Das Verfahren zur Herstellung der elektrischen Verbindung soll dabei automatisierungsfähig, überwachungsfähig, rationell und kostengünstig sowie prozesssicher sein. Das Kontaktstück ist dabei üblicherweise aus Kupfer gebildet und der Batteriezellkontakt und insbesondere auch das Anschlussstück üblicherweise aus Aluminium. Nachteilig an einer solchen Verbindung ist, dass zwischen dem Kontaktstück aus Kupfer und dem Anschlussstück aus Aluminium oftmals keine ausreichende Haltekraft wirkt, um einen sicheren elektrischen Kontakt zwischen Leitung und Batteriezellkontakt zu gewährleisten.
