Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a foldable secondary packaging / individual packaging for a medical article, preferably a disposable article, which is in turn packed in primary packaging (sterile), with a basic shape that is cuboid in a folded state and which can be equipped with the medical article via a first end face, as well as a packaging container with a foldable tertiary packaging / packaging box and at least one (individual) packaging.

Background of the invention

Conventionally, medical disposables, such as tubing sets for extracorporeal blood treatment, are packaged sterile in plastic bags as primary packaging, which in turn are packaged in secondary packaging made of foldable materials such as cardboard, cardboard or corrugated cardboard for transport. This prevents the individual plastic bags from hitting one another and thus reduces the risk of damage to them. However, the plastic bags are conventionally completely on the bottom of the individual packaging, which can lead to the plastic bag being pressed in / bent over, in particular at the corners, which in turn can cause damage to the plastic bags.

Summary of the invention

The object of the present invention is to eliminate or at least reduce the disadvantages of the prior art and, in particular, to provide (secondary) packaging for medical (disposable) articles which prevents damage to primary packaging of the article.

The object is achieved with regard to a generic packaging by the subject matter of claim 1. The invention is based on the knowledge that on one end face, in particular on a bottom end wall, of a (secondary) packaging according to the invention, a web / projection protruding into the interior of the packaging is formed, on which the medical article or its sterile packaging / primary packaging only partially rests.

The packaging is accordingly configured / adapted according to the invention so that a second end face opposite the first end face is at least partially double-walled. In other words, the second face is designed as a double bottom, so that the primary packaging (plastic bag) of the medical article does not lie completely on top.

Advantageous embodiments are claimed in the subclaims and are explained below.

In a preferred embodiment, an end wall flap, by means of which the second end face can be closed, can have an additional flap, preferably arranged in the center, which can be folded into an, in particular rectangular, hollow profile which forms the double-walled second end face. In other words, expressed, the packaging can have the foldable end wall flap on which the foldable additional flap is arranged, so that the end wall flap closes the second end face of the packaging in the folded state and the additional flap closes the double walledness of the second end face by forming an inner wall in the folded state and an outer wall spaced therefrom. That is to say, the inner wall is spaced from the outer wall in the form of a projection or web in such a way that it protrudes into the interior of the individual packaging or protrudes towards the first end face of the individual packaging.

Furthermore, it is also expedient if a dimension of the additional flap in the width direction of the packaging is smaller than a dimension of the end wall flap in the width direction of the packaging. In other words, it can be useful if the width of the inner wall is smaller than the width of the outer wall. In other words, the front flap or the outer wall extends over the entire width of the packaging, whereas the additional flap or the inner wall only extends over a, preferably centrally arranged, partial area, preferably about 50% of the width, of the packaging . This ensures that even if the plastic bag has almost the same dimensions as the cavity defined in the interior of the individual packaging, it does not rest on its (bottom) corners and thus no damage occurs through bending or the like at the corners.

In the case of a generic packaging, the first end face can be open. Alternatively, the first end face can also have a double-walled design, so that the primary packaging of the medical article is protected against bending over and the damage resulting therefrom at all four corners.

According to the invention, it can furthermore be expedient if a blank of the packaging has a front wall, a first side wall, a rear wall, a second side wall and a connecting tab, which are arranged next to one another and separated from one another by fold lines. In particular, it is advantageous if the cube-like basic shape of the packaging is obtained by folding the blank along the fold lines and, preferably integrally, connecting the connecting tab to the front wall. Preferably, a first bottom flap can also be arranged on the front wall, a second bottom flap on the rear wall and a third and fourth bottom flap on the first and second side walls and separated therefrom by a corresponding fold line so that the packaging can be folded by folding the blank along the fold lines the first bottom flap, the second bottom flap, the third bottom flap and the fourth bottom flap. Particularly preferably, the first bottom flap or the second bottom flap can have the additional flap divided by fold lines into additional flap segments in order to form the spaced-apart inner wall and outer wall by folding the additional flap along the three fold lines. In other words, the first bottom flap or the second bottom flap can be embodied according to the invention as the front wall flap having the additional flap.

For a cost-effective production according to the invention, it can be expedient if the packaging is made from a foldable material, for example cardboard, cardboard or corrugated cardboard.

The invention also relates to a packaging container with a packaging box in which at least one foldable (individual) packaging according to the invention is received. The packaging box can preferably be made of a foldable material, for example cardboard, cardboard or corrugated cardboard.

Detailed description of a preferred embodiment

Both the packing box 2 as well as the individual packaging 3 are made of a foldable material such as cardboard, cardboard or corrugated cardboard. The dimensions of the foldable individual packaging 3 are chosen so that the width of the individual packaging 3 in a folded state essentially the width of the packaging box 2 or the width of one inside the packaging box 2 formed cavity corresponds. The depth of the individual package 3 is dimensioned in the preferred embodiment so that it is substantially one fifth of the depth of the packaging box 2 or corresponds to the depth of the aforementioned cavity.
