Abstract
In the case of a method for the optical inspection of hollow glass articles (1) for design defects as well as for defects in the material such as inclusions, cracks, stress ranges etc., the hollow glass article (1) is located in a beam path between a camera (3) and a light source (2) , furthermore between two controllable optical assemblies (5, 6). At least one of the optical assemblies (5) contains a liquid lens, which enables a change in the focal length by means of electrical control and, as a result, a shift in the image plane. In this way, sharp imaging of different areas of the hollow glass article (1) to be tested can be achieved. Another possibility of controllable optical assemblies (5, 6) consists in linear polarization filters, the polarization level of which can be changed by electrical control, with the aim of switching from a bright field image to a dark field image and vice versa. In this way, areas of tension within the glass structure can be located. All of these changes can be carried out quickly by electrical means, so that using this method results in a test module that can be used in a variety of ways in the glass molding process.
Description
The invention relates to a method according to the preamble of
Hollow glass articles as products of a glass forming process require testing for different properties, such as the dimensional stability of the shape of the product, surface damage, design features in or on the surface, inclusions in the glass, including bubbles, and stress areas within the glass material. The test is always based on defined tolerance ranges, wherein in the event that this is not met, the hollow glassware is rejected as a committee.
A prerequisite for an exact execution of the inspection of containers such as hollow glass articles is a sharp, high-contrast image of the area of the container to be tested.
In this context, optical test methods in the form of transmitted light or reflection methods are known in which the article is in a beam path and received at cracks and inclusions within the glass material or on surface structures reflected light by means of a camera and fed to an evaluation which is aimed at investigating the nature of these defects in more detail. In addition to reflective effective features here shading-forming features can be detected.
In this context, optical test methods in the form of a transmitted light stress device are also known, wherein the article is located in a beam path between two polarizing filters whose polarization planes extend at an angle of π / 2 to each other. This arrangement is intended to detect voltage ranges within the glass material, wherein the beam path is opaque in the event that there are no voltage ranges and wherein a light transmission is only given if voltage ranges are present after the polarization plane is rotated relative to its initial position , Local stress areas within the glass can affect its mechanical stability, so that in this sense error-prone items are weed out.
Using at least one camera, both variants of the method lead to the production of at least one image, but usually of image sequences which depict part of the circumference or another location of the hollow glass article to be tested, which forms the basis of a subsequent evaluation process.
It is known to arrange the components required for the technical representation of these two methods in the form of test modules along a production line of the glass molding, wherein each test module is set up in terms of apparatus for a specific test task. These testing tasks include u. a. also the assortment check. This is an operating form of the production line in which hollow glass articles of different heights or even different circumference or else different design features follow each other in an irregular sequence. Depending on the resulting complexity of the test, several test modules are often required.
In the wake of a trend towards extended test criteria with the aim of improved quality assurance, there is a need for the establishment of correspondingly extended test methods and, consequently, an increasing number of test modules, although limits are often set for spatial reasons. With a mere multiplication of the test modules to be used, this problem can not be met even with regard to the associated costs.
It is against this background, the object of the invention to design a method of the type mentioned in a simple cost-effective and particularly space-saving representable manner with regard to a device of further test functions out. This object is achieved in such a method by the features of the characterizing part of
Essential to the invention is hereafter the use of at least one controllable optical assembly in a test module, which is associated with a glass forming machine, which allows electrically changing the focal length and concomitantly the position of an image plane for a recording. This opens in accordance with the speed of a switching of the optical assembly, the possibility of a summary of several shots, which depict different areas of the hollow glass article to be tested, in a test module, in particular in a camera.
The controllable optical assembly is used in accordance with the respective hollow glass article to represent different areas of the article, the layers of which are of particular interest against the background of a material testing, a risk assessment or a creative examination of the article. This functional summary of several test tasks in one camera enables an extension of the scope of the examination in the case of the existing glass forming machines without additional space requirements for further test modules.
According to the features of
The hollow glass article undergoes during the test according to the features of claim 3 a test area at a speed which is determined by the machine cycle of the glass forming process. In this case, the area which corresponds to the detection area of the camera can be regarded as the test area. In accordance with the switching speed of the controllable optical assemblies, it is possible to record images from different viewing angles, so that as complete a detection of the hollow glass article can be displayed for the purpose of testing.
It is also the object of the invention to design a device according to the preamble of

According to the invention, the use of a controllable optical assembly within the scope of a beam path determined by a camera and a light source and designed for imaging at least areas of the hollow glass article to be tested is hereafter essential. The optical assembly should be electrically controllable, for example, with regard to its focal length, the polarization state of the beam path, etc., and in this way be adaptable quickly to changing test tasks, in particular to different regions of the hollow glass article to be imaged and to a check for the presence of stress regions.
The optical assembly is arranged according to the features of
According to the features of
In an advantageous embodiment, the controllable optical assemblies can be set up both to change the focal length and to change the polarization state.
The light sources, the optical assemblies and the camera are in accordance with the features of
