Abstract
Process to enable access, withdrawal and withdrawal of feed, nutritional supplements and / or medication for selected animals on the basis of animal recognition. The recognition is based on images and videos in the range of the visible and invisible light spectrum. Radar data as well as sound and ultrasound waves are also evaluated. If an animal is recognized, feed access is granted. If it moves away again, access to the feed is denied again.
Description
The present invention relates to a method for granting or denying access to feed to selected animals.
It is currently possible to feed animals automatically by providing feed depending on the time or animal-triggered feed dosages. Furthermore, there are techniques that enable access to the feed by individually marking the animals.
In addition, there are numerous applications today that use image recognition programs to identify animals or objects.
The problem with the currently available automatic feeding systems is that the feed is accessible to every animal, including wild animals, after it has been dispensed. This can result in high feed costs, as the delivery to them cannot be regulated. For some animal species, marking is not technically possible or economically unprofitable.
The problem is solved by my invention as described in claim 1.
For this purpose, sensor data are evaluated with the help of recognition algorithms. These are automatically checked for specific, predefined animals. If such an animal is recognized with the aid of claims 2 to 5, access to feed is granted. When the animal moves away, access to feed is denied again.
This procedure greatly facilitates the targeted feeding of animals. There are no costs that would arise from marking the animals. In addition, by evaluating sensor data, targeted feeding can also be used for animal species for which marking is not possible due to technical and physical restrictions. In addition, the feed is only fed to the selected animals and is not eaten by wild animals or rodents.
