiving the first or second plug-in projection in sections.

The present invention also proposes a set with a medical table connection according to the invention.

The kit optionally further includes either a plurality of rods, a plurality of male protrusions, a skull holder, or other instrument, and/or an operating table.

The set optionally also includes a plurality of rods for the detachable connection of the table connection to the surgical skull holding device or another instrument, the rods differing from one another in at least one geometric feature.

The set also optionally includes a large number of plug-in projections, with the plug-in projections differing from one another in terms of geometry, the diameter of their free end section and/or their length.

The optional skull holding device includes a skull clamp having a first arm and a second arm. Both the first arm and the second arm, if present, each have at least one pin. Optionally, the pins and/or other elements for contacting and holding the skull are provided. The sections carrying the pins or contact elements, e.g. B. the arms are arranged such that the skull can be received or clamped between them.

Optionally, one or both of the arms has a section--in use or in the figures attached here--horizontally and section-wise ascending therefrom. The horizontal sections of the two arms can be connected to one another in an adjustable manner, for example by means of a ratchet or toothed splint.

The skull holding device also optionally includes further inputs and devices for connecting it to the skull clamp.

The optional operating table has at least one rail, an edge, a side section or the like, which can be inserted into the first and/or the second clamping rail designed or suitable table connection according to the invention. The size of the rail of the operating table and the clamping rails of the table connection can preferably be matched to one another, for example in such a way that it can be pushed in without tools, without the play between the rail and clamping rail allowing wobbling or undesired wobbling in the clamped state.

Alternatively or additionally, the operating table has at least one receiving opening for receiving the first and/or the second plug-in projection of the table connection according to the invention, or at least the free end thereof. The receiving opening of the operating table and the plug-in projections (alternatively: insertion projections) of the table connection can preferably be matched to one another in terms of size, for example in such a way that it can be pushed in without tools, without the play between the receiving opening and the plug-in projection allowing wobbling or undesired wobbling in the inserted state would.

Embodiments according to the invention can have one or more of the features mentioned above and/or below in any combination, provided that the specific embodiment is not recognizable as technically impossible for the person skilled in the art.

In all of the following statements, the use of the expression “can be” or “can have” etc. is to be understood synonymously with “is preferably” or “has preferably” etc. and is intended to explain an embodiment according to the invention.

Whenever numerical words are mentioned herein, the person skilled in the art understands them as indicating a numerical lower limit. If this does not lead to a discernible contradiction for the person skilled in the art, the person skilled in the art always reads “at least one” or “at least one” when specifying “a” or “an”. This understanding is also encompassed by the present invention, as is the interpretation that a numerical word such as "a" can alternatively be meant as "exactly one" wherever this is clearly technically possible for a person skilled in the art. Both are encompassed by the present invention and apply to all numerals used herein.

If spatial information such as "above", "below", "horizontal" etc. is given here, this is preferably to be understood as referring to the intended use of the object according to the invention. In case of doubt, they refer to the representation in the figures.

If it is disclosed herein that the object according to the invention has one or more features in a specific embodiment, it is also disclosed herein that the object according to the invention expressly does not have this or these features in other embodiments that are also according to the invention, e.g. B. in the sense of a disclaimer. For each embodiment mentioned herein, the contrary embodiment, for example formulated as a negation, is also disclosed.

Advantageous further developments of the present invention are the subject matter of subclaims and embodiments.

Where reference is made herein to an embodiment, this represents an exemplary embodiment according to the invention.

In some embodiments of the table connection according to the invention, the first and/or the second clamping rail can each have at least one clamping device or be connected to one. The clamping device can be a clamping screw, for example. By means of the clamping device, a rail of the operating table, which was inserted into the clamping rail, can be clamped against unintentional loosening by means of a force fit and/or form fit.

Other attachment mechanisms in the first and/or second clamping rail are also encompassed by the present invention.

The clamping rail can have a cross-sectional area or enclose it entirely or partially, which is completely or partially filled by the rail of the operating table pushed into the clamping rail during use. This, or another cross-sectional area of the clamping rail, may have non-parallel side surfaces (e.g. the upper and lower side surfaces or the end side surfaces) and/or one or two side surfaces which lead to the side surface which is the longest of the side surfaces which, in use, is vertical or is the side surface that accounts for the height or width of the clamping rail in use, do not stand vertically.

