Description
The present invention relates to a lighting system comprising a plurality of lights which are provided and adapted to emit light in different ways.
Lighting systems, with the help of flexible and comfortable different areas to be illuminated, usually consist of several different types of luminaires, which are positioned in different ways and are adapted to emit light in different ways. In rooms, for example, where one or more individual workstations are located, it is often no longer common today to realize a light output which is substantially constant over the entire room, merely by means of luminaires arranged or fastened to the ceiling of the room. Instead, although usually ceiling lights are still available, which provide for a so-called general or basic lighting, for individual lighting of individual workplaces but then additional lights are used, which are locally positioned and usually only in the workplace for provide a certain lighting. Often these are standing or table lamps positioned near the workplace, which are also activated depending on the current use of the workstation. Thus, if a workstation is being used, the room as a whole is lightened with the general lighting of the ceiling lights, but the local light then provides increased brightness, especially in the area of the workstation, in order to ensure optimum working conditions there. However, in the event that the workstation is currently unoccupied, the increased local brightness is deactivated by switching off the corresponding lamp and the workplace itself is only brightened with the brightness provided by the general lighting. Ultimately, this results in a total of a more pleasant appearance for the illuminated room, although in spite of everything for the particular application of individual areas optimized lighting conditions are present.
The present invention is based on such, consisting of several different types of lights system, the invention is based on the task to design the lights in such a way that their interaction is optimized. On the one hand, this concerns the question of the energy efficiency of the system and the possibility of making the lighting system even more flexible overall. Also, the possibilities available through new lighting technologies are to be further optimized.
The object is achieved by a lighting system having the features of the independent claims. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
A first idea according to the invention relates to a special type of configuration of the luminaires responsible for the local or individual lighting, such that the overall energy efficiency of the system is increased. This idea makes use of the fact that the luminaires responsible for the mentioned general lighting are usually designed and arranged to emit light uniformly over a larger area, in which case the luminaires responsible for the local lighting are located within this area. This opens up the possibility of positioning solar cells or comparable energy collecting means in the area illuminated by the general lighting, which use the light of the general lighting in order to generate electrical energy. This energy obtained in this way can then be used by the luminaires responsible for the local lighting, it being ideally provided that the luminaires responsible for the local lighting are operated exclusively by the energy provided by the solar cells or energy collecting means. This not only increases the overall energy efficiency of the system, but also improves the flexibility of the system in positioning the luminaires responsible for the local lighting, since ideally, as already mentioned, these luminaires are operated solely by the energy collected via the energy harvesting means and accordingly, in particular, not to the general Power supply network need leading cable. This leads directly to the fact that these lights can be positioned much more flexible and rearranged, without this being associated with any restrictions or major work.
According to this first aspect of the invention, therefore, a lighting system is proposed, comprising a first luminaire, which is designed to emit a first light, a second luminaire, which is designed to emit a second light, and energy collecting means, which illuminate in one of the first luminaire Positioned and are adapted to detect a part of the first light and convert it into electrical energy, wherein the energy generated by the energy collecting means of the second light is provided. In particular, it can be provided that the second light is operated exclusively by the energy provided by the energy collecting means.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention it is provided that the energy collecting means are directly part of the second light. If the second light is thus realized, for example, as floor or table lamp, then it makes sense to arrange the energy collecting means at the top of the corresponding lamp head of the second light. The energy collecting means are thereby automatically in an optimal position for detecting the light emitted by the first light, so that here the inventive concept can be implemented in a simple and efficient manner. In an alternative embodiment, however, it would also be conceivable to design the energy-collecting means separately from the body of the second luminaire and then to couple it in a suitable manner to the second luminaire. Corresponding embodiments of this will be described in more detail below with reference to FIGS.
In particular, the second lamp may, as mentioned above, preferably be designed such that the corresponding illumination of the associated area depends on whether it is being used or not. According to a preferred embodiment it can therefore be provided that the second luminaire has sensors or is connected to sensors via which an automatic control of the second luminaire is supported. Depending on the purpose for which the local lighting is used, it may be provided that the light output of the second luminaire differs from that of the first luminaire with respect to the geometrical light emission characteristic, ie the question in which region and how concentrated the light is emitted. and / or with respect to the color or color temperature of the light. This measure also helps to illuminate individual areas in such a way that a suitable for the corresponding application of the area lighting is present.
A second aspect of the present invention is based on the use of the light emitted by the lamps for data transmission or communication. It is known in the art to use visible light for short-range wireless communication for transmission of digital data. A corresponding communication protocol for this purpose is known as "light fidelity" (LIFI) and is based on the fact that the light output is modulated or pulsed in a way imperceptible to an observer in order to transmit data in this case. The corresponding procedure is known in principle, but a practical implementation thereof usually fails because the range of the transmission is limited and error-free data transmission can be easily disturbed by external influences.
According to a second aspect of the invention, it is therefore provided for optimizing the data transmission by means of LIFI that the second luminaire responsible for the local illumination is used as a so-called repeater or signal amplifier. In this case, first the first luminaire transmits data about the first light emitted by it by means of LIFI, in which case the second luminaire is designed, on the one hand, to receive the data transmitted with the aid of the first light and, on the other hand, to transmit corresponding data by means of LIFI via the second light to convey. Since, as a rule, the second luminaire is then significantly closer to the area illuminated by it and devices positioned therein for receiving the LIFI signal, this significantly improves data transmission and reduces the susceptibility to errors.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, therefore, a lighting system is proposed, which has a first light, which is designed to emit a first light, and a second light, which is designed to emit a second light, wherein the first light is designed to by means of LIFI to use the emitted first light for data transmission, and further, the second light is adapted to receive the data transmitted by means of the first light data and then transmit corresponding data by means of LIFI on the second light.
In this case, this aspect of the invention can be used independently of the previously described idea of energy-collecting means. In a synergistic manner, however, it can be particularly preferably provided that the energy collecting means are used to receive the data transmitted by means of LIFI via the first light. This means that the solar cells provided on the second luminaire are not only used for energy collection but also serve as receivers for the data transmitted by means of LIFI.
A particularly preferred embodiment provides in this case that the first luminaire transmits the data in encrypted form, while the second luminaire decrypts the data and forwards it in decrypted form via the second light. Since, when using visible light for data transmission, there is always a certain risk that the light is detected by external observers and the data transmitted with it are tapped, it is often provided to initially encrypt the data in order to increase data security. However, in order to reduce the effort for receiving the data on the receiver side, the invention provides that only via the first Distance, that is, from the first to the second light toward an encrypted data transmission takes place, on the other hand, on the other hand, ie from the second light to the terminal decrypted data transmission takes place. On the one hand, this facilitates the use of LIFI communication by consumers, since the terminal positioned in the area illuminated by the second luminaire and used for data reception does not have to be designed for encrypted communication, on the other hand, the risk of external data being obscured by external observers unwanted way to be tapped, reduced. This danger would only exist for the distance from the second light to the terminal, which is significantly shorter compared to the first distance and accordingly the risk of data tapping is significantly lower.
In a further development of this idea described above, it can then be further provided that the luminaires responsible for the local illumination not only enable a data transmission to the terminal, but possibly also additionally support an upward communication. In this case, the second luminaire is then additionally designed to detect a LIFI signal delivered by a user terminal and to transmit the data contained in the detected LIFI signal by means of a further LIFI signal. For this purpose, the second luminaire can either have a separate transmitter for signal transmission or optionally also use illuminants which are provided for indirect illumination. That is, the light for indirect illumination of the second light is then in turn modulated in a corresponding manner to allow signal transmission by means of LIFI. Corresponding receivers for the signal transmitted by the second luminaire can either be arranged separately, for example, on the ceiling of the room or integrated into the luminaires of the first type. Again, it may be provided in turn that at least the data transmission from the second light to the first light or to the general receiver takes place in encrypted form.
Ultimately, therefore, the various ideas of the present invention contribute to the fact that lighting systems can be used even more varied and fulfill additional tasks. At the same time, the energy consumption of the entire system can be maintained within a reasonable range despite all the measures described.

