Abstract
The invention relates to a method for optimizing IP packets over Ethernet connections (standard 802.3) by removing unneeded information at the boundaries of an optimized MACv6 network. Before leaving this network, the information is restored as far as that requires compatibility. The invention significantly speeds up the traffic in such networks.
Description
Hintergrund/Stand der TechnikBackground / state of the art
Kurze Zusammenfassung der ErfindungBrief summary of the invention
The patented process removes parts of Ethernet data packets. The removed parts are no longer needed in modern networks, since these tasks have been taken over for years by higher protocol layers. The resulting network would no longer be compatible with existing networks. Routers inside the network are called corer routers. You can process the new data packets. Routers on the borders are called Edgerouter, they create a mutual compatibility. For package-oriented processes, the savings in short packages are clearly noticeable. In alternative methods, the method results in a significant increase in the throughput speed at the node. The response speed of the routers increases significantly within the novel network in all cases, which is particularly important in interactive web applications.
Ausführliche Beschreibung der ErfindungDetailed description of the invention

- The transmission rate of incoming and outgoing packets is assumed to be the same for the following considerations, but does not affect the operation of the method.
Netzelementenetwork elements
An den Netzkanten werden, wie in Bild 3 gezeigt, Edge-Router eingesetzt, die die Konvertierung zwischen MACv6 und 802.3 realisieren.MACv6 is not compatible with the 802.3 Ethernet frame, so all devices within the MACv6 network must support this protocol. As shown in Figure 3, edge routers that implement the conversion between MACv6 and 802.3 are used at the edges of the network.

- If the transmission rate of the outgoing packet is greater than that of the incoming one, time savings would again occur here
CorerouterCore routers
Die Corerouter behandeln ausschließlich MACv6-Traffic im Inneren des Netzwerkes. Bild 8 zeigt die Verarbeitung. Es entsteht eine deutliche Zeitersparnis. The corer routers only handle MACv6 traffic inside the network. Figure 8 shows the processing. It creates a significant time savings.