The clamping bar may have a cross-sectional area in the form of a recessed dovetail, or a cross-sectional area with a half dovetail, e.g. B. in an upper section on which the inserted rail of the operating table is applied from below, but not in a lower section, which is facing the inserted rail with its underside.

The tensioning device or other fastening mechanism can be designed to reach or be able to reach sufficiently far into the lumen or the cross-sectional area of the clamping rails to also be able to securely clamp rails that have a smaller height than the lumen or the cross-sectional area. Thus, it can be provided that the free end of the clamping device can protrude at least 0.5 cm, 1 cm, 1.5 cm or more into the lumen/the cross-sectional area when used as intended.

The above-mentioned embodiments allow rails of different widths and/or heights to be clamped using the clamping rails of the table connection.

In some embodiments, the first and/or the second plug-in projection of the table connection according to the invention can be provided interchangeably in the respective clamping or plug-in section.

In some embodiments, the rod of the medical table connection according to the invention has a rectangular or square cross-section, in particular a square or a non-square cross-section. The rod can have this cross section in the region of its connection(s) to the at least one side part, the at least one side part having a corresponding opening or through-opening with a corresponding cross section, into which the rod can be inserted. The rod may or may not have further cross-sections of different shape or cross-sectional area along its length.

In some embodiments, the rod has a circular cross-section. The rod can have this cross section in the region of its connection(s) to the at least one side part, the at least one side part having a corresponding opening or through-opening with a corresponding cross section, into which the rod can be inserted. The rod may or may not have further cross-sections of different shape or area along its length.

In some embodiments, the rod is designed to be telescopic or otherwise variable in length.

Provision can be made within the scope of the invention for the rods mentioned herein to be available in various lengths in some embodiments of the set. This advantageously increases the possibilities of adapting the table connection to operating tables of different widths. The length of the rods can preferably be between 40 cm and 120 cm, preferably between 50 cm and 100 cm.

Furthermore, according to the invention, in some embodiments of the set several plug-in projections can be provided, which can have different lengths and/or different diameters at their free end, as each end which is to be inserted into the receiving opening of the operating table. For example, those plug-in projections of the set that have a first diameter can be used to connect to a first operating table, whereas other plug-in projections of the set that have a second diameter different from the first can be used to connect to a second operating table.

In some embodiments of the table connection according to the invention, the first side part and/or the second side part can each be arranged so as to be movable relative to the rod or can be accommodated on it. The movement can in particular be rotatable and/or translatory. In this way, the side parts, z. B. after loosening locking elements such as clamping screws, screws, stops, etc. in their distance to each other can be changed. Alternatively or additionally, the rod can be rotated about its longitudinal axis relative to the first and/or second side part. B. the through-openings, on or in the - mostly not round in cross section - rod can improve their accessibility.

In some embodiments, the first side part and/or the second side part can have at least one rail. The splint can be designed in such a way that instruments or the like can be attached to it.

Alternatively, the first side part and/or the second side part can have threaded sections, in particular openings with an internal thread, for connecting such a rail to the first side part and/or the second side part.

The connection of the side part(s) and rail(s) takes place in particular at a distance from an arm or a main body to which the specific rail is attached, or from sections thereof, and/or with the formation of a gap or a passage between side part(s) and rail(s).

In some embodiments of the set according to the invention, the few correspond at least one rail of the operating table and the at least one rail attached at least in sections to the first side part and/or to the second side part. This can be the case because they are of the same width, height, depth, cross-section and/or material thickness. Instruments that are used to connect to the rail of the operating table, which is occupied by or connected to the clamping or plug-in section and is no longer available for connecting the instrument to it, can therefore advantageously be attached to the "spare" rail of the Table connection in the usual way, at least preferably be attached without adjustment. For this purpose, the set according to the invention can have differently configured rails.

In some embodiments of the set, the skull holding device comprises a tripod and/or a connection bridge for connecting the skull clamp to the rod of the table connection.

In certain embodiments, the table connection and/or the skull holding device has at least one section which is made of aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, plastic, carbon, composite material, a fiber-reinforced material or a combination thereof or has one of the materials mentioned here.

In some embodiments some, some, in particular any, or all elements of the table connection are radiolucent or X-ray transparent.

