The invention relates to a battery cell group for a battery module of a purely electrical drive of a motor vehicle provided motor vehicle battery, with the help of electrical energy can be stored and delivered to drive a motor vehicle purely electric can.
There is a constant need to temper battery cells of a motor vehicle battery with little design effort.
It is the object of the invention to show measures that enable a temperature control of battery cells of a motor vehicle battery with little design effort.
The object is achieved by a battery cell group with the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the invention are set forth in the dependent claims, each of which individually or in combination may constitute an aspect of the invention.
In accordance with the invention, a battery cell group for a battery module of a motor vehicle battery provided for the purely electrical drive of a motor vehicle is provided with a first battery cell for generating electrical energy, a thermally conductive first heat conducting layer adjacent to the first battery cell, a second battery cell for generating electrical energy applied to the first heat conducting layer on the second battery cell adjacent heat-conducting second heat conducting layer, a thermally coupled to the first heat conducting layer and the second heat conducting layer heat sink for cooling the first battery cell via the first heat conducting layer and for cooling the second battery cell via the second heat conducting layer and a thermally coupled to the second heat conducting layer to the radiator Heating the second battery cell via the second Wärmeleitschicht.
In this case, the knowledge is exploited that, in particular in the case of a motor vehicle battery designed as a pouch cell, the battery cells require a certain predetermined temperature range for the best possible operation. However, in order to operate the battery cells in this temperature range, it is not only necessary to avoid overheating by cooling but also to heat the battery cells, for example during a cold start of a motor vehicle with a battery group according to the invention having motor vehicle battery. Here, however, not the heat sink is also used for heating purposes, but it is provided to the heat sink additional radiator. The heat sink and the radiator can be operated independently of each other as needed, so that with little effort for the respective battery cell, a temperature can be controlled in an intended for optimal operation temperature range. Here, the knowledge is exploited that in a bag cell layer by layer arranged battery cells have substantially the same temperature and takes place when driving a target temperature either a cooling or heating. Therefore, the second heat conduction layer can be functionalized both for the transmission of cold and for the transfer of heat.
If heating is to take place, the radiator can indirectly heat the second battery cell via the second heat-conducting layer. Furthermore, the radiator can heat indirectly via the second heat conducting layer, the second battery cell and / or directly the first battery cell of a layered successively identically constructed battery cell group, so that in essence substantially all battery cells of a battery cell groups having battery module can be heated to a desired temperature. Furthermore, the knowledge is exploited that, during operation of the battery module having a plurality of battery cell groups usually a higher cooling capacity is required as heating power. If cooling is to take place, the heat sink can cool both the first battery cell and the second battery cell via the first heat conducting layer, so that both battery cells of the battery cell group can be cooled. At the same time, the heat sink can additionally cool the second battery cell and the first battery cell of a layered successive identically structured battery cell group via the second heat conducting layer. As a result, almost all battery cells of the battery module having a plurality of battery cell groups can be cooled at both end faces via a respective heat conducting layer. In this case, a space-saving layer-like construction of the battery cells can be maintained, which in particular allows a large heat transfer surface between the respective heat conducting layers and the battery cells. With the help of the thermally coupled via the heat sink thermal conduction layers, the battery cells can be cooled on both sides and on the thermally coupled to the radiator second heat conduction layer in a layered composition several battery cell groups are heated on one side, so that with little design effort a temperature the battery cells of a motor vehicle battery is enabled.
The first battery cell has two respectively adjacent to the second battery cells pointing over a thickness spaced first end faces, which are interconnected via first side surfaces. The second battery cell has two mutually adjacent to adjacent first battery cells over a thickness spaced second end faces, which are interconnected via second side surfaces. The first battery cell and the second battery cell are in particular symmetrical, preferably identical, designed. The battery cells have, in particular, a substantially rectangular battery body which forms the respective end faces and side faces, wherein arresters can protrude from the battery body, each of which forms a pole, in particular minus pole or plus pole, of the battery cell. In particular, the respective heat conducting layer has a higher thermal conductivity than the battery cells. Preferably, the respective heat conducting layer is designed as an electrical insulator, so that layer by layer subsequent battery cells are electrically insulated from one another via the heat conducting layer. The heat conducting layers in particular form a heat transfer surface to the battery cells, which covers in particular substantially the entire end face of the respective battery cell and optionally additionally at least partially the end faces of the arrester. The cold of the heat sink and / or the heat of the radiator can beis be generated by flowing through a gaseous and / or liquid fluid and / or electrothermal processes in the material of the heat sink or radiator.
