Abstract
Cosmetic pasty cleaning preparation containing an amino acid surfactant and an unbranched fatty alcohol, which can be provided in a crucible.
Description
The present invention describes a cleaning preparation which has such a high consistency that the preparation is suitable for removal from a crucible. Furthermore, the preparation is mild, so that the preparation is preferably intended for facial cleansing.
Cleansing products are designed to cleanse the skin and hair. After the cleaning process, the user ideally has a feeling of cleanliness, freshness and well-being. Man has always had the need to purify, i.e. Removing dirt from the skin or hair. The aim of the cleaning process is to remove dirt from the surface of the skin. The film of dirt consists of solid or liquid components that have got onto the skin from the outside. The dirt film also includes excess skin lipids and dead body cells. With the help of surface-active ingredients in the cleaning compositions, the components of the dirt film get into the washing liquor and are removed from the skin by the rinsing process. In addition to removing the film of dirt, however, surface lipids of the skin, for example barrier lipids, can also be dissolved to a limited extent by the surface-active substances in the cleaning preparations and removed during the rinsing process. The loss of skin lipids can lead to symptoms of dehydration and skin irritation. If products are intended for facial cleansing, this is all the more true because the skin of the face is a sensitive skin and this is especially true of the eye area.
Various concepts are known for reducing the irritative effects of certain surfactants in cleaning preparations. One possibility is to choose particularly mild surfactants. Another possibility is the use of moisturizing ingredients in cleaning preparations. The avoidance of anionic surfactants based on soap also helps to reduce the irritation potential of cleaning preparations.
Over time, the cleaning processes have changed, as have the products that are used for cleaning. Nowadays, special cleaning products are often used, e.g. B. for the body, for the hair, for the face, for the feet and others. The respective cleaning products are again offered in different versions.
Despite this multitude of different product forms, consumer surveys repeatedly express the desire for new, innovative product forms.
There was therefore a need to provide a cleansing preparation that is so mild that it can be used in the facial area and, on the other hand, to choose a product form for this cleansing preparation that is not common.
A concept was developed to offer cleaning preparations in one pan. Cleaning preparations are usually offered in dispensers or tubes, but also in cans, then in the present case in aerosol form. In order to enable it to be removed from a dispenser or a tube, the preparation must have a certain flowability. This means that the viscosity must not be too high to allow easy removal from the tube / dispenser.
Different requirements apply to removal from a crucible. The preparation must be pasty for this. This property is usually determined using a consistency specification. The aim was to find agents that bring about the pasty properties of the cleaning preparation without adversely affecting the other properties, cleaning performance and mildness.
The StdT contains documents that include reveal various components that can influence the consistency of a preparation.

- n is a number between 0 and 2,
- X COO - is and
- M is independently a hydrogen atom [H + ], Na + or K + .
It is preferred if the at least one amino acid surfactant is an acyl glycinate, more preferably a sodium cocoyl glycinate. Sodium cocoyl glycinate can be obtained, for example, from Clariant under the trade name Hostapon SG.
The at least one amino acid surfactant is contained in the preparation according to the invention in an amount of 2 to 20% by weight, preferably 3 to 15% by weight, more preferably 4 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the preparation.
The preparation according to the invention contains at least one thickener. Thickeners can also be called "hydrocolloids", a more precise term is the term "hydrophilic colloid". Hydrocolloids are macromolecules that have a largely linear shape and intermolecular forces of interaction that enable secondary and main valence bonds between the individual molecules and thus the formation of a network-like structure. They are partially water-soluble natural or synthetic polymers that form gels or viscous solutions in aqueous systems. They increase the viscosity of the water by either binding water molecules (hydration) or by absorbing and enveloping the water in their interwoven macromolecules, while at the same time restricting the mobility of the water. Such water-soluble polymers represent a large group of chemically very different natural and synthetic polymers whose common feature is their solubility or swellability in water or aqueous media. A prerequisite for this is that these polymers have a sufficient number of hydrophilic groups for solubility or swellability in water and that they are not excessively crosslinked. The hydrophilic groups can be nonionic, anionic or cationic in nature.

Polyacrylates can be homopolymers of acrylic acid, which are then referred to as carbomers. An advantageous carbomer can be obtained from Lubrizol Advanced Materials under the trade name Carbopol 980, for example.