In some embodiments, a bar is a bar, a tube, a hollow profile and/or a solid material.

One or more of the above as well as the following advantages may be achieved with embodiments of the invention.

An advantage of the present invention is that the table connection according to the invention can be used on almost all common operating tables without great effort or modifications by means of the large number of adjustment options and optional accessories.

In some embodiments, aiming devices and/or other instruments can advantageously be attached to the table connection or to its rail(s).

The arrangement of the table connection together with the connection bridge of the skull holding device advantageously allows a large number of additional instruments and navigation connections to be attached.

The table connection according to the invention can advantageously be easily attached to or detached from common operating tables using the proposed plug connections or clamp connections, advantageously without tools.

The present invention is explained below by way of example with reference to the attached figures, some of which are simplified, in which identical reference symbols denote the same or similar components. In the figures:

1 shows a table connection 800 according to the invention for connecting a surgical skull holding device 1000 (see FIG 3 ) with an operating table O or sections thereof (see 3a, b ) in an exemplary, first embodiment in a perspective view from the top left.

The table connection 800 is suitable for being attached to the operating table O on the one hand. On the other hand, it holds z. B. the skull holding device 1000.

The table connection 800 der 1 has a rod 801, which is used for the detachable connection of the surgical skull holding device 1000 to the table connection 800.

The rod 801 has a middle section 801m and at least one, preferably two, end sections 801e.

The end portions 801e may have a smaller diameter and/or cross-sectional area than the middle portion 801m. They can have a round cross section, but the present invention also encompasses other cross-sectional shapes. A round cross-section allows for easy connection of rod 801 to other components of table attachment 800, as set forth herein.

A taper between middle section 801m and end sections 801e as in the example of FIG 1 is provided in some embodiments, not in other embodiments.

The rod 801 of the example of FIG 1 optionally has a plurality of openings or through-openings 840 as well as threaded sections 842 for fixing the skull holding device 1000 in its middle section 801m, the threaded sections 842 here being exemplarily arranged perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the through-openings 840 and each being able to be or are associated with a through-opening 840.

One, two or more connecting sections of the skull holding device 1000 can be fixed in the through openings 840 by means of one or more locking screws 841 which can be screwed into the threaded sections 842 . The setscrews 840 have handle portions for their easy opening and closing. The set screws 841 preferably fit into all threaded sections 842.

The rod 801 can have a rectangular or square cross-section, in particular a square cross-section, at the central section 801m with the through-openings 840 .

The restriction of the rod to the execution of the rod 801 of 1 is not wanted 1 is not to be construed as limiting. In particular, other cross sections are also covered by the present invention, for example continuously round or also rectangular, with or without rounded corners.

In certain embodiments, the rod 801 is designed to be telescopic.

Provision can be made for rods of different lengths to be available in order to be able to adapt the table connection 801 to any width of an operating table. Rods of different lengths can be part of the set according to the invention.

The table connection 800 also has a first side part 811a and optionally also a second side part 811b.

The side parts 811a, 811b can be connected to the rod 801, in particular in a detachable manner. For this purpose, for example, the rod 801 is inserted with its end sections into suitable, here optionally round, through-openings of the side parts 811a, 811b and fixed there by applying tension by means of the clamping screws 813. Such a design of the connection between the rod 801 and the side parts 811a, 811b means that the side parts are each advantageously rotatably and/or translationally movable, for example displaceable, relative to the rod 801. This offers a variety of degrees of freedom, especially when adjusting the elevation and windage.

The side parts 811a, 811b in each embodiment can be tapered starting from the place of their connection to the rod 801, as in FIG 1 shown. Here they become narrower or less deep towards their end, by means of which they are connected to the clamping or plug-in sections 821a, 821b described below.

The table connection 800 also has a first clamping or plug-in section 821a and a second clamping or plug-in section 821b, which are arranged on the first side part 811a or the second side part 811b so that they can move (rotationally and/or translationally) thereon. This connection can, for example, as in the present example 1 be realized with sprockets, which can be fixed in different positions or different angles by means of a fastening screw 815.

The first clamping or plug-in section 821a has a first clamping rail 823a and/or a first plug-in projection 825a. Alternatively or additionally, the second clamping or plug-in section 821b has a second clamping rail 823b and/or a second plug-in projection 825b. Alternatively, the first and/or second clamping or plug-in section 821a, 821b each have openings for receiving the first or second plug-in projection 825a, 825b in sections.