In particular, the radiator is located on a side facing away from the second battery cell end side of the second heat conducting layer. The radiator can thereby contact the second heat conducting layer over a large area directly. As a result, a correspondingly large heat flow can be introduced quickly into the second battery cell and / or the first battery cell of a subsequent battery cell group.
Preferably, the heat sink is indirectly coupled via the first heat conducting layer thermally to the first battery cell, wherein in particular the heat sink rests against the second battery cell. By way of example, the first heat-conducting layer can contact the first battery cell on one end side and the heat sink on an opposite end side. The heat sink may contact the first heat conduction layer on one end side and the second battery cell on an opposite end side. As a result, for example, a short circuit of the first battery cell to the second battery cell via the heat sink can be avoided by electrically insulating the first heat conducting layer. Furthermore, the heat sink may be indirectly thermally coupled via the second battery cell or directly to the second heat conducting layer.
Particularly preferably it is provided that the first battery cell having a first battery body and protruding from the first battery body first arrester and the second battery cell a second battery body and protruding from the second battery body second arrester, the heat sink laterally spaced from the first battery body and the second battery body is arranged, wherein the heat sink in particular extends between the first arrester and the second arrester. The heat sink can thereby be arranged substantially parallel to the battery body, so that the extent in the longitudinal direction of the battery cell group with the layers successively arranged battery bodies and heat conducting layers is not increased by the thickness of the heat sink. Instead, a space provided for the arrangement of the arrester anyway space can be used for the heat sink. Furthermore, the heat sink can initiate cold in the battery body not only via the first heat conductor and the second heat conductor but also, in particular directly, via the arrester.
In particular, the radiator is arranged frontally to the first battery body and the second battery body. The radiator can be integrated as a further layer in a layered structure of the separated via the heat conducting layers of battery cells. The radiator in particular forms a heat transfer surface, which covers in particular substantially the entire end face of the respective battery cell and optionally additionally at least partially the end faces of the arrester.
Preferably, the radiator is designed as a PTC element. This allows the heater to be easily powered by electrical energy to generate heat. Further, the radiator can be easily configured as a thin layer compared to the thickness of the battery cells, whereby the space requirement of the battery cell group can be kept small.
Particularly preferably, the first heat-conducting layer and / or the second heat-conducting layer is produced from graphite foil. As a result, the respective heat-conducting layer can provide a good thermal conductivity and / or form a sufficient electrical insulating layer.
In particular, the first heat-conducting layer and / or the second heat-conducting layer has an insulator layer for electrically insulating the first battery cell from the second Battery cell on. The insulator layer can be formed, for example, by the material of the heat-conducting layer itself, for example by the basal planes of the graphite of a heat-conducting layer designed as a graphite foil extending substantially parallel to the end faces of the battery cells. The heat-conducting layer is preferably provided with a layer of an electrically insulating material, in particular by coating.
The invention further relates to a battery module for a vehicle intended for purely electric drive of a motor vehicle battery with a first battery cell group, which may be as described above and further educated, and a second battery cell group, which may be as described above and further educated, wherein the Radiator of the first battery cell group is thermally coupled to the first battery cell of the second battery cell group. With the help of over the heat sink thermally coupled heat conducting layers, the battery cells can be cooled on both sides and the thermally coupled to the radiator second heat conducting layer in a layered composition several battery cell groups in the battery module are heated on one side, so that with little design effort a temperature of the battery cells of the battery module for the motor vehicle battery is enabled.
In particular, the heating element of the first battery cell group is applied to the second heat conducting layer of the first battery cell group and to the first battery cell of the second battery cell group. A layer-like thermal contacting of the first battery cell group with the second battery cell group can thereby be achieved via the heating element. The radiator thereby assumes a heating function for both the first battery cell group and the second battery cell group.