Where R4 is an unbranched, saturated alkyl radical with 12 to 20 carbon atoms. It is preferred if the alkyl radical has 14 to 18 carbon atoms. It is particularly preferred if cetyl alcohol is contained. It is also particularly preferred if the fatty alcohol is only in the form of cetyl alcohol and no other fatty alcohols are contained.
The pH of the preparation according to the invention is between 4.0 and 9.0, preferably between 4.5 and 6.5. In order to demonstrate the effect that both amino acid surfactants and fatty alcohol are important in order to achieve a pasty consistency, the following preparations were produced and examined with regard to pH and consistency.
The investigations show two things: on the one hand, amino acid surfactants, using the example of sodium cocoyl glycinate, have a thickening effect that is so pronounced that pasty preparations can be obtained. Furthermore, the results for amphoteric surfactants, using the example of coco-betaine and other anionic surfactants, in particular alkyl ether sulfates, using the example of sodium lauryl ether sulfate, show that these surfactants have no thickening effect. A further study was even carried out for sodium laureth sulfate, in which the pH value was gradually raised to 5.1; none of these preparations showed a thickening effect.
In addition, a combination of at least one amino acid surfactant (using the example of sodium cocoyl glycinate) and at least one fatty alcohol (using the example of cetyl alcohol) leads to a further thickening of the preparation, which can be read from even higher consistency values.
It was also analyzed whether and what effect the amount of amino acid surfactant (e.g. sodium cocoyl glycinate) or fatty alcohol (e.g. cetyl alcohol) has on the consistency.
In a first experiment, the amount of fatty alcohol was varied and the amounts of all other components kept constant; the amount of water was varied to make up the example formulations to 100%. The preparations were examined for pH and consistency.
In a second experiment, the amount of amino acid surfactant was varied and the amounts of all other components kept constant; the amount of water was varied to make up the example formulations to 100%. The preparations were examined for pH and consistency.
The two studies show that both the amount of amino acid surfactant, using the example of sodium cocoyl glycinate, and also the amount of fatty alcohol have an effect on thickening. The combination of amino acid surfactant (s) and fatty alcohol (s), both in a certain ratio, leads to such a thickening that pasty preparations can be obtained.
From these experiments it can be seen that a weight ratio of amino acid surfactant to fatty alcohol of 12: 1 to 3: 1, advantageously from 10: 1 to 5: 1, leads to satisfactory, namely sufficiently pasty, preparations.
In a further experiment it could be shown that there is an optimum consistency with regard to the amount of amino acid surfactant, namely with an amount of amino acid surfactant (using the example of sodium cocoyl glycinate) of about 5% by weight.
These investigations show that with the combination of amino acid surfactant and fatty alcohol according to the invention such a thickening can be achieved, so that the preparation according to the invention can be made available in pasty form.
In the case of pasty preparations, it is advantageous to determine the consistency instead of the viscosity. The consistency measurements were carried out with a KO-82 consistometer. The measuring device for measuring the consistency is a conventional spring balance dynamometer, which has been optimized so that cosmetic samples can be measured. The dynamometer is a Kontaktor brand dynamometer.
The sample to be measured is filled into a 75 ml aluminum crucible and stored. The measurements are carried out at fixed intervals during storage.
The sample to be measured in the aluminum crucible is placed in the holder.
The dynamometer is attached to the machine using the bracket provided. The indicator for determining the maximum consistency, a red pointer, is set to zero. The sensor initially points upwards.
The machine is started with the green button. The holder with the sample is now fixed accordingly. The measurement begins when the start button (white) is pressed. The dynamometer with the probe, which is immersed in the sample, rotates through 360 ° at a defined speed of 10 rpm. The force is now measured which is necessary for the probe to move once through the sample. The black pointer of the dynamometer shows the measured force in real time and the red pointer shows the maximum force applied during the measurement process.
Depending on the properties of the sample, different dynamometers with different scales are available.
Der gemessene Wert auf der Skala entspricht pro Einheit 1g/cN.The measured value on the scale corresponds to 1g / cN per unit.
As long as there are no disruptive factors such as air bubbles or strong instabilities, the accuracy of the measuring device is given with a measured value of ± 1 per scale unit. In the case of a dynamometer with a scale from 25 to 250, the scale being displayed in steps of 5, the result is thus given with a reproducibility of ± 5g / cN. Measurements are taken at a temperature of 25 ° C. The sample is stored in the same room, but at least in a room of the same temperature.
The pH value was measured using a commercially available pH meter (for example the laboratory pH meter 766, brand Knick).
In order to be able to make a statement about the mildness of the preparation according to the invention, an example formulation was produced and distributed to 35 users who describe their skin as sensitive. The users used the named product once a day for 14 days. Following this trial period a questionnaire had to be filled out. The users confirmed that the product was very well tolerated according to the example recipe; there was no reddening of the skin during the test period or thereafter, and no skin irritation was observed either.