In the example of 1 the one first and/or one second clamping rail 823a, 823b each have at least one clamping screw 827a, 827b. Alternatively, they may be associated with one. Fixing devices other than instep screws, or in addition to these, may also be provided.

The clamping rail 823a, 823b has, for example, a cross-sectional area which, when in use, extends entirely or partially over the in 1 not shown rail of the operating table is pushed. The orientation of the clamping rail 823b allows a look into this area.

It can be seen that the upper side surface is not perpendicular to the side surface that is in 1 constitutes the height of the clamping bar 823b, while the lower lateral surface is perpendicular to the latter.

The clamping rail 823b thus has a cross-sectional area with a “half” dovetail, ie here in its upper area or section.

The clamping device 827a, 827b reaches sufficiently far into the lumen or the cross-sectional area of the clamping rails 823a, 823b in order to also be able to securely clamp rails which have a smaller height than the lumen or the cross-sectional area.

The first and/or the second plug-in projection 825a, 825b (also: plug-in section) are provided here in an optionally exchangeable manner in the clamping or plug-in section 821a, 821b. In particular, openings for the plug-in projections 825a, 825b are designed in such a way that they are suitable for receiving plug-in projections 825a, 825b, which in turn have different lengths, different geometries (groove, wrench flats, profile (e.g. dovetail) and/or on their free end can have different diameters.

In any embodiment, side parts 811a, 811b and clamping or plug-in sections 821a, 821b can together form a ring of stars, which can or allow the side part 811a, 811b and clamping or plug-in section 821a, 821b to rotate relative to one another by tightening or loosening a clamping screw can.

The skull holding device 1000 has a skull clamp 100 which has a first arm 101 and a second arm 103 .

The first arm 101 has a (based on its arrangement in 2 ) horizontal section 101h and a section 101a rising therefrom.

Likewise, the second arm 103 (based on its arrangement in 2 ) a horizontal section 103h and a section 103a rising therefrom.

The horizontal sections 101h and 103h can be permanently or detachably connected to one another. In each of these cases, they can be connected to one another so as to be adjustable relative to one another, for example by means of a toothed splint, a ratchet or the like.

In some embodiments, for attaching accessories or instruments to the skull support device 1000 z. B. at the horizontal sections 101h and 103h or the ascending sections 101a and 103a sprockets can be provided. In the example of 2 For example, a toothed ring 107 can be seen on the horizontal section 101a of the first arm 101, which can be used to detachably connect the skull holding device 1000 to a stand 115. Other interfaces or docking locations for attaching accessories or instruments to the skull support device 1000 may be provided. Both the first arm 101 and the second arm 103 each carry at least one pin for clamping the skull between them by means of their ascending sections 101a and 103a, with the ascending section 101a carrying two pins 101s and the ascending section 103a carrying one pin 103s .

The stand 115 can be provided to be attached to a connecting bridge 119 by means of a quick-action clamping device 117, preferably in a detachable manner. The connection bridge has at least one, preferably two, connecting sections 121 . These can be designed in such a way that they can be accommodated in the through-openings 840 of the table connection 800 and fixed therein by means of the locking screws 841 .

The depiction of the skull holding device 1000 in 2 is purely exemplary and not to be construed as limiting.

In the 3a and 3b is only the right section of a table connection according to the invention 1 shown to clarify possibilities of a connection with an operating table O. It goes without saying that the opposite section of the table connection can preferably also be connected to the operating table O in the same or a similar way.

The operating table O has at least one (receiving) opening A on at least one of its narrow sides, into which the second plug-in projection 825b of the table connection according to the invention can be received. The opening can be a through opening or a blind opening. Corresponding devices for fixing the plug-in projection 825b, for example clamping screws, can be provided in or on the opening of the operating table O.

One or more so-called rails can be provided on the operating table O, which are used to connect operating accessories, instruments and the like to the operating table O.

Such a rail is in 3a marked R as a section of an operating table. The rail R can be accommodated in the second clamping rail 823b and fixed there, preferably releasably, by means of the clamping screw 827b.

The following is about the differences between 1 and 4 pointed out, for the rest, reference is made to the description of the 1 Referenced to avoid repetition.

