The invention also relates to a bulk material separation device with this bulk material analysis device. The invention also relates to a method for analyzing and / or separating bulk goods, in which bulk goods are conveyed laterally, x-rayed and the resulting X-ray transmission signal for determining the properties of the bulk goods is detected by a line sensor.
Bulk material here means a pourable material that can be transported over a conveyor line, for example a conveyor belt, a chute or the like. In this case, bulk material can consist, for example, of rock extracted by mining, if necessary rock broken to a suitable chunk size, but also of other pourable materials such as gravel, waste (garbage) or recyclates.

In order to ensure the orientation of the bulk material particles lying on the conveyor belt or in the conveyor line, the analysis result should be available as soon as possible after the X-ray image, for example only a few tenths of a second afterwards. Therefore, a demanding evaluation of the sensor data is necessary at typical conveying speeds of the bulk material of 3 m / s within a very short conveying distance. This is because the bulk material structure present in the area of the X-ray image can only be assumed to be essentially unchanged for the point in time immediately thereafter by evaluating as quickly as possible.
In addition to this rather low positional inaccuracy due to overturning, tumbling or sliding bulk material particles, there is a geometric inaccuracy in the geometric structure of the previously known bulk material analysis devices with an X-ray source and a line sensor with regard to the spatial assignment of the respective measured signal due to the fact that with an X-ray source arranged centrally above the conveyor line as Point source, the bulk material particles observed further outside on the conveyor line are irradiated at an observation angle that clearly deviates from the perpendicular. The problem is not so much the “oblique” irradiation of a bulk material as the oblique impingement of the X-ray radiation on the line sensor. Depending on the design of the line sensor, considerable parallax errors and thus assignment errors can result. In particular when using two superimposed line sensors, a first (upper) line sensor for soft X-rays and a second (lower) line sensor for harder X-rays, there are two images between the two images that are to be used to determine the constituents of the bulk material by evaluating the image information , thus considerable errors with regard to the localization of the measured events.
The same applies to so-called energy-dispersive sensors which, in a relatively high structure of a few millimeters depending on the X-ray energy at different levels in this semiconductor structure, map the decoupling of pixel-oriented electrical charge as a single event of a decelerated quantum, depending on the energy level of the irradiated X-ray radiation. Correspondingly, no precise location assignment can be given in the case of X-rays incident at an angle, since signal cross-talk to neighboring pixels is to be expected. Errors in the Pixel allocation of one, two or three pixels results.
Furthermore, it is known in the prior art that with a radiographic measurement method with X-rays at a working width of 1.2 m (width of the conveyor belt) and a focus distance of the X-ray source of 1 m in the middle of the conveyor belt, the intensity of the X-rays incident at the edge compared to the Middle is reduced by more than ¼. It was therefore suggested to extend the "exposure time" at the edge of the line sensor in order not to lose the desired measurement signal in the noise.
However, it is disadvantageously accepted that the measurement results in the outer area are “blurred”, i.e. localized inaccuracy, due to the extended exposure time.
Proceeding from these problems, it is the object of the invention to specify a bulk material analysis device or a method for this, in which pixel errors are excluded or significantly reduced.
This object is achieved with a bulk material analysis device according to
Because the line sensor is composed of several straight sensor sections, all of which are essentially at the same height close to and transversely to the conveyor line, with each sensor section oriented at its center orthogonally to the X-ray source, parallax errors on the short straight sensor section are minimized Center of the sensor section actually no parallax shift occurs due to the orthogonally impinging X-ray radiation. The sensor sections are thus arranged along a “serrated line” similar to a Fresnel lens.
The length of the respective straight sensor sections is preferably matched so that the X-rays at the edge of the respective straight sensor section have a maximum error angle to the perpendicular of +/- 4 °, preferably +/- 2.5 ° or only +/- 2.0 ° hits. This ensures that with this maximum parallax occurring at each sensor section at its edges, crosstalk of only half a pixel can occur, which is below the evaluation accuracy and does not significantly affect the measurement result. Accordingly, the measurement results from the line sensors require only minor subsequent computational corrections. The measurement results are corrected with so-called "offset gain tables" in which signal amplification values are stored for each pixel of the sensor depending on its respective position. Up to now, gain values of up to 50% have been possible in such offset-gain tables or corrections. With the measurement method specified here, this is only necessary with correction values for the amplification of perhaps a tenth of the previous signal amplification values, which enables a considerable gain in dynamics for the measurement results and thus a considerably improved resolution.
If the line sensor has energy-dispersive sensors for the detection of several X-ray energy levels, very precise measurement results can be achieved with an energy-dispersive sensor as a line sensor with a larger working width of the conveyor line. The braking energy for an event (quantum) of the X-ray radiation in the semiconductor structure, which depends on the energy level of the incoming X-rays, is assigned to the correct pixel on the line sensor. So that even with these energy-dispersive sensors, which are designed at a greater height, a high measurement accuracy is achieved, since the X-ray radiation hits the semiconductor structure essentially orthogonally and thus neither directly overlaps with neighboring pixels, nor leads to pixel errors depending on the braking energy introduced.
