The method comprises the steps: decomposing the output file into individual bit sequences, comparing the individual bit sequences with reference bit sequences stored in a first reference file, each of which is assigned a reference index, taking over the respective reference index as an index for the respective bit sequence, combining the indices to an index file, transmitting the index file to the receiver, determining matching indexes of indexes stored in the transmitted index file with reference indexes of a second reference file, and sequentially assembling reference bit sequences of the second reference file corresponding to the matching indexes to a target file such that the destination file corresponds to the source file.
Description
The invention relates to a method for data transmission of an output file from a transmitter to a receiver via the Internet.
According to the current state of the art, the complete data record has to be transferred twice. First, the data to be transmitted is transmitted from the sender to the Internet - that is, uploaded to be downloaded and received by the receiver from the Internet. This means that both the sender and the receiver need to invest the time needed to make the complete files available.
The problem is, in particular, that the source files - ie records, files and other information - are getting bigger. It follows that also the time required for the provision as well as for and receiving and storing the data, in particular their upload and download becomes increasingly larger.
The present invention is therefore based on the object to reduce the above-mentioned disadvantages and to provide a method which enables a simplified and in particular faster data transmission over the Internet.
- - decomposing the output file into individual bit sequences,
- Comparing the individual bit sequences with reference bit sequences stored in a first reference file, to each of which a reference index is assigned,
- - adoption of the respective reference index as index for the respective bit sequence,
- - combining the indices into an index file,
- - transmitting the index file to the recipient,
- Determining matching indexes of indexes stored in the transmitted index file with reference indexes of a second reference file, and
- - sequentially joining reference bit sequences of the second reference file that correspond to the matching indexes to a target file such that the target file corresponds to the output file.
By means of the present method it is achieved that the volume of the output file to be transmitted is significantly reduced by the conversion into an index file corresponding to the data record and thus the entire original data record no longer has to be transmitted, which results in a significant time saving. Another advantage is that the resulting index file only has to be generated once and then used as often as required. In the method according to the invention, therefore, the complete output file is not transmitted, but rather split into bit sequences or data packets of a specific size, to which in turn an index corresponding to the reference index of the reference bit sequence stored in the reference file (dump file) is assigned. In the reference file, consecutive binary numbers are stored, whereby each data record of the reference file corresponds to a sequence of binary numbers with a fixed size and represents a reference bit sequence. The data records of the reference file are indexed continuously. The indexes combined into the index file are then transmitted to the recipient via the Internet. Depending on the length of the bit sequences to which an index is assigned, the index file is much smaller than the source file. The recipient of the index file can transform the indexes stored in the index file to the target file corresponding to the source file by means of a comparison with reference indexes stored in the second reference file. For this purpose, the reference bit sequences corresponding to the respective reference indices are combined sequentially.
It has also proved to be advantageous if an indexer is provided which converts the source file into the index file. The indexer divides the output file into bit sequences of a given length. Preferably, between a few bits and a few KB or even a few MB. For example, the files to be transferred are split into 100 MB bit sequences using the indexer. The reference index from the reference file is then computationally determined for each bit sequence. By lining up the individual indices, the index file is ultimately created.
It has also proven to be useful if a merger is provided for generating the target file from the index file. This makes it very convenient for the recipient to generate the target file from the received index file. The index file is sent over the Internet to the recipient. The receiver, which has the second reference file which is identical to the first reference file, uses the merger, which reads the corresponding reference bit sequences sequentially from the reference file (dump file) on the basis of the referenced index file records.
It has also proven to be advantageous if a generator is provided for generating the reference file. The reference file can then be created once by the generator. It serves as the basis for data transmission between the sender and the receiver. Since the reference file is generated uniformly, it can be created by each participant of the Internet independently of each other, if it is in possession of a corresponding generator.
It has also proven to be favorable if the first reference file and / or the second reference file are stored locally on a data medium or on a server. Thus, it is possible for the recipient to purchase the reference file as a medium, for example, only to then generate the target file after receiving the index file from the reference file. In this context, it has also proven to be particularly advantageous if the first reference file at the transmitter and / or the second reference file are stored locally at the receiver. This makes it very easy to transfer the data. Also, the reference files can then be easily secured against unauthorized access by third parties. In the context of the invention, it has also proven particularly useful in this regard, if the reference file is kept in an external storage medium, which allows only a read access, whereby access to the reference file and thus their manipulation is further complicated.
It has also been shown to be beneficial if the source file is passed through a sender router to a server on which the index file is generated, and that a receiver router is provided to receive the index file. Through the routers, one of which is assigned to the sender and the other to the receiver, the data can be transmitted easily and securely.
In the context of the invention, it is also provided that the index file is part of a public web page, which preferably only exists for a certain time. This would make it possible, for example, to receive TV broadcasts as well.
In the following the invention will be explained in more detail in an embodiment shown in the drawing; it shows:
Each record of the output file decomposed by the indexer thus corresponds to a specific combination of binary numbers. At the same time, there is a corresponding entry in the reference file for each combination of binary numbers to which a separate reference index is assigned. This means that each record of the decomposed source file is contained in the reference file. Each bit sequence of the output file is then assigned the corresponding reference index as its own index.
In the embodiment shown, in which the source file forms a movie file with an exemplary 2 GB output size, it is split into approximately 100 MB size blocks in approximately one round. For each of these blocks, in this example 20 pieces, the indexer assigns the reference index which corresponds to the respective data block of 100 MB from the reference file. The 20 individual index numbers are then combined in an index file whose size is significantly smaller than the original file, and transmitted via the Internet to the recipient. Due to the now relatively small amount of data, the transmission time has dropped significantly.
The recipient, who has stored a second reference file locally, uses the transmitted index file with the help of a merger to create the original movie file on the spot. That is, the merger uses the reference indexes of the second reference file to extract the required 100 MB records in the correct order from the second reference file (dump file) and to assemble them into the destination file - the movie - that the sender has in this form ,
