Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Bestimmen eines Wasserstands in einem Umgebungsbereich eines Fahrzeugs (5) mittels eines Ultraschallsensors (3), dessen Haupterfassungsrichtung (H) parallel zu einer Fahrzeughochachse (Z) nach unten verläuft.   • - Aussenden eines Sendesignals in den Umgebungsbereich des Kraftfahrzeugs mittels eines Ultraschallsensors der Fahrerassistenzvorrichtung, wobei die Haupterfassungsrichtung des Ultraschallsensors parallel zur Fahrzeughochachse orientiert ist,
  • - Empfangen eines in dem Umgebungsbereich reflektierten Signalanteils des Sendesignals als Empfangssignal, wobei das Empfangssignal mehrere Empfangsechos umfasst,
  • - Bestimmen eines zeitlichen Versatzes zwischen dem Sendesignal und einem Empfangsecho des Empfangssignals,
  • - Überprüfen, ob der zeitliche Versatz innerhalb eines vorgegebenen Wertebereichs um einen Versatzwert liegt, welcher einem Abstand eines Anbauteils des Kraftfahrzeugs zum Ultraschallsensor entspricht, und,
  • - falls der zeitliche Versatz außerhalb des vorgegebenen Wertebereichs liegt, Bestimmen des Wasserstands anhand des zeitlichen Versatzes,
  • - falls der zeitliche Versatz innerhalb des vorgegebenen Wertebereichs liegt, Bestimmen eines zeitlichen Versatzes zwischen dem Sendesignal und zumindest einem weiteren Empfangsecho des Empfangssignals für das Bestimmen des Wasserstands.