The rod 801 has in the example of 4 a rectangular cross-section, preferably with rounded corners and edges, the cross-section here being non-square.

In addition, there are no through openings in the rod 801 in this embodiment. A skull holding device 1000 can be fixed directly to the rod 801, for example by means of a clamping mechanism.

It can be seen that some or all of the side parts 811a, 811b can also be displaced laterally along the entire length of the rod 801 relative to the latter. In other embodiments, the side parts 811a, 811b can be slidably arranged along only a portion of the rod 801. In further embodiments, in which the rod has a round cross-section at least in sections, the side parts 811a, 811b can, for example, additionally, but also exclusively, be arranged so as to be rotatable. For this purpose, the exemplary clamping screws 813 of the side parts 811a, 811b can be loosened or loosened and tightened again after the target position has been reached.

In some embodiments, the rod 801 can be made of plastic, in particular fiber-reinforced, in order to be X-ray transparent.

A rail 847 can be fastened, preferably detachably, to the lateral threaded sections 845, see the preceding figures, by means of screws and spacers, which in turn can be used to attach instruments. The set can have one or more such rails 847 .

The dimensions of the rail 847 can correspond to the rails R already present on the operating table O. This has the advantage that clamps for additional accessories and/or instruments that are required during an operation can also be clamped or arranged on the rail 847, preferably in a detachable manner. In this way, rapid access to these can be guaranteed during an operation.

Medical table connection (800) for connecting instruments for use in medical treatment, in particular a surgical skull holding device (1000), with an operating table (O), the table connection (800) having: - a rod (801) for detachably connecting the table connection (800) to the surgical skull holding device (1000); - a first side part (811a) and a second side part (811b) which are each arranged on the rod (801) so as to be movable relative thereto; - A first clamping or plug-in section (821a) and a second clamping or plug-in section (821b) which are arranged on the first side part (811a) and the second side part (811b) so as to be movable relative thereto; the first clamping or plug-in section (821a) and/or the second clamping or plug-in section (821b) having a first or a second clamping rail (823a, 823b) and/or a first or second plug-in projection (825a, 825b) or openings for receiving the first or second plug-in projection (825a, 825b) in sections. Medical table connection (800) after claim 1 , wherein the first and/or the second clamping rail (823a, 823b) has or is connected to a clamping device (827a, 827b). Medical table connection (800) after claim 1 or 2 , wherein the first and/or the second plug-in projection (825a, 825b) are provided in the respective clamping or plug-in section (821a, 821b) in an interchangeable manner. Medical table connection (800) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the rod (801) has a rectangular or square cross-section, in particular a square cross-section. A medical table attachment (800) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the rod (801) has a circular cross-section. Medical table connection (800) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the rod (801) is designed to be telescopic. Medical table connection (800) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the first side part (811a) and/or the second side part (811b) are each arranged to be movable relative to the rod (801), in particular rotatably and/or translationally displaceable. Medical table connection (800) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the first side part (811a) and/or the second side part (811b) has at least one rail (847) designed to attach instruments or the like thereto, or threaded sections (845) for connecting such a rail (847) to the first side part (811a) and/or the second side part (811b), in particular at a distance therefrom or by forming a gap or a passage. Set with - a medical table connection (800) according to one of the Claims 1 until 8th ; further having at least one element from the group of elements consisting of: - a plurality of rods (801) for the detachable connection of the table connection (800) to the surgical skull holding device (1000), the rods differing from one another in at least one geometric feature ; - A multiplicity of plug-in projections (825a, 825b), the plug-in projections (825a, 825b) differing from one another in terms of geometry, the diameter of their free end section and/or their length; - a skull holding device (1000), which comprises at least one skull clamp (100) with a first arm (101) and a second arm (103), both the first arm (101) and the second arm (103) each having at least one pin (101s, 103s) for receiving or clamping the skull therebetween; and - an operating table (O), which in turn has: ■ at least one rail (R) for insertion into the first and/or the second clamping rail (823a, 823b); and/or ■ at least one receiving opening (A) for receiving the first and/or the second plug-in projection (825a, 825b). set after claim 9 , wherein at least one rail (R) of the operating table (O) and at least one rail (847) attached to the first side part (811a) and/or to the second side part (811b) are at least partially of the same width, height, depth, cross section and /or material thickness.
