Description
The present invention relates to a bearing assembly and a method for detecting damage to a bearing.
Currently, bearing damage is usually detected indirectly via the measurement of vibrations and vibrations occurring in the bearing, the temperature or structure-borne sound measurements.

The object of the present invention is to provide an improved method for the detection of bearing damage, which allows a low-cost and detailed detection of bearing damage, in particular information about the nature of the damage and the severity of the damage to be made available. Furthermore, a bearing arrangement with a measuring arrangement for the detection of bearing damage is to be provided.
To achieve the object of the invention, a method according to the appended claim 1 and a bearing arrangement according to claim 3 are used.
The method according to the invention serves to detect damage to a bearing. The bearing comprises a first bearing ring and a second bearing ring rotatable about an axis relative to the first bearing ring. The first bearing ring has at least one permanent magnetization region. The permanent magnetization region extends completely circumferentially about the axis, so that the first bearing ring has an annular permanent magnetization. The method includes the following steps. First, a time-dependent magnetic field sensor signal is detected on the first bearing ring. The magnetic field is created by the permanent magnetization region of the first bearing ring and by a force acting on the first bearing ring. This force is introduced, for example in rolling bearings by rolling elements. The force creates stresses in the material of the first bearing ring, which lead to an exit of the magnetic field from the interior of the first bearing ring to the outside. This magnetic field can be measured and thus serve as a measure of the applied force.
In a reference state of the bearing, the magnetic field sensor signal is recorded as a reference. The reference state is preferably the state in which the bearing has no damage. The recording of the reference state is preferably carried out immediately after the first commissioning of the warehouse. In an operating state of the bearing, the deviation between the current magnetic field sensor signal and the recorded reference is determined. In the event that the determined deviation exceeds a predetermined threshold, an error signal is generated.
An essential advantage of the method according to the invention is that it allows a simple and direct detection of bearing damage by evaluating the force curve on the first bearing ring over the time or the rotation of the bearing. The method also permits a low-cost detection of the warehouse actually affected by a damage event, even if several stores are present in one system. Rolling bearings can determine the number of damaged rolling elements, the type of damage (rolling element damage, raceway pitting) and the severity of the damage. By continuously comparing the current magnetic field sensor signal with the recorded reference changes can be detected promptly and appropriate maintenance actions are performed. The method is particularly suitable for needle roller bearings, roller bearings, roller bearings o. Ä. Bearings. In these types of bearings, the rolling elements roll only in the direction of bearing rotation. As a result, the characteristic is more constant with a Wälzkörperschaden and thus the safety the detection of bearing damage greater. In contrast, the balls used in ball bearings can also rotate any other way, whereby bearing damage may be more difficult to detect.
The magnetic field sensor signal is preferably evaluated by means of frequency analysis, for example based on a Fourier transformation. However, it should not be limited to the mentioned signal analysis, other suitable signal analyzes are quite possible.
The generated error signal is preferably designed as an acoustic or visual error signal.
The bearing arrangement according to the invention comprises a first bearing ring, a second bearing ring rotatable about an axis relative to the first bearing ring, and a measuring arrangement for measuring a force acting on the first bearing ring. The measuring arrangement includes at least one permanent magnetization area completely revolving around the axis on the first bearing ring and a magnetic field sensor device for measuring a magnetic field caused by the rotating permanent magnetization area and by the force.
The permanent magnetization region is preferably formed as a coating on the first bearing ring.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the first bearing ring are formed by an outer ring and the second bearing ring by an inner ring of a roller bearing. However, it should not be limited to rolling bearings. The bearing may for example also be designed as a sliding bearing.
