Description
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Dezentrales Transaktionssystem (
Stand der TechnikState of the art
In computer science and business management, any data relating to basic information about operationally relevant objects such as products, suppliers, customers or employees is referred to as master data (master data, core data), static data, basic data or reference data that is up-to-date (e.g. periodic) processing are required. Examples of master data are product descriptions, prices, discount agreements, names, addresses or entry dates of employees. Individual master data records are also called master records and are stored according to the state of the art on different storage media such as databases or in simple files.
Any protocol in computer networks is referred to as a decentralized transaction system or transaction database (distributed ledger) which brings about an agreement (consensus) with regard to the sequence of certain transactions, for example relating to the updating of data. A common form of such a system is known as a blockchain.

The proposed system is based on the insight that centralized platforms for the maintenance and provision of master data have established themselves in many areas and industries as a cost-effective alternative to the bilateral exchanges according to the state of the art. This bundling already increases the efficiency from the point of view of those involved so far, but instead of a final solution to the known problems, it is outsourced to a service provider or other third party. There are many different platforms, which are usually operated by one or a few major customers. Combining them into a single platform is not in the interests of the companies given the threat of a platform monopoly.
One embodiment of the invention is also based on the knowledge that decentralized transaction systems such as blockchain technology allow the documentation of transactions in a chronological sequence, without a central instance. The order of the documented transactions corresponds to that in which the transactions were created. Furthermore, when using appropriate cryptographic algorithms, such as those on which a blockchain is based, no subsequent manipulation of the data is possible. Business transactions between multiple parties can be mapped using digital contracts. In addition to people and companies, these parties can also be independently operating machines - an approach that is summarized under the collective term "Internet of Things".
The system presented below also takes into account the fact that master data is traditionally exchanged directly between the parties - with the result that any updates to it must be transmitted to countless parties. This leads to an immense amount of communication, whereby the integrity of the data is not always guaranteed. A more advanced approach involves outsourcing and bundling the coordination of master data management by external service providers. However, this requires sufficient trust in a central authority and is dependent on the service provider concerned (“vendor lock-in”), non-transparent cost structure and inadequate coverage by all suppliers.
Both approaches lack the ability to check whether the master data at the time of a business transaction corresponds to the current status and belongs to the desired business partner. The data provider lacks both the incentive and the necessary overview to keep all foreign copies of its master data up to date or to inform the user of the data about an update.
According to the invention, the central service structures are replaced by a decentralized one Transaction system replaced. This eliminates the need for a trustworthy central authority and dependency on the parties mentioned. At the same time, the property of modern transaction systems for mapping assets (e.g. in the form of so-called tokens) is used to incentivize the participants. In combination, these measures create transparency in the cost structure and serve as an incentive to participate in the system and maintain the decentrally managed data. Such an incentive is conceivable both for the provision of the data (e.g. in the form of a fee for accessing it), its verification (checking the local data status) and its regular updating (punishment or display of incorrect data status).
In any case, query and maintenance of the master data takes place directly at the creator, which means that his data record may be regarded as generally valid ("single source of truth").
The measures listed in the dependent claims allow advantageous developments and improvements of the basic idea specified in the independent claim. For example, it can be provided that tamper-proof scatter values (hashes) of the master data are stored in the decentralized transaction system and are updated every time the master data is changed. With the help of these hashes, the locally held master data can be checked at any time.
According to a further aspect, it can be provided that each data record identifies the business enterprise concerned using a unique identifier, such as its value added tax number (VAT) or according to the internationally established data universal numbering system (DUNS). Access to the master data is thus carried out according to a pull principle that allows the existing or procurement of new master data to be checked using such a unique identifier.