The illumination systems according to the invention described below are described as systems for illuminating a room. Of course, these systems can also be used more versatile, for example, in larger public areas, factories or the like. That is, depending on the application, a special type of delivery in terms of the geometric distribution and the color or color temperature is sought in particular for the individual or local light output. In this regard, however, there are no restrictions and the second lights can then be designed in a corresponding manner to effect the respective light output.

It could of course be provided that all local lights are additionally connected in case of need via a cable connection to an external power source. Nevertheless, the solution according to the invention contributes to a higher energy efficiency of the system. Furthermore, it may be provided in an advantageous manner in the various embodiments, that the lights or the energy collection means have an energy storage in the form of a battery or the like, through which the energy collected by the solar cells optionally cached and then at a later time the local lights available is provided. Such a procedure is particularly useful when the local lights are not permanently activated in comparison to general lighting but only depending on the situation.

Finally, it would also be conceivable to use the local lights generally as a gateway between different communication standards. In this case, only one of the two routes uses data transmission by means of LIFI, while on the other route a different type of transmission takes place, e.g. by radio, infrared, wire, etc. The local lights thus provide a corresponding implementation of the signal to provide a variety of communication options available.
Ultimately, therefore, the concepts of the invention in many ways lead to improvements by which the use of lighting systems can be made more flexible and efficient.
