Field of invention

Background of the invention

For shipping or selling large, sensitive and heavy goods, such as household appliances or household electronics, it is known to pack the devices in a box-shaped box. Foam components manufactured individually for the goods form the transition from the generally non-cuboidal device to the cuboidal cardboard box. Together with the foam components, the shipping of the goods packed therein is unproblematic. When such a box arrives at the end customer's home, the problem often arises, depending on the type of packaging, of how the heavy, nonetheless sensitive goods in the box can be released from the box. Due to the tight fit of the foam components, the much lighter carton usually encloses with a press fit. It is not possible to shake off the box as the goods packed in it are too heavy. It is therefore desirable to provide a packaging box that facilitates unpacking by the end customer.

It is also desirable that the goods, when they arrive at the end customer, meet the end customer's expectations. This also means that the individual experience of unpacking is a joyful event. The happy event is supported by a presentation of the goods still in the box, so that the goods purchased by the end customer are presented in the most advantageous way possible. It is therefore desirable to provide a packaging box that makes unpacking a special experience for the end customer.

The problem underlying the invention

The object of the invention is therefore to provide an improved packaging box, in particular a packaging box, which makes unpacking by the end customer a special experience and which makes unpacking by the end customer easier.

According to the concept of the invention, it is provided that a side wall can be opened through material weakening lines in the carton wall. The material weakening lines keep the side wall firmly closed in the shipping state. At the end customer, however, the material weakening lines can be opened when the packaging box is opened in the usual manner by opening the lid flaps. To open it, the side wall can be torn open along the material weakening lines. Opening the side wall has the advantage that the goods packaged in the packaging box are more easily accessible and it is visible from the side how the goods themselves are on display when used in accordance with the generic type.

In order to simplify the opening of the side wall through the material weakening lines, it can be provided that the ends of the two material weakening lines directed towards the bottom flap are connected to one another with a first kink in the side wall. Preferred embodiments of the invention

The packaging box is usually adapted to the external dimensions of the goods packed in the box. However, it is still possible to pack goods whose external dimensions are more cubic in nature in a packaging box that is cuboid. The cuboid shape of the packaging box is characterized by a narrower pair of side walls and a wider pair of side walls, with the box walls of a pair facing each other. Accessories or instructions for use as well as electrical connections can be packed in the spaces between the cube shape and the cuboid shape. For this purpose, it can be provided that the four side walls (are divided into two narrow side walls and two wide side walls, with the narrow side walls facing each other in the erected packaging cardboard, and the wide side walls (in the erected packaging cardboard being opposite one another, with engagement flaps being cut into the narrow side walls which are connected to a fold on the upper side via a box in the erected packaging box. The material weakening lines can be designed differently. It is possible that the material weakening lines are selected from the group consisting of: perforation, half-cut line and perforated half-cut line. The perforation has proven itself when using corrugated cardboard, which is connected to one another on the surface of the corrugated peaks by a smooth cardboard or paper web. This type of cardboard wall formation, which is known per se, has several individual wall elements that do not run very uniformly within its wall thickness. Through the perforation with a perforation knife, these individual wall elements can be interrupted at an identical point, so that when tearing open a nonetheless uniform crack pattern arises, which supports the aesthetic impression of the torn side wall. It is also possible to provide a combination of a perforation and a half-cut line. Half-cut lines are preferably used in laminated cardboard, in which a knife cuts a cut in the surface, whereby the cutting depth can be up to half a wall thickness. When tearing open, the cardboard tears preferentially along this line.

According to this variant it can be provided that the material of the packaging cardboard is corrugated cardboard, the peaks of the corrugations being connected to a smooth cardboard layer, the material weakening lines consisting of a perforation.

When using pure laminate cardboard as cardboard material for the packaging cardboard according to the invention, it can be provided that the material of the packaging cardboard is laminated cardboard, the material weakening lines consisting of a half-cut line or a perforated half-cut line. In a very special embodiment of the packaging carton it can be provided that the half-cut lines are incised on both sides of the carton wall, the two half-cut lines being offset from one another by 5 mm to 5 cm.