Because the filter device is segmented into filter sections in accordance with the straight sensor sections, with each filter section being arranged parallel to the respective straight sensor section, the individual filter sections are also essentially perpendicular to the incoming x-ray radiation, so that the path of individual x-ray quanta through the filter material (metal layer, etc.) is essentially the same at every point on the line sensor. This differs significantly from previous arrangements in which the filter material extends flat over the entire width of the conveying path and consequently the X-ray radiation in the edge area deviates significantly from the vertical, for example by 30 ° or more, has to pass through the filter layer. The path covered in the filter for each quantum is accordingly depends on how far it hits the filter material from the center of the conveyor line. Correspondingly, a considerably greater attenuation of the X-ray signal can be determined in the outer area. According to the invention, this can be circumvented by the aforementioned alignment of the filter material in its center orthogonal to the X-ray source in appropriately segmented filter sections.
If a collimator having a slit with a slit width is arranged in front of the line sensor in the radiation direction of the X-ray radiation, the collimator being segmented into collimator sections according to the straight sensor sections and each collimator section being arranged parallel to the respective straight sensor section, the collimator is also segmented into collimator sections in its respective Center oriented orthogonally to the X-ray source. This prevents the X-ray radiation from being influenced differently at the edges of the collimator depending on the angle of incidence to the collimator (namely essentially perpendicular in the center and inclined at an angle of 30 ° or more to the perpendicular in the edge areas of the conveyor line) and thus falsifications of the Measurement results.
The fact that each collimator section has a slightly greater length than the associated straight-line sensor section, so that the collimator sections overlap, can avoid undesired scattered radiation and / or diffraction at the edges of the collimator sections and the resulting blurring.
If the gap width of each collimator section increases from the center of the collimator on both sides across the width of the line sensor, the attenuation of the intensity of the X-rays in the edge area of the conveyor line can be compensated for by increasing the gap width. The slit width can increase from collimator section to collimator section, but it can be constant for each collimator section, or it can increase continuously from the center of the collimator over all collimator sections from the center to the outside.
Because the pixels of the line sensor have a rectangular pixel area, with the long side of the pixel area aligned parallel to the conveying direction of the bulk material, the sensitivity of the line sensor can be increased without loss of lateral resolution (i.e. perpendicular to the conveying direction). It must be taken into account that the resolution in the direction of the conveyor section is specified as a function of the conveyor speed and the "exposure time". Since a certain "motion blur" has to be accepted in the conveying direction due to the conveying speed, the pixel can also be made larger in this direction (rectangular pixel area). By dimming with the collimator in the center (middle) of the conveyor line, dimming can be done to a square pixel size, with the gap width widening in the edge area to compensate for the intensity attenuation due to the longer path of the X-ray radiation and thus the elongated rectangular pixel area more and more, depending farther from the center of the conveyor line, can be released by the collimator.
If the line sensor consists of the sensor sections and has a single or multiple line design, if the line sensor is designed with multiple lines, the pixels lying one behind the other in the conveying direction can be added up according to the conveying speed in order to reduce the noise. In this respect, effective noise suppression can be achieved using a multi-line line sensor.
In a special embodiment, the aforementioned bulk material analysis device is used for a bulk material separation device, with a blowout device being arranged in a fall section downstream of the bulk material analysis device, the blowout device being controllable from the measurement results of the bulk material analysis device via computer-controlled evaluation means for property-dependent separation of the bulk material. The blow-out device can thus blow out individual bulk material particles from the falling flow of the bulk material particles into a partial flow on the basis of the measurement results determined by the line sensor.
The bulk material analysis method according to the invention is characterized in that the X-ray radiation is directed onto the line sensor in an angular range of +/- 4 ° to the orthogonal. Due to the X-ray radiation incident on the line sensor in a very narrow angular range of +/- 4 °, preferably +/- 2.5 ° or in particular <+/- 2 ° to the orthogonal, the intensity attenuation of the X-ray signal that otherwise occurs in conventional systems is reduced by 100%. in the middle to 86% at the edge of the conveyor belt by the oblique incidence in the line sensor with a conveyor belt width of, for example, 1.2 m and a focus distance of the X-ray source of 1 m from the center of the conveyor belt. With the segmentation and alignment according to the invention, the intensity is then only weakened by only a few per thousand remaining, small incorrect angles. This makes it possible to compensate for this weakening in intensity and the associated errors in the results through the selected geometry of the measurement setup. The computation methods previously used for this purpose, which were always also error-prone, are therefore no longer or in any case no longer necessary to the considerable extent.
If the slit width of the collimator is increased as the distance of the X-ray radiation increases, the decrease in intensity due to the longer beam path to the outer edges of the conveying path is also compensated for in the design of the system, so that no compensation calculation methods and / or signal amplifications with a simultaneous increase in noise are required for this either are.
