Weil das Verstauen einer verschmutzten flexiblen Abdeckbahn umständlich und unpraktisch sein kann, sind auch Lösungen bekannt, die eine starre Abdeckplatte oder mehrere durch Gelenke miteinander verbundene Abdeckplatten für eine Abdeckung eines Ladekantenbereichs bereitstellen.
